Newcastle’s Abysmal Record This Year Continues

Newcastle continue to lose games and this time it was by a score of 3-1 to Tottenham, and that was our sixth defeat on the trot and with the form we’ve shown this year it may be difficult to stop the rot against Swansea next Saturday.

Newcastle United Training Session

John Carver – struggling as head coach of Newcastle

All it takes is for teams like Leicester, Sunderland and Hull City to start winning some game sin the run-in and we could still be caught in the relegation fight this season – astonishing as that sounds when we were 9th top at the end of the year when Alan Pardew left.

That’s likely if we continue to lose our games.

At the end of the year we were on 26 points after 19 games – exactly half a season – and now after 33 games we have added only 9 points after another 14 games, so we are stuck on 35 points after 33 games.

It will be the 7th season in eight that Mike Ashley has been the owner that we will not break 50 points.

We know the Ashley.Out crowd want to force Mike Ashley out of the club – but it will be so much harder to sell the club if we are in the Championship next season.

And the crowd today was 47,477 so about 5,00 stayed away form the game and the attendance was about 300 less than the home crowd at the Stoke game on 8th February.

It;’s going to be interesting in this crisis Newcastle find themselves in whether we will hear from the top brass – Lee Charnley or Mike Ashley.

Probably not.

Here’s John Carver’s record as the head coach at Newcastle – it doesn’t make good reading.

CompetitionPlayedWonDrawnLostGFGAGDPoints
League1934121835-1713
FA Cup100101-1
Overall2034131836-1813

John’s win rate is 13.3% and his loss rate is 66.7%.

🙁

We’re all sick to death of u know who but unless we all start getting behind the team we won’t be in the Premiership next season.
    Is that what u want?
Can’t see any change until we get Sissoko & Cisse back to get goals & by then it could well be too late.
This set of players are not a patch on the bunch that went down last season. It gasmen against boys today!!

the last time we conceded 3 goals v Everton Colocinni played
today was the first time in 4 games we conceded 3 goals (this time at home). Colocinni played
In colocinnis absence we played Arsenal, Sunderland and Liverpool
We did not concede 3 goals
    Colo isnt our only problem
But he is our Biggest problem

This publicity will help. Even as thick skinned as ash is he won’t like it one bit.

He is now being ridiculed and suggested he does not know what he is doing. Why he wanted the club and what is the point in him staying.

Pity there was not someone out there who has been dealt a bad blow by ash and has loads of money and also would like to make a point….

Sir Richard Branson mobile number anyone ?

It’s what a whole lot of bloggers were saying in January window we need to good CBs & two recognised goalscorers. No t strong enough , little closing town, poor passing & no cutting edge
Need I say more – but yes those who were saying only one more win – easy – look out & the goal difference if we are caught will be inferior

Following on from the last thread:

Apathy is a big issue for our fanbase. We’ve been brow-beaten into a coma by whats gone on at the club that people aren’t happy with what they’re seeing but too afraid? Apathetic? Institutionalised? To do any different. Why do victims of domestic abuse stay with their partners? They’re not happy but they don’t think there can be any other outcome.

We have to show them there is another way. We have to be willing to accept that they may choose to stay with their abusive partner, but if they decide they want to try and make a change, that we will be there to welcome and support them with open arms.

We all got on board with this very quickly, but for others this will be a painful and slower process. Its like breaking up with your first love. It will take time, but we will need every last supporter in the end to affect change. This is a long road, we can be under no illusions about that. But I promise you if we can stay united, and not turn on each other we will get there.

Hey, you really MUST give Carver some credit guys.

It took P45DUE nearly FOUR YEARS, to set a record of SIX consecutive losses.

Mr Carver has managed to achieve the same feat in only FOUR MONTHS.

Yes, he is a complete and utter disaster, should be nowhere near a Professional Football Team – but hey, at least he’s a CHEAP DISASTER

This is what happens when you have an owner that looks to make and save money over putting the squad first. Its nout new its been going on for years regardless of any manager. It’s impossible to compete all season round. The maulings and poor performances and lack of moral is down to one person only. Ashley.

The rest just have to do the best they can under difficult circumstances.

Gambles after gambles year after year. Seasons derailed by January. How many times?

