19 year-old Rolando Aarons will play for the Newcastle U21 side against Blackburn Rovers tonight (7:00 pm), and let’s hope he can come through some playing time without that hamstring of his going again.
Rolando Aarons – returns tonight for U21 side
It could be that if he comes through tonight’s game, then John Carver could even put him on the bench and he could get ten or fifteen minutes on Saturday in the game against West Brom.
We’ve seen before how Rolando can turn a game, but of course it’s asking an awful lot of a very young player who has not played since November 1st, and it might be totally unrealistic.
But it does seem that Siem de Jong, Rolando Aarons and hopefully Papiss Cisse should be able to play in some of our remaining three games, and of course we need as many back as we can get.
But the problem with the game on Saturday is how we are going to keep the goals out – with Williamson, Janmaat and probably Dummett all unavailable – with Dummett injured again in his first game back.
We should hear an injury report from the under-fire coach John Carver in tomorrow’s press conference, but the two players getting themselves sent off on Saturday at Leicester was simply ludicrous and ridiculous and has put the club in further jeopardy.
Newcastle are certainly up against it in these final three games of the season, and it seems everything that could go wrong has gone wrong – it’s that damned Murphy again.
🙂
But the same thing happened to us six years ago, and it was still a complete shock when we lost 1-0 at Villa Park and took the drop – all we needed was one point in our last two game to stay up – but we lost against Fulham and Villa by 1-0 in both games.
This time will be much more difficult to get back to the PL in our first attempt.
Wonder if John Carver could call in Alan Shearer on Friday to talk to the players to try to inspire them?
It might be worth a try – anything is worth a try when it looks like we are about to be relegated again.
Comments welcome.

would still prefer a foreign coach but rodgers has shown he can play attractive football but god knows why he bought balotelli and lambert

Comment #42Rodger the Dodger would certainly help keep hold of some of the players, not sure how large his coaching entourage is and how reluctant MA is to pay off the existing long contracts? Although a complete downward shift of all coaches would easily resolve that situation. Still his salary alone would be excessive and West Ham the more likely destination.

The difference between Swansea Southampton and as u mentioned, Burnley, is that swans and Southampton brought in world class managers to bring them to where they are.
An excellent manager is extremely important. While we on the other hand…….

Comment #50reyantoon, he should have been bought in Jan, but definitely think we’ll get him if we stay up. just hope Ashley finally buys and doesn’t get rid of too many as we still need some experience in the spine. I reckon Ashley is now dangling a carrot for us to support the team this weekend by highlighting a few players we’ll get.

Comment #51The mitrovic rumors are pure shi*. Season ticket sales must be low. And who on earth will come when our premier league status itself is on the balance. Fools.

Comment #52Stop paying Bishop PR and spend the money ‘persuading’ a decent Head Coach to join as soon as our PL status is secured.

Comment #54if charmless had anything about him he would accepted carver’s alleged offer to resign and wiped off 5 more years of ineptitude.
virtually impossible to get someone decent in with the likes of carver, stone, watson and woodman still hanging around.

Comment #56ilovetoon8788 I believe these rumours, as Ashley needs us behind the team so this is the only way how can show us.

Comment #57rotunda, bit nuts putting satka in just now, good player but I think experience against percentage football that West Bromwich will do. note I think they’ll come at us early so a good 451 would do us good, keep the ball well and get the fans behind our team.
