19 year-old Reading winger Tarique Fosu, who has played for the England U18 side seems to be attracting the attention of some Premier League clubs, with Newcastle one of the clubs said to be interested in signing the youngster, who becomes a free agent at the end of the month.
Tarique Fosu – Reading’s 19 year-old winger
He may be a free agent but Newcastle would have to pay Reading some compensation since he is under 24, but he could be one for Peter Beardsley’s Development squad for nest season.
Fosu made his debut for the Reading first team at the beginning of May in their very last game of the season, which was the 3-0 win at Derby County and was responsible for Steve McClaren’s side dropping to 8th place in the Championship and out of the play-off picture.
Tarique looks to have a very bright future ahead of him – and of course Newcastle will be looking to bring in a number of younger players for the Development squad this summer, as well as six or seven top players.
And we saw last season with Ayoze Perez – if you are good enough at Newcastle you will get your first team chance.
Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Brom are said to be the interested Premier League clubs after the youngster, and he tweeted this a few weeks ago on his Twitter account.
Big Decision To Make! ????

Newcastle need to snap up some top youngsters in England this summer – and Tarique could be one of them.

Comment #28cisse will be staying imo and i cant say i’m sad about it either as he has been the only tried and tested striker we have.
even with austin/arma/perez i think he’s more than usefull to us for next season.
arma imo should go out on loan and leave perez as our current dev player breaking into the team for when cisse leaves next season then perez will be more established and arma can be the dev player breaking into the team.

Comment #34my picks for strikers would be ;
austin (ahead of dost because he’s english)
dost
berahino
and i can only see one of them coming in as i doubt river/goofy/cisse will go.
as for wingers i hope sammy doesnt sign tbh as i dont rate him good enough or if he does sign send him straight out on loan.
i’d take;
ince (again english,young,talented and would work very well with rolando)
redmond
thurvin (highly doubtfull as value too high after his drop of form)
juanmi (last resort imo as a lot better than ober + co but not as good as rolando imo)
nice big solid cb’s please after the first striker.
