We were scared in case this happened, and John Carver seems to have been at it again saying some ridiculous things which can only embarrass Newcastle United, and maybe embarrass his players as well.
We’ll not even mention the fans.
John Carver – I’m the best coach in Premier League
For a guy who has the following record and has lost eight games in a row – he is not the best coach in the Premier League – but that’s what he’s said today.
This is some of what John Carver has said in his press conference:
“I still think I’m the best coach in the Premier League.” “I have got the backing of Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley and that is enough.”
“West Brom are very well organised and a threat at set-plays (oh no!!!!) but we need to win the game and have to find a way to do that.”
“It has been a tough period but I have a spring in my step and am ready to go for the next three games.”
This quote will go around the national press and maybe around the world, and John Carver is showing himself up once again – and showing up the Newcastle United club too.
And that quote about having the backing of Ashley and Charnley and that’s enough is a thinly veiled shot at what Newcastle fans think – most of whom wanted him fired last Sunday – 94% in our poll.
He should have been fired last Sunday – and now we are doomed.
With stupid comments like today’s – do you really wonder why the players have given up on him and are probably laughing at him behind his back.
John has few leadership abilities and keeps talking about himself.
We had expected that Mike Ashley and/or Lee Charnley had talked to him about some of his previous stupid comments – but we guess not.
Did I say we were doomed?
If we lose again on Saturday Carver needs to be fired, because decisive action will be necessary if Ashley wants to save the club from relegation.
But it’s all probably too late now – unless Sunderland can lose their last four games and help us out.
