Charnley Must Now Appoint A Talented And Experienced Coach

It’s all very emotional at the moment, with our players showing today they do have guts and fight when they put their mind to it, even though they left it to the last game of the season – but let’s be honest – it was an unbelievable win by Newcastle United today – it could only happen on Tyneside.

lee charnley close-up

Lee Charnley – will appoint new head coach soon

The way the lads played today have us asking the question – why didn’t we play like that in the previous 10 games?

And although the emotional John Carver is now saying he should get the job full time – give us a break – please.

John was the one who got us into all this trouble in the first place with one point form 10 games and some horrific performances from the team over the last three months.

And even though he seems to be good friends with Lee Charnley and Graham Carr – it would be another disastrous decision if Charnley appoints him as the permanent head coach .

If that happens we will be fighting relegation again next season.

Lee Charnley has made a cardinal error in management,  by letting sentiment get in the way of his decisions.

It’s all well and good being good friends with Carver – but Lee has to make his decision for the new head coach based on ability and experience – and John Carver doesn’t seem to have much of either, from what we have seen over the last three months.

Mike Ashley in his interview today with Sky Sports before the game, said it was Charnley’s decision to make – so Lee must appoint a top coach – and that’s not Carver – whatever the 50 year-old comes out to say today and tomorrow.

He’ll probably take credit for saving Newcastle.

On NBC Sports over here in the US today, one of the analysts Robbie Earle, said that John over the last three months has been absolutely terrible for the club,  because of his woeful man-management and being so self-centered – and making this all about himself.

Robbie said Carver needs to be sent packing from Newcastle, and that he shouldn’t have even been allowed into the club today – such is the mess and conflict he has caused in his position as interim head coach over the last three months.

Certainly he is the first manager at Newcastle to lose eight game sin a row in the Premier League.

First of all let’s be clear – we are absolutely delighted that Newcastle have stayed in the Premier League.

But if Lee Charnley appoints John Carver as the new head coach – that would be his biggest mistake as Managing Director – and he’s made enough of them over the last six months.

One of them was to appoint John Carver as interim head coach in January.

Newcastle now have the opportunity in the summer to build a top squad again, especially after the comments made today by Mike Ashley.

The head coach is by far the most important signing this summer – and Lee Charnley needs to make it a top singing – and soon too.

Why do people still oust Sissoko out, if we build around Sissoko and keep him in the AMC role he will be a bigger beast.

Players like Sissoko are very rare, only Yaya Toure is similar role to Sissoko, and with Sissoko also being at a young age he still has a lot of development.

Honestly people think before you’s hold a grudge on certain players.

I would of went for Paco Jemez but he’s extended his contract, Klopp would be amazing but will never happen, Rodgers I would give a miss.

So for me I would go for Gaiter, what Iv’e read he’s someone who can bring youths into the first team ( Zouma etc,etc ) and can develop players even better ( PEA )

But I don’t know about his playing style?

And maybe the Boro manager Karanka he’s got a nice style of football OR maybe Ed Howe?

    Suggestions?????

Don’t forget guys Charnley publicly stated he wanted a head coach who can –

1 – Develop youth player to play into the first team.

2 – Improve the existing squad development.

I hold him to his word and if Lee brings in a head coach that doesn’t have these qualities we should be on his back and the new head coach that comes in, it’s the only way we would win.

That interview by Ashley today was all planned and orchestrated man ..He’s playing you like a fiddle..I cleaned that up there,

The Interview was all planned out through the week to try and quell the planned protest against him ..he is meeting with PR advisor’s now as he knows he’s been rumbled ..not by us fans , he has no respect for us , he’s more concerned that the national media have rumbled him and sports people who have no connection with the club have voiced an opinion against him and what he has done in killing the passion and hopes and dreams of the taken for granted Supporters.. dont get me started

    Watch what happens next
    watch what happens next
Watch what happens next then go watch his Interview again.

Charnley must NOT be allowed to choose the next manager or ‘Head Coach’. The bloke hasn’t got a clue as to how to run this club on behalf of Ashley.
Ashley should continue his surprising interview presence today by putting in key personnel at the club who know the game inside out. Then give them some good money to go out and get a top manager and players. If our owner really was serious in his motives for the club he would realise that a lot of fun could be had at this club with a winning team…. and he can still make a lot of money. The place could be a heaving, exciting goldmine with fans desperate to buy merchandise etc.
Come on Ashley – you’re supposed to be a top and astute business man – why don’t you start showing it?
Wouldn’t life be much nicer than being continually hated?

The only thing Charnley and Carver should be picking in future is their teeth off the floor.
No “winning” Newcastle future involves either of these men.

Well if he can coach defence surely that’s already a massive step in the right direction looking at our GD over the last couple of seasons and wasted players like Santon and MYM?

As for Cisse im not so sure why he should be here next season, massive questions over his fitness and his discipline record through petty actions and lashing out has cost us big time yet again
Doesn’t look the same player and in all honesty when he’s not scoring he offers nothing at all
Massive rebuild needed and for me neither Cisse nor Rivvy look like they should be spear heading a PL team, they have its to their game, but neither can put in a full performance

Sorry but for me the spine needs rebuilding and the squad needs breaking down and rebuilding

How’s a good time to give Carver the news he doesn’t want to hear.

It’s common practice in the private sector to hit somebody with such news when they’re on a high. The high tempers the shock.

Although to a less egocentric person, the sack wouldn’t come as a surprise but I think we all know by now that Carver ain’t a rational person. So, the news that he’s not getting the HC job (or any coaching job would be a sensible move), will hit him but as he’s said, he’s a much better and stronger person, so he should be able to take it.

Let’s hope that the football board makes the decision and act quickly to get him out of the club.

Ashley wants value for his investment and given Carver’s cost some £24m in lost prize money, it’d be cheaper to pay up his contract than take another chance with him.

So, get on with it Charnley and when your done, call Mike Ashley who’ll tell you that your compensation and P45 will be in the post.

Go on guys, you know it makes sense.

AShley is useless. Charnley is keeping his job after this diabolical run. Putting the fox in charge of the chicken run. Keep Carver and the job will be complete. Ashley said he will continue to invest in the club. That means he will continue ti rip the club off. Geordies will swallow any old rubbish. Can anybody envisage Penfold still being in charge at Arsenal. A proper club.

Ok, I’d read the transcript, but that’s first time I’ve seen the interview, heard his voice, analysed his delivery and realised who was interviewing him.

David Craig interviewing Mike Ashley and you think that wasn’t choreographed and questions agreed in advance? David Craig was probably holding a sheet up for Ashley to read his prepared answers off – sounded like Ed Miliband, “If you’re asking me……” – nah, more than a whiff of the iffy about it. May have leads on potential buyers and that was his gambit in negotiations.
