Over the last eight games our readers have been accurate in forecasting that we would lose very game, and unfortunately they also think we will lose against West Brom on Saturday, but at least the percentage who think that are not over 80% which they have been in recent games.
That’s the good news.
John Carver – completely unprepared to be head coach
Here’s the poll for our game on Saturday and while we may have forwards like Siem de Jong, Papiss Cisse and Rolando Aarons back, we have only Fabricio Coloccini fit as an established back four player, with Dummett maybe injured and Daryl Janmaat and Mike Williamson suspended.
You know if would even make an exciting film if say Paramount were to pick it up Newcastle’s season if we are relegated – it’s much better than a soap opera that’s for sure..
In the olden days the way Newcastle have made their decisions is reminiscent of the old Laurel and Hardy films – although that may be being too unkind to Laurel and Hardy.
In our poll on whether we’ll be relegated this season, there was a majority initially that we would stay up, but it’s tilting the other way since our pathetic performance at Leicester City.
We could have lost that game 10-0 and couldn’t have complained if that was the score so inept were the side.
And John Carver still kept his job on Sunday?
It’s simply unbelievable – what has the Board been smoking?
So fans think we’ll lose on Saturday and that we’ll be relegated, but apart from that things are in great shape.
I keep pinching myself every morning when I wake up very early over here, and that pinch hurts – so I have to assume assume I am still alive and this is really happening, and I haven’t gone to hell.
That’s right isn’t it?
Hang on let’s check something – ouch – that hurt.
Yes I’m still in the land of the living.
🙂

You could equally use that pseudo logic to conclude that we are in a mess because we played in front of full houses!
My own experience suggests that support is an impetus that causes a reaction in the brain to increase the adrenalin release. However, once that impetus is removed things fall class.
Therefore, as others have said, it’s not a full house per se that is important, but the support that a full house could generate.

Comment #43Anyway, my take on the weekend us that the best we can hope for us a tight draw.
This season could end up a duplicate of two years ago where we gave to beat QPR away to stay up.
Hopefully they have a Boswinga like defender to help us to 3 points.

All of the time Ibiza and I and others have been working like dogs on the Howay the Fans campaign, an attempt to bring some unity to the blog which has been well supported, we were being heckled in a very organised way.
In frustration, we have been drawn into firing back sometimes.
That allows someone like you to come along and say we are all as bad as each other. Which we already know is the aim of the heckling.
Why, with so many positive things around in recent weeks which you haven’t bothered with, have you decided to chip in on this?

Leave him. He’s a joke. His strength is that we take him on face value. He claims to be an ardent fan, stoically supporting the club through thick and thin, when he probably hasn’t even been to SJP this season. It doesn’t matter whether he has or not, that doesn’t make him more or less of a supporter, but when he uses his lies to try and undermine others as lesser fans, that’s when it gets my goat.
We’ve fuelled him for far too long. He has long been a joke, and this joke isn’t funny any more.

I see you state this:
“You then tried to twist that to mean that Ian had been telling the truth and made up the fact that Ian had admitted to doing it in the past – he has never done so on the blog.”
I didn’t twist anything. I didn’t know the facts. All I did was ask you questions which you answered. I said it was odd that he would appeal to Ed. It was. Very odd. End of. No come back from me. It wasn’t even an argument from me. I couldn’t argue because I didn’t know the facts. I only got involved becaysr I was getting ridiculous accusations of being a doppelganger. Unbelievable.

Comment #59Listening to Football Weekly today and the pundits on there seem to think we are one of the worst run clubs in the country. IN. THE. COUNTRY. What does that tell you? Mr. Ashley it doesn’t matter how little you are actually involved it is still your reputation that is being tarnished by the mistakes the club are making. You need to either sell the club or revise how you run it, it’s that simple. Because right now your methods for running this once great club are being laughed at all around the footballing world. Remember, you brand Sports Direct is plastered all over what is now considered a joke. How do you feel about that?

