Steve McClaren Wants Manchester United Attacking Midfielder

11:18 pm, Monday, June 15th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 123 Comments

Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren is interested in signing 22 year-old Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to the Telegraph, and Steve knows all about Jesse because he was on loan at Derby County in the second half of last season.

Jesse Lingard with Steve McClaren earlier this year

Lingard came through the famous Manchester United Youth Academy, and was part of the side that won the 2010–2011 FA Youth Cup when they beat Sheffield United 6-2 in the two-legged final.

Jesse has been on loan to Leicester, Birmingham and Brighton over the last three years, as well as being on loan this year at Derby.

He has played for the Manchester United first team only once in the first game of last season against Swansea.

Last season at Derby he played 15 times and scored two goals.

Lingard has played for the England U17 team and 8 times for the England U21 side and  he’s in the England squad for the European Championships in the Czech Republic, to take place over the next two weeks.

Steve will know about Jesse and it seems he is keen to get him this summer, and it’s likely that Manchester United will sell,  but we have no idea how much he will cost – but we need at least one new attacking midfielder this summer.

We could even bring in Lingard on a season long loan deal.

Lingard has made 51 first team appearances so far in his career with 12 goals.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

22 and still being loaned out. Hmm. Sounds like a steal.

“That’s all our fans ask for. They are not asking for much more than passion and a team that’s wanting and willing to win.”

Even that, has required more investment than Ashley has been prepared to sanction. We have had plenty of genuine talent over the past seven years, but been undone time and again by the depth and quality of the cover in the squad. It’s really been the consistent want of one or two players each year. A simple failure to do enough in the transfer market, that would have been offset by greater revenues from greater success. I don’t think much needs to change other than a willingness to push the boat out a little more, and now there a really no excuses not to.

    Janmaat Van Dijk Colo Rose

    Sissoko Wijnaldum

Interesting to see how Raul Jimenez do in Copa America. Porto in pole position to sign him according to twitter. We should be in on that one.

What do you reckon they want for him. Silly money no doubt.

  • 21 Oldgit1 // Jun 16, 2015 at 12:50 AM

Mc only wants him on loan. There is no mention in papers that we want to buy him. Strewth why can’t we buy him. Spend for gods sake.

Slowly losing the will to live with this lot.

Why on earth do we want to do manure favours by giving their kids first team experience when we gave plenty if our own?

  • 24 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 12:56 AM

Its not that unrealistic if we go after these signings in earnest and commit to spending. IMO

  • 25 Oldgit1 // Jun 16, 2015 at 12:58 AM

Expat, totally agree, sick of loan players can’t recall ever keeping one in the past.theres a question have our club ever kept a loan player.

    Canny in Canberra
    Between Deulofeu style 3 m £ or Lukaku 27 m £

He’s their 4th choice striker at moment so I kind of expect it to be reasonable unless his performances in Copa America changes that.

  • 27 Online Guy // Jun 16, 2015 at 1:10 AM

You will hear plenty of names mentioned as possible signings ..we will fail for the decent ones

The clue for anyone out there hoping we sign top quality is the fact that Ashley will have around £30 million available ..and that will include wages ..What do you get for that in the transfer market today ? also rans lads ..better face it now …

At the start of the season, when the season tickets have almost , almost gone we will hear this from Charnley or the new fall guy Steve Mc ..

“Well we tried, and we have to adhere to the fair play rules so it made it difficult to get any of our targets in ..”

With a small budget lads its time to face reality..Ashley has manipulated all you hopers …Ashley will even sell a few players off to get back any money he pays out

Face it lads, you been conned…Champions league mentioned by Ashley hhahaahahahahahah !

Liverpool know how to be the best of the rest , Ing’s and Milner ..Where were we ?

Can you see what’s happening ? we would have been in for the afore above mentioned if a Champions league place was the ambition ..yes ?

    Pissing in the wind ..

