Over the last few months and for teams like Burnley, QPR and Leicester City all season, these teams have been fighting against relegation, and while their players may not be top players – they give 100% and have been fighting for their clubs to keep them in the Premier League.
Some of those clubs like Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and West Brom have brought in new coaches who are more experienced for the task, and all but Sunderland are now safe from relegation, and Dick Advocaat has 7 points from their last three games.
Lee Charnley – promoted from within
So those clubs have been fighting and picking up points to avoid relegation, and that is almost the exact opposite of what has been happening at Newcastle United.
Our players are not exactly fighting 100% for the cause, and certainly Newcastle have no plans to bring in an experienced coach, and have kept the inexperienced and struggling John Carver in place as we have moved down the table quickly, with only one point from the last ten games.
It’s very difficult to be much worse than that.
So don’t say Newcastle are not loyal to their people – although they may also be stupid by letting sentiment get in the way of the real tough decisions that should have been made for the good of the club.
The other relegation sides have been fighting and picking up points this year, and for example former Newcastle coach Nigel Pearson at Leicester City has picked up 20 points in the last ten games, and so have gained a massive 19 points on Newcastle since the beginning of March.
And Alan Pardew and Crystal Place have picked up a massive 19 points on Newcastle since the beginning of the year, when he rejoined his former club and quickly saved them form relegation, and are now in 12th place just 2 points out of 10th place.
So while other clubs are fighting and picking up points for their survival Newcastle seem to be doing almost the opposite.
And because of that we deserve to be relegated, and that will teach Lee Charnley and Mike Ashley a huge lesson that their penny-pinching in January could cost the club £80M a season (based on finishing about middle of the table) next season, and the three seasons after next an average of £136M when the new £5.1B (with a B) Premier League TV deal kicks in.
That’s until Newcastle return to England’s top division – whenever that may be.
It’s all a very sad story at Newcastle United, and fans have become disenchanted with the frugal and seemingly reckless way the club is being run from the top.
That should come as no surprise to any person linked in any way with the club.
It’s a sad state of affairs on Tyneside.

Comment #41Ed – I really think that its time you considered opting for quality rather than quantity.
I think your time in the United States has seriously affected your judgement with regard to your UK audience.

‘… who got Pardew who had been hounded out by Newcastle fans …’
Mainly, Pardew left because he was offered more money and more independence. The Pardew Out campaign wasn’t the main reason he resigned.

Comment #44Mr TUFF- Just because you constantly repeat the same garbage doesn’t miraculously make it true. I remember Keegan and Robson with great respect and as having high levels of competency. These were managers who really cared about the club and brought the kind of success conmensurate with a big club and one I grew up with. You, in turn not so long ago, were heavily critical of my reference to our winning the League and the role of Hughie G who older fans such as yourself usually are proud. Your a pigmy of a fan when compared with the likes of Jinky Jimmy Smith. Instead you try to divide rather than support.
You misrepresent also my opinion of Pardew. I have always said that he is an average Premiership manager but agreed with the more discerning on here that he had become an apolgist for Ashley; that and his poor record and behaviour meant he was constantly on borrowed time. Pardew chose to leave – at a time when there was little pressure on him from fans and that really stuck in your craw.
I know you love my toon travelling tales so I have another one for you.
Pub related but a neighbour of yours was telling a tale of your problems with the RSPCA over the number of cats you have. As an animal lover I hope this is untrue because you seem to have caused a few shouting matches in your leafy suburb. Don’t bother denying because it seems that this already has traction. That’s the trouble when you tell lies people just don’t believe you when you claim to be telling the truth. Just remember a friend in need is someone you can do without is not a good mantra. You know it makes sense.
Belfast – I like your direct style. You can be depended upon to be a fair minded type and when the going gets tough- not Tuff – to add your support.

Comment #46The PardewOut campaign is the reason we aren’t bottom.
The campaign woke Pardew up and he got the team wound up and playing to save his skin.
Pardew has a poor record and plays negative, stat driven too scared to go forward until the last ten minutes dross. 🙂

Comment #48Some reports that Ashley has called a crisis meeting with him, Chanley, Stone, Woodman and Carver at a secret location

Comment #50I don’t blame Carver or Charnley.
They are symptoms of Ashley’s cheapness.
Also a mistrust of his own interviewing skills or his HR department.
Always the known internal candidate if possible.
Even if they may me well below the competence required to do the job.
We’re going nowhere until he’s gone.

Comment #56Hahahaha – must be a lazy Sunday afternoon as the Master Multiple appears, in order to have a dig, with more concocted rubbish.
Today he appears as Ian Toon -must be Finklers’,Pushy Pardew and Carls’ day off – and they’re just the names I recall.
More lies – I’ve never being critical of NUFC winning the league in the Hughie Gallacher era – but would probably be critical of your shitty posts.
You accuse me of trying to divide and conquer -no such thing -I will however challenge knackers like yourself -whose redundant message is not embraced by the majority, hence you invent other blog personalities to continue spouting your bile. More venom from the vipers nest.
You always mention and praise other bloggers in order to try and divide the blog – getting plaudits from you must be akin to getting a Christmas card from the Yorkshire Ripper – nobody wants them!
Please tell me more about the number of cats I own and about the leafy suburbs -more crap and invented tosh from the pseudo intellectual and compete tool.
Here Tibby Tibby it’s teatime.
What a knacker.

Comment #60I for one will be supporting Hull next weekend.
I know a few won’t understand.
But if it hurts Ashley in the pocket.
Devalues the club and he sells …
Otherwise we’re on another 5 year plan with one big window, then lots of empty ones … best sold and not replaced, while we watch the journeymen. Who’s falling for this one again?
Not quite as many … but how cheap are you going to let him make our club?
Relegation? Yes please if we end up Ashley-free!

Comment #66Master Multiple – come on give us a sample of what was in your letter to King Percy – just a snippit will do -just to whet our appetites.
Hahaha – you accuse me of repeating garbage I think you’ve got that wrong. You repeat the same old tired rhetoric multiplied by the number of aliases you have -which is a least half a dozen.
I suppose you’ll be busy today – writing about next weeks meeting with West Ham fans in the pub. What a bore and trickster -more slippery and slimey than an eel.
