Let’s Dedicate This Great Win To Our Two Missing Fans

It was a wonderful display by Newcastle today in front of a packed St. James’ Park and it would be appropriate at the end of this season – which has been very tough – to dedicate this great win today to our two of our most dedicated fans – John Alder and Liam Sweeney.

john alder liam sweeney

John Alder and Liam Sweeney

John and Liam lost their lives literally supporting Newcastle United, when their passenger jet MH17 was shot down over Ukraine on Thursday July 17th, 2014 by rebels, as they were traveling to support the team in New Zealand during pre-season.

We’re sure they would have been looking down today on St. James’ Park in what was an emotional end to the season and a great display from our lads.

Rest in peace John and Liam – we will never forget you.

    players that can leave
rivere, colo, willo, raylor, gouffran, obatan, ferryra.

players i think will leave but I myself would like to keep
saylor, jonas (both great squad players and both highly passionate)
    sissoko, tiote, krul

players that i’m happy to still see in the starting team next season, who’ll be likely still here

    Ed,
This is not all he said. Try to locate the video.
No criticism today, only celebration. Plenty of time for a post-mortem to quote the big man.

Keys said big announcement coming up on Tuesday.
KK said he thinks there’s a big name coach lined up. Top on his list: Laudrup

Maybe Jonas will get his coaching badges over the summer and he’ll be our next head coach.

It’s quite literally not worth it mate.

It’ll never relinquish it’s strange and quite frankly ridiculous love for the fat toad.

Blinded by bullshit springs to mind.

It and a few others were already blinded by it but now it’s seeping from their own orifices “just wait” “see I told you”

    Sad and pathetic.

to be fair to KK, he said he has no idea. He just said on HIS list he’d have Laudrup at the very top.

That’s why fans buy season tickets and don’t boycott. I feel sorry for all you fans who can’t experience days like today. Unless you have experienced them, you’ll never get it and you’ll always be quick to call for boycotts and slag off season ticket holders whose instincts say different.

I was at the match today and obviously delighted and relieved at the result although I have to say West Ham were a poor team – I can’t remember them having a shot on target but we still had to beat them and we did 🙂
I know people are rightfully suspicious of Ashley but I thought his interview today gave me some hope for next season. Not for anything he said but simply for the fact he did it at all – it’s an indication that thing are going to change hopefully for the better.

when actually thinking about how saddening we’ll be to see such a highly passionate player leave us, image how liverpool fans are going to be feeling knowing steven gerrard himself is going to be away.

their is alot of these sort of players leaving this year

biggest and saddest one of all steven gerrard of liverpool.

next up the sadness of us knowing that jonas is likely to be leaving

cheasea will be sad to see the nd of drogba

and their is of course lampard giving it a fare well

Blackley doesn’t buy that Ashley sh1t. It shows he still hasn’t got it. He says it’s Charnley’s job to appoint the new manager. But it’s Ashley’s job to appoint the director of football. He needs to get rid of the tea boy and start from scratch with a top appointment. So it’s going to be more of the same – one daft move after another.

They’ve mentioned names that would, in there opinion show ambition or be good and it’s been jumped upon to the point we are now after them. Spread no doubt by twatter and then other platforms.

    Sorry repost

Well that’s the first time in a long while I’ve been genuinely excited jumping around my sitting room watching a game.

Jonas what a performance, Anita class act. Credit to all them out there today.

I’m an optimist so I gotta say Ashley came a cross very well in his interview, pr stunt I don’t think so. I think he meant it so I’m not going to knock the bloke for doing what we’ve all wanted him to do and state his intentions.

Moussa didn’t look to me like somebody who wants to leave both with celebration and at the end grabbing the badge on his shirt.

I’m looking forward to a good summer, carver won’t get the job and we may well be surprised at the new manager.

Everybody who cheered the lads on at the stadium, the pubs, and sitting rooms nice one.

These are the alternatives regarding Ashley’s future intentions:-

A). He was just pacifying everyone and intends to give us more of the same.
Minimum spend to stay in the PL, promote ShyteDirect and no intentions to try and compete.

B). This season scared him and he’s sick of all the criticism and negativity so will spend a decent amount to prevent a reoccurrence of this seasons debacle and try and have a bit of a go at achieving something.

C). Has finally realised that his experiment has failed and the adverse publicity has provoked him into thinking, I’ll show them that I’m no loser and has a real go to try and win something.

There’s no point looking back now, we can’t change the past , he has to take one of the options.

It would be interesting to see what people think.

I see where your coming from .

Thing is we are very Fair minded as you are yerself ..we always give people a chance , I’v seen it season after season for eight years and counting …I am of the opinion that nothing will change. I’v heard it all before .

The Sky interview was well orchestrated and worked on and rehearsed during the week ..phone calls were made ..there was nothing spontaneous about it it was all pre planned ..I mean it would have to be wouldn’t it ..who gets to talk to Ashley ! ?

All his words today will ring hollow

It was all done to quell the planned protest that would make him look bad and in turn Sports Direct..other media were ready and waiting ..but he poured water on it early doors with that pack of lies today.

He knocked the ball into Charnley’s court and said he does not make the football decisions ..do you believe that ? its his money ..more lies .

Charnley is in admin, he’s just a clerk with a fancy title ..knows nowt about the finer points of Football .. we are in his hands .

    Seen it all before.

If Carver is appointed …well…we can all give up …Yes ?

Good job west ham were sh1t. They were so bad I suspected they were trying to throw it. The point when Sissoko (?) set up Riviere for his miss it was like the left back let him go past.

Sissoko and Cisse were embarrassing. Jonas was outstanding, Anita played great, and Dummett was typical no nonsense. Riviere did well to be fair, but he’s in there to score.

manxpie @17 – To be fair he doesn’t normally do media interviews so obviously would be not quite sure where to look. I’d be surprised if he would lie on live TV which is a permanent record of his statement but as I say it’s not what he said it’s the fact he did it at all – maybe starting to realise that things have to change.

    Agree on both posts.

Laudrup no good and fatty lies for a living, well deceives people within legal limits.

Apart from that time he got found guilty of misleading the press, the public and the fans in a court of law of course 😉

If you look really closely you can see little bits of diarrhoea dribbling out 😀

Seriously though, tiny clues in facial expressions are dead giveaways such as his lips slightly pursed and pulled back trying to hide a smirk . Very hard to see but it’s there. Look at the corners of his mouth.

Direct eye contact is another. Lack of is usually a sign of lying or being deceitful especially when looking slightly down and to the left.

Online Guy @26 – Sorry I can’t agree if the interview was as orchestrated and rehearsed as you say then he would not have made grammar mistakes especially mixing his metaphors – and why would Sky be so complicit in such an arrangement.
JFA @ 23 We all know the club is in a mess but if you can’t for one evening enjoy a win and celebrate premiership survival then what is the point of being a NUFC supporter? There will be plenty time to dissect the season later.

martoon @11 —- dont get too carried away mate . one day at a time. Ashley has only done what all owners do- he gave an interview, but its taken 8 years to do it .
obviously worried about season ticket sales , he said what he had to say . why all of a sudden he wants to win something ? also it worries me that he said ” from now” that itself tells me hes admitted to not wanting to win anything over the last 8 years . what makes people think he has changed his ways?? dont hold your breath. Ashley only said what we all wanted to HEAR. , lets see what happens