I really feel sorry for you folks that live in hope, seriously ..really

  • 28 Grumpy // Jun 16, 2015 at 1:21 AM

Is Colo passed it ? he looks very slow. We need cover there for sure.

  • 29 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 1:59 AM

    Online Guy,
Don’t trouble yourself pitying me, thanks :). I am happier with things than I’ve felt in a while about NUFC. Don’t borrow trouble from the future. I’ll voice my concerns when I have some. Things will play out the way they play out regardless of our chosen optimism or your scepticism so why not take the happier path.
Grump – Always liked Colo and so take no pleasure in thinking you may be right. Time to let him get back home, where he has apparently wanted to be for a couple of years?

  • 30 Blofal // Jun 16, 2015 at 2:34 AM

My only hope is that McClaren will be pushing hard for good quality signings. If the club don’t give him the resources he will fail at Newcastle and that will be the end of his career.

So rest assured McClaren will be pushing for quality. It’s the negotiating tactics of Charnley that are going to be put to the test. Charlney generally will not budge on price and will not take risks. He will try and loan players before buying them history has shown. This hasn’t worked for us in the past.

  • 31 Jib // Jun 16, 2015 at 2:58 AM

Since 1992 (KK’s first managerial spell) only 2 players have been loaned then bought.
Brian Kilcline from Oldham and Danny Simpson from Man Utd
    Good quiz question that

  • 32 Our Toon // Jun 16, 2015 at 3:01 AM

Penfold is a yes man and he’s given a mandate by MA on all negotiations, 1st offer / top offer. I’m not surprised we haven’t bought anyone in yet. You’d think we would have potentials lined up and offers all set to go once we stayed up by the skin of our teeth. We just plod along show an interest and wait for others to swoop in and make formal offers.

  • 33 Jib // Jun 16, 2015 at 3:05 AM

I think Colo has at least a season left in him.
There are a few on here suggested him as a defensive midfielder.
I think that could work well if someone else was tasked to baby-sit the back four (or 3) and he could just concentrate on his own game.

  • 34 Jib // Jun 16, 2015 at 3:13 AM

The records show Hatem ben Arfa as a loanee at the beginning of his time on Tyneside.
However seeing as he consistently refused to return to Marseilles thats arguable.

  • 35 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 4:03 AM

    Our Toon @32
Once again applying logic to this won’t make it make any more sense.

  • 36 N1CK06 // Jun 16, 2015 at 4:05 AM

Surely Ashley must realise that he can make even more profits if he would just spend a bit more and stop trying to do everything on a budget.. Just a bit more expense and we have a more desirable club for young players, better quality football, better results, happier fans who have no reason to protest, more publicity for S.D etc. The list goes on.

We should be looking a buying (not loaning) proven young players, for example Mohamed Salah. 23 year old RW. Valued at €12m on Give him a few years in a toon shirt and see how much he can do and how much his value will increase. He’s been at Chelsea and only played 10 games with then last season scoring 2 goals and 2 assists, so there is definitely signs he can perform in the Premier League. If only things would change, I’d actually get exciting about the future of NUFC if I saw signings like this

  • 37 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 4:06 AM

Good call on Colo. He likes to get forward. Sometimes to the detriment of his defensive duties. A role further up might allow him to have a great season. He’s mates with Jonas so hopefully he’s caught some of his positivity.

  • 38 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 4:11 AM

Ed, I think we should ban any posts that start with “Why doesn’t Ashley see?” or Why can’t he understand?” People this man is a law unto himself. The laws of reason, common sense and footballing logic have ceased to exist in the NUFC kitchen. Once you get you’re head round this the whole thing is less confusing.

  • 39 nut meg // Jun 16, 2015 at 4:29 AM

Collo has been liability for the past 2 seasons at least. His role as captain has been shambolic,no leadership qualities & no organisation skills. To keep him is only denying another CB a squad place and also a reason not to expect any change this coming season. He’s been slowing down year on year so it’s a safe bet to say he won’t be getting any quicker ant time soon. We need a TOP PAIR OF CBs, he isn’t one of them.

