With Newcastle’s threadbare squad – thanks to Charnley and Ashley – and an inexperienced coach put in charge of the side when the Sack-Pardew crowd had their way and Alan Pardew couldn’t stand the abuse any longer and left quickly for Crystal Palace – it looks like the disaster scenario may be playing itself out at Newcastle and we could end up in the Championship next season.
Ayoze Perez – after scoring first goal today
After being 9th in the league after 19 games – half the season we have now played 34 games and in the last 15 games we have two wins and three draws for a paltry 9 points – and over a full 38 game season that amounts to 23 points and certain relegation.
And of course we’ve lost seven games in a row.
John Carver is really struggling to get to grips with the massive job he has been given this year and the record shows he’s just not up to it.
This is a case of Mike Ashley thinking we were safe in January and making £12M on deals he made in the transfer window and it included making £4M on Alan Pardew.
And Newcastle are being caught out because of it.
That £12M Ashley made in January may cost Newcastle at the very least £70M (and probably a lot more than that) if we are relegated this season, and there is no sure way we can come back first time like we did last time, if indeed we are relegated.
It’s nothing but complete incompetence by the upper management at Newcastle United who have caused this grave situation.
Wonder if we’ll hear from those responsible for this debacle – Lee Charnley or Mike Ashley – sometime this week?
Nah – no chance.
