We all admired Jonas Gutierrez for his gutsy fight against testicular cancer and now Jonas along with a brilliant Vurnon Anita inspired Newcastle to a fantastic 2-0 win on the last day of the season, that not only saved us but sent us up two places in the league table to 15th above Sunderland as we won with second half goals for Moussa Sissoko (54 mins) and Jonas (84 mins) himself.
The great Jonas Gutierrez secured our safety with late goal
It was our first win in 11 games and out first clean sheet for 102 game and the Man of the Match was Vurnon Anita who not only had his best game ever for Newcastle when the chips were down but he got a fantastic ovation when he left the filed in the second half.
Newcastle missed a coup,e of great chance sin the second half but goals from Moussa Sissoko and that man Jonas Gutierrez was enough to give Newcastle a famous 2-0 win and are still a Premier League side and we finished 15th – up a couple of places which should get us a few more million from the Premier League.
It’s got to be a very well done for our players who produced when the chips were down and in reality it was our first clean sheet since we beat Villa 1-0 on February 28th.
We are so relieved – it’s just unbelievable.
We’ll have a report of the game out in a little while – but the main thing is our lads did what they had to do stay up – they won – in what was one of our most important games for years.
The fans were fantastic – as usual.
Hull are relegated when they drew 0-0 with Manchester United.
Did I say we were relieved?

Comment #42Right no more neggers till we’ve seen what actions after Ashley’s welcome and almost desparate interview.
He said he’s been put in a place where he didn’t expect to be and he must know who’s put him there.
So if Charnley is still there in a few weeks and Carver is still manager I would have doubt about his sanity!
In the meantime I’m very very happy !

Comment #43I notice that while saying that Charnley and the Board make the footballing decisions, he quickly absolved himself of any blame in relation to hiring Pardew – virtually blamed Llambias for that.
