Newcastle were linked with 22 year-old Sparta Prague winger Ladislav Krejci last week, and news today in the Chronicle is that he wants to join Newcastle.
Former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek is the goalkeeping coach at Prague, and he has revealed today that Ladislav has talked about moving to Newcastle this summer, and wants the move.
Ladislav Krejci – 22 year-old Czech Republic winger
This is what Pavel has said in the Chronicle:
“We have talked about the Newcastle interest and there may be something there.” “Krejci is a left winger and a very, very good player.”
“The season before last he was absolutely fantastic – maybe last year he needed to do a little bit better but the whole team was not at its best.”
“Newcastle fans would like a player like him, he is a real entertainer.” “Of course he is keen. We had a few conversations and he was excited a club like Newcastle was linked with him.”
“I have told him all about Newcastle because it is a fantastic club to play for.” “I don’t know whether anything has happened this summer but of course I would recommend it if anything happens.”
We had thought that maybe Pavel had been involved and told Newcastle about the good form of the youngster, and the former Newcastle goalkeeper will have given Ladislav a glowing reference about Newcastle United.
It looks like Newcastle have been in talks with the player who has 13 full caps for the Czech Republic, and is currently in his home country representing them in the European U21 Championships.
Last season he played 37 games with 7 goals and 6 assists and has played a total of 126 games for his home town club with 27 goals and 26 assists.
