Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren is interested in signing 22 year-old Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to the Telegraph, and Steve knows all about Jesse because he was on loan at Derby County in the second half of last season.

Lingard came through the famous Manchester United Youth Academy, and was part of the side that won the 2010–2011 FA Youth Cup when they beat Sheffield United 6-2 in the two-legged final.
Jesse has been on loan to Leicester, Birmingham and Brighton over the last three years, as well as being on loan this year at Derby.
He has played for the Manchester United first team only once in the first game of last season against Swansea.
Last season at Derby he played 15 times and scored two goals.
Lingard has played for the England U17 team and 8 times for the England U21 side and he’s in the England squad for the European Championships in the Czech Republic, to take place over the next two weeks.
Steve will know about Jesse and it seems he is keen to get him this summer, and it’s likely that Manchester United will sell, but we have no idea how much he will cost – but we need at least one new attacking midfielder this summer.
We could even bring in Lingard on a season long loan deal.
Lingard has made 51 first team appearances so far in his career with 12 goals.