  • 40 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:42 AM

J…that has been so obvious for quite a while!

About this player, I thought we had enough 22 who need to be registered but cannot hold down a place?

  • 41 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:43 AM

That’s because Colo is playing like a sweeper.

Other CB will make mistakes like Colo, I like Colo.
You can’t blame Colo alone, our CB didn’t get enough protection from midfield and the team can’t keep possession which resulted constant pressure on our defense.

For me, Colo is very good CB in a bad team.

  • 42 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:47 AM

Canny #29…because it’s not health to delude yourself and who are you to delude others?

  • 43 willowdalerez // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:47 AM

All we know about Jesse Lingard is that he is 22 and hasn’t cracked top flight with Man U so he is not going to be a future star… still they haven’t sold him yet so he must offer something and he obviously played well under McClaren at Derby… Given that he could be a good signing (we definitely can use some options at midfield) but only as a minor signing / loan… What will prove the “New” ambition of the club is when the likes of Charlie “it’s a done deal… except that it isn’t” Austin don our kit… Until then the overhaul of the coaching staff is putting lipstick on a pig. Get in there McClaren.. you got your staff abd a position on the board now get our owner to open his wallet!

To me Austin is the key. I don’t yet rate him 15m (but he will fetch that easily) but as our high profile main target if we can’t bring him over the line then what does that say of our new ambition. He’s been as much as promised to us now we have to pay up.

  • 44 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:53 AM

  • 47 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:04 AM

J – Not implying anything of the sort. Simply responding to some one who was telling me I shouldn’t be positive.
My point was feeling either way now will have little impact on the way things work out and its my choice to see the glass as half full. If others don’t then that’s there choice and will only impact them. That’s not my concern.

  • 50 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:15 AM

Willow…I can see the reluctance teams outside the top 4 have in paying £15M for Austin.

…you are potentially buying a one season PL wonder. And if he’s going to be a club’s main buy then you’ll have to be as sure as you can be.

If Dost is £9.5M I hope we go for him because that would still make it possible to sign another forward.

  • 56 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:38 AM

What happened to getting MvG on loan? Reports were saying that was virtually done, now we have downgraded to Lindgard on loan? From what I have seen he plays mainly on the left or as an attacking midfielder. Why get a Man U kid on loan when we potentially have Aarons who plays that role (and Sammi if he signs) or is Lindgard now the big hope for our central creative midfield role?

What happened with appointing staff? Anyone in yet? I’m sure McClaren said he wanted his staff in place by Monday, what is the sticking point?

  • 57 nut meg // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:39 AM

Would Dost not represent a bigger gamble @ 9.5m as he’s never played in the PL.The reports I’ve read seem to say Dost is a confidence player who’s form is up & down with long runs of games without scoring or contributing much to the team. Austin on the other hand has scored goals everywhere he’s been, a record of a goal every two games.IMHO Austin would be a safer bet to score goals in the PL than Dost.

  • 60 firebug666 // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:44 AM

    Ah yes, the sticking point?

I think the sticking point can be summed up in two words.

    Lee Charnley.

A managing director who is responsible for getting the deals done, or in his case dragging his heals while trying to work out what Ashley meant by “pound for pound”.

  • 61 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:44 AM

I agree, I think Austin would be a very good signing. Not convinced by the £15million price tag, but he will get goals, has done all his career at all levels. He offers more than Dost and already knows the league. Hopefully the hold up is due to international duty, although it wouldn’t be difficult to go meet him and his agent briefly and sort it out while he is on international time, they get plenty of free time on international duty.

  • 62 Canny in Canberra // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:44 AM

Whatever QPR or the person writing that article which didn’t name us solely but in a group with pretty much the rest of the league, says until its him saying us, then its all just second hand smoke.

