Mike Ashley Speaks To Sky Sports

Mike Ashley has given maybe his first interview on Sky Sports and he has said he will not sell the club at any price and he is the man responsible for the state of the club right now – we’re in a terrible mess.

Lee Charnley with Mike Ashley

Mike was asked who was responsible for the terrible state the club is in when we could be relegated this afternoon.

This is what Mike Ashley said:

“It stops at my door.” “My intention is definitely to win something – I won’t sell it until I do. And qualifying for the Champions League also qualifies as winning something.”

“If you’re talking about investing, I will continue the policy of investing in the football club.” “I’d like to say I would guarantee the investments, but the results I can’t guarantee.”

“The club is on a very sound financial footing so we are able to spend and punch above our weight with the financial situation the club is in.”

“Lee Charnley and the football board will be doing those decisions such as head coach. That’s not what I do. They have to get the best pound-for-pound value out of my resources.”

Maybe that’s a hint that he will really loosen the purse strings at the club – but we are concerned we could be relegated today.

If we aren’t then this interview will definitely be doing the rounds.

Ashley should speak a lot more than he’s done over the last eight years – because we just don’t know what he thinks.

On NBC Sports Robbie Earle has said John Carver is the cancer at the club and should be fired – and Robbie said he shouldn’t even have been allowed in the ground today because of the rubbish he has been spouting about himself.

The word cancer is the word Robbie used to describe John Carver.

Howay The Lads!!

    Gone flat!

I wish footballers would be smarter, like rugby union wingers recognising when they’re up against a second row, as soon as Nolan gets the ball, rush him and put a tackle in and you’ll dispossess him!

D-day and Hull attack to get the win and we put out a defensive zero flair team and are horrendous once again.

Perez, Abeid, Aarins had to be there somewhere surely…..

    graeme

having saw a speech from the man himself, i’m begging for us to win this game or manure to avoid defeat against hull.

One of my theories about this interview is that he could be making it with the expectation of newcastle themselves going down and knowing we’ll be in the championship he can still get away with doing whatever he likes and by the time we do make it back into the premier league the excuses for not being able to build that strong team is even easier to make.

    we must stay up.