Comment #60So anything actually football related going on?
Moyes and Clement linked to be our next manager? Moyes would be ideal for me, got the Man Utd job on merit but players wanted someone bigger so didnt play for him but who ever came in after Ferguson was always going to get the treatment
Clement is a wild card imo never been a manager in his own right to my knowledge but held court with some quality and currently assistant at the biggest club in the world…could be a surprise hit more of a gamble than Moyes but cheaper and would be used to having no control over transfers
Both better than what we have imo

Comment #63Ian asking people to appeal to Ed was proof of his innocence? It’s not likely that this was a tactic to convey that exact impression when in fact the opposite was true?
Ed admitted to me at the time that Ian/Pushy and Carl were all from the same IP address.
I posted the e-mail exchange between myself and Ed at the time to prove it, yet Ian still denied it.
I can’t and won’t take anyone seriously, and I am well within my rights to suspect dopplegangers from accounts who are not known to post regularly in support of someone whose opinions are so in the minority and divisive.
Also, you share a singular obsession with me that Ian was prone to doing. You regularly use the phrase “pseudo-intellectual” which Ian was prone to using. You may not be a doppleganger, but it is certainly not unreasonable to suspect you.
Your incredulity only serves to demonstrate your ignorance to the fact.

Comment #64The team does not NEED the support of the fans, the players NEED to perform well for themselves. If they do that on Saturday win/lose/draw then the crowd will really get behind them for the last match.
The protests need to continue, the boycott needs to continue because everything is just not good enough and it has been made that way because the fans can be relied on to turn up, come what may. Take a stand and don’t enter the stadium until your support is actually given some value.

Comment #66I’ve been going through the posts this morning and it’s should or shouldn’t we boycott.
IMO it makes no difference.
If NUFC manage to avoid relegation there’s only one winner! Mike Ashley
If we stay up it proves his gamble was worth it and he won, again
Why help him when he won’t help us himself or NUFC. He’s had plenty of opportunitys to do something but hasn’t.
I don’t want us to go down but I refuse to help him out, the team doesn’t deserve our help either after hiding since Xmas.
I can’t blame people for wanting to cheer and try and keep NUFC up, but what happens if you succeed and NUFC stays up?
I’ll tell you, another 5year plan and a load more mistakes for them to learn from.

Ibiza doesn’t make the point for you. He scores a spectacular own goal. It’s embarrassing for him.
You miss the point. If the players can raise their game, the crowd can give them a real energy and can also influence referees IMO and in the opinion of many. You appear not to accept this is possible this season. I say that’s spoken like a novice.

Comment #75Here’s what I posted lastnight from the mirror piece. If anyone’s arsed lol.
I done a Jeffrey and decided to copy and paste this from a mirror article.
“The owner won’t listen to the fans, the players aren’t listening to the manager and the fans aren’t listening to the manager’s excuses”.
“Even Steve McClaren isn’t listening to offers to join them”.
“Or maybe it’s that no-one can hear because of the noise made by a juggernaut of a club heading towards a cliff with the owner, cackling loudly, at the wheel”.
“Ashley is gambling Newcastle can keep surviving in the top flight on the cheap
It appears the contempt Mike Ashley has for Newcastle’s fans seems to grow in line with the wealth (now £3.5billion) he mostly earned from his pile ’em high, flog ’em cheap sportswear empire – the same business model he’s determined to show can work at Newcastle, despite the last eight years being strewn with evidence to the contrary”.
“It’s a game the 22nd richest Briton feels he cannot lose, a thrilling gamble aimed at showing he can buck the football system; and the fans’ emotions, not his own cash, are the chips he willingly gambles”.
Fcuking bang on.
Fat twat.

I worry that this is the sticking point for managers coming here, Carver et al have long term contracts which NUFC would need to pay off to get rid of them and I doubt they have any intention of doing that, apparently Garde wanted his own staff and was told he would have to work with the coaches we already have
Its one of the key places, imo, that NUFC has totally failed in our backroom staff is pathetic, only one with decent rating is Woodman and look at how poor our GKs look these days

I’ve shown in my post on the previous thread that you distort my views to suit yourself. You haven’t even bothered to defend yourself. It’s not about argument won. It’s about defending myself against underhand tactics. Bloggers will see it for themselves. It’s a pity you are pushing your political agenda and campaign so hard that you can’t respect the opinions of dissenters and have to resort to undermining their character.
