Shearer Blasts Players – Newcastle In A Mess – We’re In Trouble

Alan Shearer has talked about the mess Newcastle are in, after losing their last seven games, and he puts the reason for the mess fairly and squarely on the Newcastle players’ shoulders, a lot of whom have been wimps and don’t seem to care about the club at all.

Alan Shearer blasts players

Newcastle did quite well in the first 40 minutes yesterday and were ahead 1-0,  but once Swansea equalized just before the break it seemed it was all too much for the Newcastle players.

In the second half Swansea easily won the game 3-2 after being 3-1 up after 71 minutes, when a number of Newcastle fans left the ground in disgust.

This is what Alan has said about Newcastle’s situation

“Before anyone moans, Swansea were the better team, they deserved to win and they scored some very good goals. Let’s get that out of the way first of all.”

“But for Newcastle, the third goal they conceded just summed them up. There was a lack of heart, a lack of passion, no pressure on the ball.”

“They lose a tackle, got time to turn and take a touch, Riviere goes in half-heartedly, Colback goes too close and gets picked off, Anita comes in and doesn’t win a tackle, if you can’t win it then perhaps foul him.”

“Look at the lack of reaction from the three midfelders walking back – Gutierrez, jogging back Colback and Riviere. That ball should never then come into the box and it is a simple tap in for Jack Cork.

“I feel a bit sorry for John Carver because he is from the area and he loves this football club, it’s just a shame some of his players don’t love the football club as much as he does.

“They’re in a mess, they’re in trouble.”.

Newcastle had gone ahead for the first time in seven games after 20 minutes when Perez tapped the ball in after a Swansea defender has conveniently stopped Riviere’s cross right in front of him.

There’s something terribly wrong at the moment at Newcastle, and if cannot get the players playing for the club – we could be doomed.

Alan’s right – we’re in trouble – more trouble than most fans realize – and it’s not a good time of the season to be playing so badly and the players not seeming to care one little bit.

There’s obviously a culture problem at NUFC about owning up to mistakes (terror of the Fat Man?).
It’s also obvious that a temporary/permanent coach needs to be air-lifted in NOW, but they just don’t see it!

” and there is a chance he could try to sell the club again in the summer and finally leave Tyneside.”

    Daft speculative and sensationalist headline.
Nothing factual whatsoeover. Who said there is a chance?????????????????????

Ash is going nowhere but if he did it would be down to the efforts of people like the AO campaign that you always dismiss

If we lose 11 in a row they should relegate us to the conference not the Championship.
Wonder what price we are at Leicester.

It’s a vicious circle: Ashley appointed the incompetent Charnley who gives Fatso useless advice!

Classic case of the kettle calling the pot black by Shearer.

When given the chance he was useless as a manager and couldn’t motivate the players.

If there is one thing we must surely have learnt is being a Geordie does not empower you with something special managerial powers when becoming a Newcastle manager. Hopefully Bruce will never darken the corridors of SJP.

Harry redknapp would love it for a few games and would save us. As it stands, we were relegated yesterday IMO

The Express story about selling Janmatt to Southampton for £10m is not an exclusive and just tawdry lazy journalism.
It was reported last week that Coalman and Southampton were interested in both Janmaat and Krul to strengthen their Dutch connections.
Equally we are reported to be interested in 2-3 Dutch players and an ex- Dutch league Manager ( McLaren ) to keep Janmaat and Krul happy here.
The newspapers are full of cheap gossip most of it made up in a bar on Saturday night.
Best one I’ve heard is that the Express is to merge with MacDonalds and to be used to wrap their burgers in. It’s all dross.

Ashley wants to see us in championship and wants to see us there with a squad that has no chance of getting back up.

He’s not bothered about the money…he’s had his 250 million back ten times over in the last 8 years… this is about revenge served cold.

He might get 100 million for it if we go down, and he might get 280 million if we stay up…but whatever happens he knows from a squad perspective he’s leaving us in the lurch and whoever does come in will have to spend another 100 million getting in a new manager and rebuilding the decimated squad.

He does this to his business competitors…he leaves them dead and buried and he’s doing the same to us because we turned on him.

Carver has got the coaches job til Ashley decides to leave because he knows he’s not capable and knows he will leave the club in a mess of his making.

    Revenge served cold

What made me laugh was Carver saying all week we need to change it, have players who can fight and win ugly.

Picking Anita goes completely against that, even Cabella ducks out of less tackles then him. The third goal could have easily been stopped, even Gutierrez was walking back to defend. Shocking.

One plus point was De Jong, showed class which we’ve been lacking and it was a nice composed finish. Riviere take note!

I imagine they’re gambling on Cissé to turn round our fortunes in the last three games. Beyond naïve with that defence!

It’s difficult to ask the players to show heart when the board and manager are taking a piss at them the same time.

…it’s their living and their career we are talking about.

Ashley gets back what he puts into it…not penny or ounce more.

I’ll take the relegation, get rid of Ashley.
We will storm back into the EPL on a wave of passion.

Ashley is of course our ‘Ace of Clubs’ on the NUFC fan’s most wanted list.
However top men in whatever walk of life are well protected and if they want to live a low profile life then they create the means to be that way.
Our ‘King of Clubs’ (Charnley) is a little different nevertheless. Although he is believing in his own hype and is endeavouring to copy the Ace of Spades style of visibility, he hasn’t got the means (nor the balls I guess.)
For God’s sake all you journos ….. get Charnley….. surely there must be no hiding place for this squirming, over- promoted shit-bag.

Comments of the negative nature by ex players including Alan Shearer seem to me to be conspicious by there absence. Vendetta ??? Feel sorry for Carver? Do me a favour pal Are you the only person on Tyneside who when Carver was appointed couldn’t see the nightmare unfolding. After the Chelsea game Carver reported “Well Chelsea boss Jose says I should get the job full time” I bet he did, and I bet the rest of the Managers in thePrem went “Good shout that” Not another point in sight.
