Newcastle May Change Their Policy To Sign This Player

29 year-old Andre-Pierre Gignac has tuned down a move to Russian side Dynamo Moscow, and that gives some hope to Newcastle United who have been interested in the French International striker for a number of years now.

Andre-Pierre Gignac

Andre-Pierre Gignac – Newcastle interested

Gignac will become a free agent in the summer after spending five years at Marseilles, and although he’s old for players Newcastle usually want to sign, Mike Ashley has said he will allow older players to come into the club to increase the experience of the side, even though their wages will be higher.

A week or so ago French club Montpellier said they were interested in signing the player, but maybe Gignac is holding out for a move to England and the Premier League.

Liverpool and West Ham United, who have become an ambitious club over the last year or two,  are said to be the other two English clubs interested in the player.

If Newcastle are really interested in signing Andre-Pierre,  there’s no reason since January why Newcastle cannot have met with his representatives in an attempt to agree a deal for the player who scored 23 goals in 38 appearances for Marseilles last season.

In his five seasons at the club since joining them from Toulouse in 2010, he has scored 77 goals in 186 total appearances.

Gignac has loads of skill and can score goals, and he would be a popular player if he did arrive in the summer, on say a three year deal at Newcastle – and since he’s a free agent Newcastle may be able to get a good deal on the Frenchman.

But if Liverpool want him at Anfield, we would stand little chance of getting a deal done.

But signing a player of this skill who can score goals, would be a good signing for Newcastle this summer.

Comments welcome.

Could anybody out there let me know of any other PROFESSIONAL Football club in the world, that is run by a scout and a secretary?

    repost from previous thread –

A period of stasis over the summer allows the status quo to normalize. This is dangerous in my opinion. Look at what Ashley has tried to accomplish with one short interview. Baffle the masses into a stupor whilst allowing Charnely et al the opportunity to drag us deeper into the morass. We as fans cannot allow ourselves to adopt the exact same strategy as the regime, which is to do nothing and hope all changes for the better.

I don’t have all the answers, but inactivity is not the right course. We need to compel a massive cultural shift in the way the organization is run. I would even accept the same people if there was any evidence whatsoever that ambition would replace mediocrity, that transparency would replace cloak and dagger, that actions would replace words.

I doubt any of these things will happen but simply accepting our fate by inactivity makes us complicit in the outcome, and that, dear fans, is simply unacceptable.

Lost Plot – Ha, they don’t have a loon like Carver as they are more professional. The tea lady will probably be taking the 1st team training next season. Right lads, can you balance 8 cups of Earl Grey on a tray without spilling a drop.

If that clown that was not good enough for a Championship side, gets our job then that is definitely my finish until they all pack up and leave.

Graham Carr has far too much say for an average scout.

Are we really going to let Abeid go ?? He could potentially be our best midfielder if given a run of games

Its either a sign that we are bringing in better quality or Carver has been allowed a say in who stays or goes seeing as he does not fancy playing Abeid

Also on Gignac yep I would take him but we still would need another top level striker with pace to go with him like a Lacazette or Javier Hernandez etc

Would prefer us to splash the cash on Austin though but that seems to have went quiet

I don’t get the problem with Abeid. We had a policy to buy good youth prospects, loan them out and bring them on. We have done that with Abeid, yet he has been so badly managed by Carver. He makes one mistake after looking very good the game before that and found himself dumped for Ryan Taylor.

Why do we bother with the youth system? Scrap it if that is the case.

Who is the last player that came through the youth ranks at Newcastle United?

I don’t rate this guy at all. We should be going for Mitrovic and Charlie Austin or Danny Ings etc.

Considering Gignac is a free agent he wiuld be good business. Much better than Riviere who is worse than Strolla striking the ball.

Cant believe the crack on hree.
We must of heard that there is going to be plenty of money available for players.
All i heard Ashley talk about was good pound for pound deals coming in.
WTF does he mean by that?
Our valuation of a player will be totally different to his,as will the selling club.
Its little wonder we dont get players over the LINE..

Pleased to see that others are at last starting to realise that this fella Carr is a problem. He is the only football person behind the scenes. What did he tell Ashley in January – We will be fine with Johny Chuckle as manager and let Santon leave. Almost relegated us but still trusted by Ashley.
