Ashley To Sell Newcastle’s Best Player This Summer

In what they are calling an exclusive today the Express is reporting that Daryl Janmaat will be leaving Newcastle for Southampton this summer for £10M, and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if the story is true.

Daryl Janmaat – will leave this summer

Newcastle brought in Daryl for £5M from Feyenoord  last summer to replace Mathieu Debuchy, so if a club comes in with an offer of say £10M, that could be enough for Mike Ashley to sell Janmaat, with the price doubling in a short twelve months.

The other reason is that Daryl cannot have been impressed with Newcastle this season, and we have now lost our last seven games and heaven knows when the rot will stop.

But the facts are we are now just 5 points above the relegation zone and Sunderland, Hull and Leicester all have a game in hand on us.

It’s not only the field of play where Newcastle have been less than impressive this season, but the way the club is run from the top has caused a lot of our difficulties this year.

So it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if Daryl himself wanted to leave Newcastle, although we thought he may want to leave top join his World Cup coach Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

And the other reason is that Daryl played for Ronald Koeman at Feyenoord for two seasons before joining Newcastle,  and Southampton are both a much better run club than Newcastle, and they have ambitions to be in the Champions League and have finished above Newcastle in the league for the last couple of years too.

Liverpool are also said to be monitoring the situation and Daryl has probably been our best player this season and can play well at either right back or center back.

But the situation for Newcastle in the summer could still change drastically if we manage to get ourselves relegated to the Championship for the second time in six years.

Newcastle will find it hard to hand onto Daryl Janmaat either way.

Carver – the signs have been there for weeks, he has been heading for an implosion, its in his character. I worry about him just on a human level, looking at him.
Relegation fight, for me, comes to this:
Can Sunderland win 2 of their remaining games? Don’t think they’ll get owt from Chelsea or Arsenal. Soutghampton at home next week – they sneak a win and we lose at Leics, and the cat is most defo amongst the pigeons. Their next game is away at Everton, and its not impossible they could win there.
Very worrying as we seen incapable of buying a point. Not even for 34 million.

Sing…Sunderland also has a game more which is winnable!

…it’s a big worry especially if we loose at Leicester. Hull can make trouble worse for us by beating Liverpool on Tuesday!

    Good morning,

Jesper…I do get what you’re saying, but Ashley appears to b only interested in hiring said “opportunists” as they are grateful and tow the party line.

They shouldn’t be excused of criticism, as you say, they are grown men who made and continue to make a decision, but for me, they’re only really there to take the heat and be disposed of when the time is “right” for Ashley.

    Well, it was a good morning… 🙂

To fans from other clubs looking from the outside it must seem very strange that Newcastle fans are not showing placards saying ‘Carver Out’. The same fans were quick to hoist the ‘Pardew Out’ placards when the team were performing badly but not as bad as it is now.

In other clubs it is the manager who gets the stick. Why not Newcastle ?

To the outsider it reinforces a believe that the Newcastle fans are xenophobic especially when it comes to managers, senior officials and owners. Only players are exempt it would a appear.

Never mind , I’m sure we already are “tracking” an out of contract replacement in the lower echelons of French football.
How much more convincing do those against standing up to this cancer need to be convinced?

I think there are players “tanking” it hoping we will go down. Perfect scenario for them to get a move away from the meaningless, rudderless, waste of time club that NUFC has become. Sissoko is one I’ll name.