  • 63 Ron Knee // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:48 AM

    What happened?
The board are in a bit of a cleft stick over buying new players. Operating on the Bare Minimum model, perhaps they’re trying to decide how many of the existing under-achievers can be salvaged by McClaren before ‘splashing out’ on new ones.

  • 64 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:49 AM

his twitter indicates that he’s on holiday, perhaps when he returns. Nobody wants to talk business on holiday after 1 year of work.

  • 65 bobby mango // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:52 AM

Starting to get left behind with transfers again.
If no one signs by the end of this week (and I’d be surprised if they do) it shows not much has changed.
The most inept bunch in the premier league.

  • 66 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:52 AM

It won’t have anything to do with the transfer window. Clubs are able to agree and announce deals anytime. The window is only when the relevant authorities will register them. Hence other clubs having already announced done deals.

You think Charnley is at fault for the appointment of coaching staff? I’m not sure on that. I’d imagine there is probably a lot more to it. Maybe wage restrictions are playing a part, maybe other requests from the club are causing the issue, who knows.

I’ve read on a few other sites a couple of interesting comments regarding the assistant coming in probably being the next manager. McClaren grooming someone to take over as he steps to a DoF role, more in keeping with a place on the board.

The other thing that should already be underway is the training ground development. Has it even started? It was meant to start in May.

  • 67 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:54 AM

I agree but I feel the same way, I think he wants NUFC move especially after so many good news from NUFC and this club wants him more than others.
Especially after that tweet regarding 260 Shearer goals. There are others who has scored more goals or great English goal scorers.

  • 68 Thump // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:56 AM

@nut meg: I follow the Bundesliga and yeah, he very much is a confidence player. Hell, the only reason he even got regular starts is because it was between him and Bendtner. The issue with Dost is that he’s had fantastic support from the widemen… something he will not get here.

  • 69 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:57 AM

    Ron Knee,
None of the current underachievers are first team though, except Woodman. McClaren said he wanted them in place by Monday, so is this the same sot of control and power he will wield when having his ‘say’ in buying players?

When Pardew came in we operated without an assistant for a month. It took a month for our recruitment process to identify Carver as the ‘right man’ to work with Pardew.

  • 70 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 6:58 AM

NUFC are not famous with announcement of done deals probably has some bad experience like Remy deal.
Regarding 15 mil price tag, it’s their right to put the price tag. Like Bamford for 10, AC for 35, overvalued but that’s the price if you want him.

  • 71 Ron Knee // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:02 AM

I can already hear the PR people trumpeting the first FOUR NEW FACES: Darlow and Lascelles from Forest together with the ‘as new’ Aarons and SDJ!

  • 72 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:06 AM

There many example for Austin to look at about moving to NUFC. Demba Ba, AC, Remy, Cabaye, all became great at NUFC and sucked big time after moving to top clubs. Future example will be sissoko.

nut meg…the difference to me is the level at which they both have played. For me Dost is a player of much higher level and experience.

Austin’s one season in the PL counts for nothing to me. He could be a one season wonder for all we now.

I cannot say which character will be the better call…maybe non of them 🙂 They both seem good players to me if the price are right. Not advocating penny pinching – see my earlier post on the subject.

  • 76 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:16 AM

    Good news from the club?

From what I saw of Dost’s record for goals in a season, last season and his last in Holland were his only 2 decent returns out of 7, never seems to do well when he first joins a club either.

  • 77 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:17 AM

After looking at Bas Dost goals, he is good finisher, positioning, and very calm with chances.
    Similar to Huntelaar.

    Ron Knee,
I think I mentioned that somewhere else. I bet that by those looking to make the regime look better the two forest lads will be double counted as signings. They were included in the incomings last year, and will be again this year.

  • 80 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:19 AM

good news : many changes after last season and good interview from Ashley.

did you upgrade version? that could be a problem.
there’s suppose to be a way to turn off autocomplete even in windows mobile.
Search at google about that problem usually there is a way to fix it in tech forums.

