Gutierrez The Hero – Vurnon Anita Unbelievable In 2-0 Win

We all admired Jonas Gutierrez for his gutsy fight against testicular cancer and now Jonas along with a brilliant Vurnon Anita inspired Newcastle to a fantastic 2-0 win on the last day of the season, that not only saved us but sent us up two places in the league table to 15th above Sunderland as we won with second half goals for Moussa Sissoko (54 mins) and Jonas (84 mins) himself.

jonas gutierrez

The great Jonas Gutierrez secured our safety with late goal

It was our first win in 11 games and out first clean sheet for 102 game and the Man of the Match was Vurnon Anita who not only had his best game ever for Newcastle when the chips were down but he got a fantastic ovation when he left the filed in the second half.

Newcastle missed a coup,e of great chance sin the second half but goals from Moussa Sissoko and that man Jonas Gutierrez was enough to give Newcastle a famous 2-0 win and are still a Premier League side and we finished  15th – up a couple of places which should get us a few more million from the Premier League.

It’s got to be a very well done for our players who produced when the chips were down and in reality it was our first clean sheet since we beat Villa 1-0 on February 28th.

We are so relieved – it’s just unbelievable.

We’ll have a report of the game out in a little while – but the main thing is our lads did what they had to do stay up –  they won – in what was one of our most important games for years.

The fans were fantastic – as usual.

Hull are relegated when they drew  0-0 with Manchester United.

Did I say we were relieved?

Anyone else get the feeling we have such a good team ethic, but it just hasn’t placated?

That’s what I saw today, especially when Anita came off I felt goosebumps when they were all hugging him.

Anita and Jonas were unbelievable. Why Anita hasn’t been used in the centre all season is beyond me and truly suggests how clueless Pardew and Carver are.

jonas himself deserves to be given another year at this club, what little spirit we’ve still got at this club is in himself and if we are going to really see a new cashley this is player is just what you need.

Cashley spouting usual pap to try and stop the protest today.

Really happy we aren’t relegated in the end though.

Anita played with real heart today, about time the fans that criticise him look at the bigger picture of gross mismanagement since he arrived. Was everywhere, his pressuring of the ball and tackling was outstanding.

Jonas played as if his very life depended on it, determination and will to survive personified. A man of absolute integrity. He is us. Wonderful. I can’t help but feel he must remain in some role. He gets it more than Saylor, Colback, Carver or anybody else at the club for that matter.

Looks like Ashley determined to stay, but surely even he must realise that both Charnley and Carver aren’t good enough. Credit to him for speaking up today and turning up, but now we are safe will he do anything different?

I’m absolutely fuming and disgusted at Newcastle United. I’m not going to celebrate or be relived at such rubbish. I’m really disappointed at the low turnout for the sit-in protest. As long as Ashley is there it will resemble the cancerous, empty, festering zombie that it is now. Staying up changes absolutely nothing – we still no longer deserve to call ourselves a football club.

Thank God for Jonas definitely motm today -just ahead of Anita.
If Jonas had heeded King Percy’s advice -find another club -we would have been shagged today.
At least we are safe -but what a nerve racking way to do it.
    Let’s see what happens next.

It’s Ashley’s move now, despite him saying it’s all down to his goon Charnley. Oversee the appointment of a manager and coaching staff befitting the club, clear out the mercenaries, dead wood and failures and invest in the squad – then we can move on. Anything less and the protest will continue throughout next season, the boycotts will become more numerous and we’ll be in the same position again – don’t let it happen. It’s his choice.

So now we’re left to the tender mercies of Lee Charnley to sort out the mess. God help us.

Ashley has said that he will continue to invest in the club. You fans are dumb if you think he will change his ways. He will spend 30 million to ensure safety next season and thats it. Do not be kidded by the master kidder.

Slapping Anita on the back for that performance sums up this team and some supporters judgement. He couldn’t even get it into an open goal with three players in support FFS.
10/10 for Jonas though. Honest graft and honest comments and a player of far more worth in every sense than this owner, MD, Coach and Club deserves.

    Scary thought here

Charnley will make the decision on the new manager

Charnley is so pally with Carver I dont think he’s got the bottle to sack him.

Ashley has just told us ..he takes no part in football decisions . its all about Charnley.. God help us .

Will Charnley have the bottle to sack Carver ?

ehh god what happened to our 3rd goal I did order 3 ya na 🙂 well glad all that’s over with now I have to give my brother £100 quid as I lost my bet but well worth it in the end, now its all over carver has to go simple as that and the rest of the coaching staff as well, new manager new coaching staff, change the md get rid of the lot and if mike Ashley wants success then its simple buy good decent quality players instead of cheap euro crap but I still wouldn’t trust a word he says so am sticking to my guns Ashley out ill return when hes well and truly gone

Ashley, Charnely and Carver all need to go. But of the three, I think Charnely is worst. That position of Chief Exec is so crucial, especially in these modern times where clubs have less a manager, and more a 1st team coach. the role of the Chief Exec or whatever you call them is so crucial. The top clubs all have outstanding people in those roles, so good you never hear of them.

If things don’t change for the better, then next season will be the worst season he’s ever experienced and that will be when relegation will be a certainty, media everywhere will have bad extremely bad publicity about him, managers and players everywhere will deem it the final final straw and consider him this arrogent, greedy, selfish and lieing b@stard who only cares about money, therefore the club will continue as hell and he’ll see the club certain to be relegated.

he has already got far too bad a publicity, so when coming out with statements like he did, he must mean them, if we go out the first round of any cup headlines will be speaking all about why this would happen when an owner is meant to have aimed to win, same if a player is sold and not replaced, media will be asking why he didn’t see that player replaced, they will be bugging him.
