With the way Newcastle has been managed from the top this season, it’s clear to everybody that owner Mike Ashley’s ambitions are not in building a top side (ever) at Newcastle, and players are starting to see that clearly and want out in the summer to join a proper football club – one that wants to build a good side and challenge for European competition every season would be a good definition of a proper club – they want to be good on the pitch.
Those are not Newcastle’s ambitions under Mike Ashley.
Steve McClaren – new Newcastel head coach
Derby boss Steve McClaren is expected to take the position of head coach in the summer, but it’s based on two things happening – one is that Derby County don’t get promoted to the Premier League, and also that Newcastle don’t get relegated to the Championship – in other words the two clubs don’t pass each other going in different directions at the end of the season.
Jonas Gutierrez, Ryan Taylor and Sammy Ameobi will be allowed to leave the club after their contracts run out at the end of June, and Moussa Sissoko, Cheick Tiote, Tim Krul and Papiss Cisse are all keen to further their careers at other clubs – real clubs.
In addition Mike Williamson, Steven Taylor, Vurnon Anita, Gabriel Obertan and Yoan Gouffran are also expected to be sold in the summer.
Captain Fabricio Coloccini is keen again to leave the club and join his home town club Sam Lorenzo in Buenos Aries, where a deal was made two years ago, but Fabricio was not allowed to leave Newcastle at that time.
However, with just one year left on his contract Mike Ashley will be more willing to let Coloccini leave, as long as he gets something for him in the summer, rather than lose him for nothing next year.
It’s also expected that Daryl Janmaat will leave this summer, because a £10M offer will come in for him from either Southampton or Manchester United, or both clubs.
If that happens owner Mike Ashley will take the offer and make £5M on the player in just one year – in Mike Ashley’s world that’s good business, even if Janmaat has been Newcastle’s best player this season.

Comment #1EMG, With that list Ed, there’ll be no one left. So he has one year left and he’s going to leave us in the worse shape possible as a final F You to the fans he hates.

Comment #2Thats good that we do a major overhaul to the squad.
Krul, Janmaat, Sissoko – time for them to move to a better club
Williamson, Gouffron, Obertan – problem is that no club want them, cos they are sh*t

Comment #4Of course everyone wants out….who wants to play for a club with no ambition?
Not sure how we are going to find eleven players for next season, let alone an entire squad….

Comment #6I wonder if mike Ashley will ever show up again at st james park somehow I don’t think he will don’t think he has the stomach nor the balls, all this is your fault Ashley the whole lot, you are the one who has put this club in the abyss you alone, you would have thought that an owner would have made sure funds were available for players and the club to keep its best players not just for ambition to get to the highest postion in the league but to progress in the cups and head for Europe all this makes more profits for the club which results in a better standing with the fans and players alike and the city, the higher the placing the more money from the tv deal but ohh no mr Ashley just wanted to cash in on all the best players at an excellent profit skim the proceeds into his back pocket, mr Ashley is just a jumped up barra boy and that’s about it, I really hope and prey that his sports crappy direct company goes to the dogs his shares go down in the stock market and he becomes a worthless so called man for what hes done to our beloved football club, if you have any remose just sell the club and move on and disappear back under your stone mr Ashley, I really hope the mps give you hell in parliament as well you deserve it
