Czech Republic International Keen On Move To Newcastle

Newcastle were linked with 22 year-old Sparta Prague winger Ladislav Krejci last week, and news today in the Chronicle is that he wants to join Newcastle.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek is the goalkeeping coach at Prague, and he has revealed today that Ladislav has talked about moving to Newcastle this summer, and wants the move.

This is what Pavel has said in the Chronicle:

“We have talked about the Newcastle interest and there may be something there.” “Krejci is a left winger and a very, very good player.”

“The season before last he was absolutely fantastic – maybe last year he needed to do a little bit better but the whole team was not at its best.”

“Newcastle fans would like a player like him, he is a real entertainer.” “Of course he is keen. We had a few conversations and he was excited a club like Newcastle was linked with him.”

“I have told him all about Newcastle because it is a fantastic club to play for.” “I don’t know whether anything has happened this summer but of course I would recommend it if anything happens.”

We had thought that maybe Pavel had been involved and told Newcastle about the good form of the youngster, and the former Newcastle goalkeeper will have given Ladislav a glowing reference about Newcastle United.

It looks like Newcastle have been in talks with the player who has 13 full caps for the Czech Republic, and is currently in his home country representing them in the European U21 Championships.

Last season he played 37 games with 7 goals and 6 assists and has played a total of 126 games for his home town club with 27 goals and 26 assists.

What do you think?

Now this is a real club ambassador… not Moncur who sold himself for a bag of peanuts.

If the tittletattle is true about Woodman snr going to Palace as GK coach, I’d love to think Pav would come back and take over from him

Can only be true if he has either played for McClaren or in the German League, Dutch League or the English Championship.

Harper is a good shout but I’m not sure if he has his badges or not. How true this next bit is I’m not sure and it is a golf club reference.

A very good friend of mine was speaking to Harper at Slayley Hall course not too long ago and was asking him what his plans were. Harpers response was “think I might take a year or so off to see if I can get down to scratch”
Like I say, how true that is I am not sure, my friend does try to toss an exaggerated whopper about every so often. Me personally, I think this is one of those whoppers

Harper was with one of the ones who spoke up with Barton, Nolan, Big Andy, and Smith apparently. I think it was Barton that said that they all swiftly left, and CH was let go because he couldn’t get the team to follow Ashley’s orders about bonuses. Who knows…

There’s two words which you should know. The first word is Ashley, the second is out.

As a combination, it provides us with the useful saying, Ashley out.

Pav lived in Princes meadow off of Kenton Road for a while.
I got the impression his missus didn’t like England.
The kids of the area (Pavel was great with the local bairns) would knock on his door.
This rather attractive tall blonde would answer and bellow
“Pavel he eez not here – GO AVAY”

and its same old story so far also with a lot of players already gone to other clubs.

I suppose if you have the time, the money and love golf why not. To me, he always came across as the relaxed type who would not get involved in the dirty business of coaching even if it was only goal keeping.

Krejci looks like a good target – skillful, pacey and could cross a ball to 6’5 Dost waiting in the centre with Perez maybe Cisse ready to pounce on knock downs etc .
What’s more unlike some others the night clubs of London and taking a ride on a big shiny wheel are of no interest.
He might actually be a footballer and with Pav on the scene in some role that makes sense. Someone ( but not Ashley ) may actually be thinking about our team unity – Dost could join a Dutch ensemble and others from Czech, Germany etc would fit in well. They are first and foremost footballers and not C list wannabe celebs who think London or Manchester is where it’s at. It’s not. Add A few strong minded Brits and with the core of the existing team we might just have a strong squad – let’s hope so

We can be LINKED with everyone and his DOG ! But if the club don,t get a Freeking move on then Swansea and and Southampton and West Ham will be poaching and Outbidding us for every Target we go for or even express an Interest in ?

Leave the Czech and bring back Pavel as our goalkeeping coach and eventual manager?