  • 82 Ron Knee // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:23 AM

For a lot of supporters signing Austin has become a test of Ashley’s recent declaration. If Charmless manages to sign Austin then perhaps Fatso’s words are more than just PR spin. I have my doubts!

  • 83 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:23 AM

By bad experience like the Remy deal, do you mean the fact that they didn’t get him to sign? They never announced it, newspapers were talking about it, the club didn’t. After the event Pardew did say they thought they had done the deal.

This is why getting Austin to put pen to paper asap is the important thing, if he had done that, it would be announced. Until they do that then there is a very good chance he ends up elsewhere.

  • 84 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:23 AM

Santon…Dost is a player of proven high level, but line any other player he’ll need the right style and right support!

…Austin is not a one man army himself 😉

  • 85 Toonfan8 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:24 AM

if it is between Dost and Austin, would prefer Austin…better allround player and proven in EPL…but then priority must be CB, because we are short there and we have to bring at least one…and good one…

Sorry, don’t agree on that. The many changes are only good if they aren’t purely cosmetic. So far, I see nothing to make me think anything has improved. McClaren is a good coach, but is another vote for stability.

Everything that has been said recently was all said when Pardew was appointed. I don’t think many are buying what the club are selling anymore, and footballers agents will know that, so they will be after assurances and guarantees which until people see action, are empty words.

  • 89 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:30 AM

Firebug…that should mean big trouble for QPR!

…but knowing your FA it probably won’t!

  • 90 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:31 AM

Surely the punishment there is normally docked points, QPR went down bottom, so I doubt docked points is much of a punishment.

From some of the QPR fans I’ve spoken to over the past 6 months, they would probably have preferred him to have been booted out earlier!

  • 91 Ron Knee // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:31 AM

I agree. Sorting out the defence is the priority. Think how badly Krul played and how rattled he looked with that defence in front of him!

  • 92 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:32 AM

Abotu the whole remy deal, what happen at last minute. Good if they didn’t make announcement, it’s good example not to do it. wouldn’t it be stupid if they did then he switched to other club? I never read pardew said that tbh.
Dude, Austin is on holiday. You are asking Charnley to go there and ask him to sign?

Dost and Austin will be great combination, especially if we are planning to put a lot of crosses in.

  • 93 tequilamag // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:33 AM

Not seen his German games but the youtube highlights of his good Dutch season were mostly inside the 6 yard box or pens neither of which we seem to get much of. There were 3 headers but he did no look like a massive threat in the air.
He seems to be a poacher more than anything and I think Cisse offers more inside and outside the box.. Austin may only have done it for one season but he has done it. 15 mill may seem a lot for Newcastle but in the scheme of things it is not that high.Arsenal paid 16 mill for callum Chambers as a squad defender.

  • 94 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:35 AM

I’m one of the optimist group, I see that as good news. You on the other hand belong to different group, you see it differently, that’s up to you.

  • 95 firebug666 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:35 AM

Could be a hefty fine (to pay for the FA Xmas party), and docked points. But the repercussions could be much more complex given he played all season.

  • 96 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:36 AM

On holiday? He is going to Royal Ascot today, which means he is definitely in the UK.

We understand #NUFC officials are meeting directly with Charlie Austin and his agent today

  • 98 LGFUAD21 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:39 AM

I find it amazing on here how people write players off if they arent first team stars by 22

Not everyone is a sterling, Barkley, Neymar, wilshere

By that logic Spurs should’ve shipped Harry Kane off to Cambridge Utd two years ago.

I also find it terribly ironic that the same people that are saying this about lingaard (at Man U no less) also want Austin who wa barely a professional at 22.

  • 99 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:42 AM

The think that it makes me wonder the most is how on earth did nobody at the FA, Premier League or even the Home Office pick up on such a high profile case? Surely the FA have some sort of registration database that flags up these issues? Utter incompetence at all levels.

Even QPR, surely part of the administrative teams jobs is to know when these issues are occurring, or surely the Prem should have picked up when the squads are registered.

