Having had some experience in building and running a large business at IBM, I have to admit that to being completely and utterly stunned – stunned – at the incompetence and lack of leadership shown at Newcastle this year by those at the top.
This is the Brains Trust at Newcastle
But it’s even worse than that now, because we have a coach in place who has taken 9 points form the 48 points available in the 16 league games he has managed this year.
He lost the FA Cup game at Leicester in January.
John Carver has also lost the last eight games – and that looks likely to continue for the remaining three games of the season.
Here’s his full record.
[table “33” not found /]We have not heard a word from Mike Ashley for some years now, and it seems that Lee Charnley has been hiding out as we have lost each of our games over the last two months now – and nothing was done about it.
They were just hoping we would be able to get by – which they’ve done that before – but they have really screwed up this time.
At the player level, the players seem to have simply given up the ghost – that’s very clear.
We’ve had Fab Coloccini sent off, stand-in skipper Moussa Sissoko sent off, so there’s the example right there – that there’s no leaderships coming from players in the squad.
When we let a goal in they all look at each other – what happened there?
And then even the players don’t seem to like each other too much, as Tim Krul had a go at Coloccini on the bus to the airport after the Leicester City game, because of both his play and the fact the Argentine simply doesn’t seem to care.
But this all starts at the top of any organization, and it’s Mike Ashley who has to take the responsibility that his club will be relegated for the second time in six years – maybe we will be the richest club ever relegated from the Premier League?
It’s little short of a catastrophe how they’ve let this situation fester and become what it is today – without taking any initiatives or actions to put things right – and now they have left it too late.
The fact there is news today that the Board still has faith in John Carver says it all.
We’ve become a joke club.

Comment #42Replacing Pardew is the first real decision in football Charmless has had to make and he has completely fudged it. My guess is he doesn’t know anyone in football or feel qualified to decide from interviews who would succeed. Anyone with anything about them would have the little twerp sussed in the first 5 minutes of the interview.
