Newcastle After World-Class Playmaker

Newcastle are again being linked with PSV and Dutch International play-maker Georgino Wijnaldum, and we were first linked with this player about four years ago, when he was still at Feyenoord.

Georginio Wijnaldum -529052

Georgino Wijnaldum – 24 year-old PSV playmaker

We’ve been linked with this all year, with Graham Carr watching him regularly, and of course Newcastle will need to significantly strengthen the squad in the summer.

As we found out last year, once we are in a slump at the end of one season, it’s difficult not to continue that slump at the start of the following season.

We lost seven of our last eight games last season, and started this season off very badly getting only 4 points from the first seven games.

That led to the Sack Pardew campaign, which was ultimately successful and helped save Crystal Palace for a second successive season from relegation, and they are now safe on 42 points..

However Newcastle are now fighting relegation, and we have lost our last seven Premier League games for the first time ever, so we are not in good shape at all.

Wijnaldum has been in excellent form this season for PSV and has scored 17 goals in a total of 42 games and PSV are 14 points ahead of Ajax and on their way to their 23rd Eredivisie title.

Wijnaldum is still improving and is starting to approach world-class with some of his excellent performances at PSV this season, and is likely to join a big club in the summer.

He joined PSV Eindhoven from Feyenoord back in 2011, and has since played 152 for the club with 55 goals and 24 assists – so the midfielder can score some goals, which is what Newcastle will be looking for this summer.

However, with some top clubs after this top play-maker in the  summer transfer window, it’s going to be very difficult for Newcastle to sign him.

What do you think?

Why would he sign. I can’t think of one reason. Money? He will get that elsewhere.

For Woodman, we have Pardew to thank for that. He was probably Pardews only genuine pick for back room staff, when he decided he wanted him to come in and replace Paul Barron who had done excellent work in his 3 years here with both Forster and Krul – and Alnwick.

Im guessing any worse words to Carver from Mclaren were said out of kindness rather than actual honesty. He’s doing a terrible job and the world can see it! Injury wise he’s not had it much worse than Pardew did! Pretty sure he ok’d the sale of Santon (think he said he did) and he definitely told them the squad was good enough! He told us all.
Any suspensions are partly on him for obvious lack of discipline at the club!
Pardews an average manager but i think he would have picked up enough points with whats available to keep us 10th or 11th.
Carvers problems are all over the place, tactics, selection etc
I think 95% of toon fans can see the following things but he persists with them:
    Perez can’t play uptop alone
Gouffran should only play as a striker
Sammy is only affective off the bench and runs out of steam after 30 mins. Should probably be made a paolo wanchope like striker….
Cabella is in awful form, needs a rest
    4-2-3-1 hasn’t worked for 5 seasons
Willo shouldn’t play. (Ok he has no choice on this one)
We have a short squad. Don’t play high balls unless Rivieres on the pitch.

This Graham Carr myth people think everyone he signs is top class. He’s recommended some right turkeys.

The performance and fitness levels are a joke. This lot have had plenty of time off. The rots in big time and Carver knows it. I pray we stop up.

Wjinaldum? If they are holding out for 25m for memphis im guessing they’ll want a cool 15m at least for this guy?
Hes on the short side. we need to add some height to the middle really! Its no wonder we are so bad from set pieces when we line up with such poor aerial ability!

Never know what to think of Carr. I think maybe his ability comes from sniffing out a release clause?
Anyone a 100 miles from france knew how good cabaye and debuchy were and sissoko was already capped by France!
Perez was in talks with Real Madrid and a spanish u21 so was hardly the plucked from a tenerife beach thats made out.
Only player that was plucked from obscurity was Tiote who was engelaars back up at twente and im pretty sure he was recommended by mclaren who said he was better suited to england than holland!

If Ashley changes his ways I dont have a problem. The club is almost ruined at the minute, from a lack of investment and lack of a good tactician as a manager.
Ashley knows whats required, he has many friends in football. I’m sure he could call people for advice.

I think Carr get’s a bit of unfair stick, for me it’s the remit he’s working under,if you are told to scout Europe and sign prem quality player’s for 5 to 8 mil then were not going to find quality players all the time,if you could every team in the prem would be doing it.If you give him a budget of 10-15 mil a player i’m sure he would find better players, how many players have we failed to get over the line” because he won’t budge from his budget?.All roads lead to Jabba.

Its not the fees though, more the wages. We had Remy and Ba. Both deserved contracts and both left.

“Here’s a friendly tip – if you don’t like it don’t read it.”

Why do people say that? If you bother to think about it it’s totally illogical. 🙂

Yeah I think Carrs done okay given the remit is find cheap players who are almost out of contract or have a release clause

We have as much chance of signing this lad as we do signing Messi.

This is all just lip service from Ashley feeding the papers and as always nothing will come from it.

We have no strikers, Cisse wants away and Ayoze is still learning and open to a move to a bigger club.

Our midfield is a shambles to say the least, Tiote is past his best, Anita has never in his life been good enough, Colback is a steady 6-7 out of 10 every week but nothing special. Sissoko is not as good as we first thought and he absolutely bottled it in the derby. Obertan and Gouffran are a waste of skin. The only player who seems bothered and tries when he plays is Abeid.

Our defence, take Janmaat out and the rest would struggle to get a game for the Pear Tree in Gateshead, Colo has had his head in the clouds all season, STaylor thinks as long as he beats his chest and kisses his shirt we will love him. Williamson is simply not up to it every week, RTaylor I feel sorry for as he has had awful injuries but he is not up to it either, Dummett is the same as Colback for me 6-7 out of 10 every week, he is steady away but nowt special. Haidara I am still unsure of, sometimes looks great and sometimes looks poo.

Keepers, we have Krul and I dont think we can expect to get better than him at our club, Elliott is a decent back up and we and the club probably know we need one more senior keeper.

So there I have pulled our team to bits, over to Mike to buy in about 10 new faces of good quality…………….. or you can sell another 3 or 4 players make the squad even more thread bare and hope we survive by the skin of our teeth.

We wont survive again if we survive at all this year

    Rant over

    Mike Ashley I hate you

Colback Abeid and Raylor, quite honestly the least fearful midfield trio i can ever remember at the toon and thats saying somethin, neat and tidy they may be but oh sweet jesus, who would be fearful of playing against these kids, so we have lilly livered Sissoko coming back so what, hot and cold beyond belief, they have all had yet again the biggest kick up the backside possible, i have seen us respond in the past like we did after our terrible start to the season but we dont have Cisse “another niggle” pure crap, Riviere who could not hit the goal with a handful of confeti the savior de jong just about bak??? young Aarons who has been out longer than is believably possible, its so maddening our club, we could get a result 2moro but do you know what a teams like Leicester burnley hull deserve to stay up far more than us, they give 100 per cent every game blood n guts for their club not like our lot, i really think us and that lot 12 miles down the road fully deserve to go down, in fact them more as they have had virtually no injuries to speak ov, they are god awful.

So let me get this straight. the following players we are ‘linked’ with:
    Lukas Podolski.
    Jordy Clasie.
    Georgino Wijnaldum.

Firstly, WHO is gonna sanction the spend on these?
Secondly, Exactly what do you think Carver will do with them?
Thirdly, What kind of drugs are you on to think that any of these would ever come?

JEEZUZ man, We’re not famous anymore….. Fat Mike has seen to that.