Ashley out – Hope and ambition in!

Dear me, that bench today. Shocking. And what happened to Jonas? He hadn’t taken a knock at all!

We all know this state of affairs has been coming for some time. I have consistently supported our owner’s approach to putting the finances right, but the way things have gone this season: bad signings + lots of injuries + some suspensions + the manager everyone on this forum loves to hate walking out into the sunshine + appoining no manager at all for the rest of the season + selling a couple of defeners in January instead of strengthening the squad = here we all are, this is so, so wrong.

Things can’t go on like this. Our owner is by no means a stupid man. He will know he has to respond, which means finding a buyer at a price which suits current owner, or totally re-evaluating his approach, i.e spend, spend, spend. One of these two events MUST occur in the summer.

If so don’t support it anymore. The places like a morgue today out shouted by Spurs fans up in the gods.
Oh and all u Pards knockers – look at him know, envious are we.
Players need to take the responsibility now but I don’t think they have the heart of a sheep

    Sir Braveheart / Ibiza @ 10 & 11.

You are looking at people who simply will not be driven out of the club by Ashley, or anyone else. They watched McKeag et al and they wear the hair shirt with immense pride.

They will be there, whatever happens to their club, simply because it’s what they have always done.

And if the figures are right and 7,000 – 10,000 boycotted, thats fantastic for a first step. 10,000 would be almost a fifth of the stadium. Coupled with the protests outside thats going to be noticed, it HAS been noticed.

More than that its stirred up a passion in the fans that has lay dormant for so long. THAT more than anything is what was needed today. Without passion or energy this movement dies before it begins.

Today is but one step. But it was 10,000 people stepping in unison.

the only bad signings have been Riviere in my opinion
The main reasons for our abysmal record have been

    1. Colocinni’s cancerous presence in the first team
    2. Pardew
    3. Carver

And maybe for those people boycotting isnt an option. But they may want to join their voices to ours in protest before and after. Boycotting is just one tool in the arsenal that we as fans have. Thats why its important not to push away these people who cant bring themselves to stay away. We need everyone in this Toon Army to fight, however they can.

Toonbrother, your obsession with collo is overboard, I actually thought he had a very good game today,

I think the blame has to stick to some fans, not the fans who stayed away but the ones that went to the game. I would probably estimate looking at the TV was about 8k not there but we still had the highest attendance this weekend.. If your happy watching that drivel then great but if you want change do something about it..
The atmosphere outside the stadium looked better than the atmosphere inside but SJP hasn’t had atmosphere for years now

So yeah, there was a game of football on today, anything else happen?

I notice there was no article written about the boycott/protest today, and then we get fabricated numbers “And the crowd today was 47,477 so about 5,00 stayed away.”

Bad form. I am quite sure the boycott today is relevant news in relation to NUFC.

Toonbrother but we haven’t got anybody better at CB at the moment. Do you want them to platy the kid from Notts Forest in last 3 games – he’s struggled to get in their Championship side.In all honesty the 3 lads whose contracts are not likely to be renewed apart from Krul are about the best we’ve got : Raylor , Sammy & Iberian.
    That should bring some abuse!

ibiza the protests before were brilliant

10 mins before the game i thought wow wat a show or message!

then at kick off i thought oh its quite full now but at least we’ll hear some noise or chants

but niether came so that show of “support for the team” was pointless absolutley pointless and the walk out at the end was laughable tbh

protest good but actual message sent out failure imo

Don’t support it anymore? Is that what you would do if we’re relegated?
The division were in doesn’t make the club the fans the atmosphere the pride do, I could not care less what division were in any more as long as I see pride passion and commitment from all those connected with my club and the city it represents
That is all gone under Ashley and has been gone for a good 3 years now
If your biggest concern is which league were in may I suggest you rethink team choice, not me

Graeme…For some, that will be true. A few weeks ago many would have said today couldn’t be done.

This really was just another step. There will be many more. It isn’t going to be easy, I for one am still celebrating.

So many people have come together this past 9 days or so. Truly amazing. Of course it could be better, but let’s not divert the focus.

Today was about fans staking a stand. Today that is who I care about. Each and every one of you, well done, you’ve done yourself and fans like me proud.