QPR, the FA and the Prem should all be fined for gross incompetence, and the money given to grassroots.

  • 100 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:44 AM

Best get in early morning before the booze starts flowing at Ascot! Offer Charlie the signing on bonus in cash so he has more to play with at the Geegees.

  • 101 Toonfan8 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:44 AM

I prefer younger players, hungry ones, with potential…and Lingaard or van Ginkel, I want them here…it is step in right direction if we bring these kind of players…CB has to be proven one, not only talented, we need a leader there, someone like Skrtel,Shawcross….

  • 102 BandB // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:45 AM

I see you are sceptical that the media partners will expect the truth for their money.
Well, they will. Whether “cute as a box of monkeys” Mike understands that is another matter.
My point was that the Mirror group hasn’t just signed up to be the propaganda arm on Sports Direct. At least, not deliberately.

  • 103 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:45 AM

I said that when people were saying Arma would never cut it earlier in the season. Kane never even made a first team appearance at Spurs until he was 20.

  • 104 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:49 AM

I don’t see any loan signing of another Prem youngster as a good deal unless there is an agreed purchase clause at the end of it, that we can trigger. Otherwise if he does well we are just developing him at the expense of our own youngsters.

Lindgaard isn’t good enough to be our main creative central midfielder, so is likely to be used on the left wing. A position we have Aarons and possibly Sammi available in. Why develop someone else’s youth product when we have our own that need developing?

  • 105 Santon03 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:49 AM

so.. if he’s not outside England then it’s not in the holiday category, understood.

  • 106 Bambams // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:50 AM

Is anyone else getting rerouted to ‘’
It’s becoming so annoying I don’t want to come onto the blog

  • 107 firebug666 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:52 AM

Or maybe let him get a few drinks down his neck first to make him more playable in the talks. pmsl @ giving him his signing on fee in cash.

Charnley seen at cashpoint in Ascot.

  • 108 Toonfan8 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:52 AM

I agree with you, loan them only with clausule to buy, if they will be good enough…otherwise not

  • 109 Thump // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:54 AM

@Lilo: Bang on. I like him, he has the ability to be a really classy forward… but he also has the ability to be another Obertan.

  • 110 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:55 AM

Most players are on holiday from season end till the start of pre season.

  • 111 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:56 AM

Charnley at cashpoint? More likely Charnley seen rummaging down the back of the VIP area sofas….

  • 112 firebug666 // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:57 AM

Players also take a break from their hols to have a medical and sign a new deal.

  • 113 mickalfas // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:57 AM

Charnleys on the way to ascot with a couple of bags of donnay socks and lonsdale boxers as a sweetener
How can Austin say no !!

  • 114 Ron Knee // Jun 16, 2015 at 7:58 AM

Charmless in a top hat. What a picture!

  • 118 Lilongwe Geordie // Jun 16, 2015 at 8:03 AM

Apparently the new third kit. Getting closer and closer to a red, blue and white…

  • 119 mindshaft // Jun 16, 2015 at 8:09 AM

It isn’t possible for NUFC nor any other club to make actual signings – the transfer window isn’t even open until July

  • 120 firebug666 // Jun 16, 2015 at 8:17 AM

The transfer window officially opened on 10th June mate, registration starts on July 1st.

  • 121 mickalfas // Jun 16, 2015 at 8:20 AM

    Charnley at the caspoint lol
That would definitely be an insufficient funds moment

  • 122 Jib // Jun 16, 2015 at 8:22 AM

    On Sandro at QPR
Quite a few teams in the past have been punished by starting a season with a points deduction.
Get some money on QPR going down again.

  • 123 ulstertoon // Jun 16, 2015 at 5:42 PM

Bas Dost is a signing I would be happy with only if we had quality wingers to supply him the ball, lingard is too young and inexperienced to come into a a club the state Newcastle is in as a first team player, if he came in as a future first team player and came on as a sub, I would be happy enough but if he is our highest ambition for that position I will despair
