Wijnaldum Speaks About Newcastle Transfer

The way transfers work is that the two clubs first agree a fee,  and when that fee is agreed the buying club can talk to the player and his representatives and they an discuss terms.

Once those are agreed to then the medical takes place – and if the player passes the medical he then signs the contract.

That’s that way it’s supposed to work,  but in these days of mass communications via  social media,  it doesn’t always happen that way but news today that Georginio Wijnaldum and his representatives want to play it exactly that way.

Georginio Wijnaldum – Newcastle have to agree fee with PSV first

Georginio has just returned to training today at PSV, and it looks like he’s been updated fully on the situation with Newcastle, and this is what he has said about it:

“The clubs must first reach an agreement.¨ “I hear a lot of rumors but as long as nothing has become finalized, I focus on my job at PSV.”

“My agent will inform me when something is about to materialize and only then will I start to consider the offer and take a decision – but not now.”

So we still have to get past the first hurdle – to agree a fee with PSV.

There was news earlier today that Newcastle are willing to pay him as much as £60K/week to get him to Newcastle, and he could even become the top wage-earner at the club,

That’s good news because at least Newcastle would be seen to be willing to spend some money to get a top player to Tyneside.

It’s just taking a long time – which is par for the course for Newcastle these days.

As we kept saying last summer, Newcastle make it look so damned difficult to sign players in any transfer window – which is not unlike some other Premier League clubs – and they have less money than Newcastle.

We really have to become more aggressive and more decisive in order to get these top men to Newcastle.

Three notes  (make that hints if you like) to Lee Charnley:

  1. He who hesitates is lost
  2. Faint heart never won fair maiden (make that top player)
  3. Fortune favors the brave

Go for it Lee – please!!

Oliver Kemen should only be going on way – into the first team squad, Cup matches and some League games.
Emerging players get game time with other clubs so McLaren needs to flex his muscles on this one.

    Wijnaldum – anyone got a pen – that’s what’s needed to sign a contract.
Austin – some Deep Heat for his shoulder should get the deal done.

Pirlo joins Villa and Lampard at NYCFC. Even the MLS is a greater attraction than NUFC.

What a silly thing to say
Pirlo is 36 and off to the Elephants graveyard
He would last about 10 minutes in the EPL

When we are quibbling over a £600,000 fee for Ivan Toney is it any wonder 1) We cant attract top players and 2) Any player wants to leave due to lack of ambition.

Not saying we would want him, or any of the other cronies heading to the MLS. Just pointing out that the MLS is becoming more attractive for certain players. Look at Giovinco who joined Toronto from Juventus.

Its all about the money. Usa is a final pay-day. Much like the far and middle east.

Exciting news! Important club statement from Lee Charnley:
“I just want to make it clear to all the concerned supporters out there. The club will continue to put in the lowest bids possible for players. We will NOT, repeat, NOT be panicked into actually buying players!!!” Harrumph

To give us unwarranted benefit of the doubt, and playing devil’s advocate, perhaps nearly getting relegated hasn’t helped in convincing players to join. Of course it’s the clubs fault entirely that we nearly got relegated, but if indeed we are after the caliber of players that have been linked, then it’s perhaps understandable that it is taking a while.

I see Josh Macechechechecheran is going to leave chelsea and sign for brentford in the champs. This seems to happen to a lot of international u21s. They lose their form because they play for teams they have very little hope of breaking into in any meaningful way.

It is quite understandable that we are experiencing difficulty signing good players. As it stands it may take another 4 or 5 years to get one or two decent lads in. Or possibly the day after Mike sells the club. Whichever comes first. Harrumph.

We are going to be in the black once again after this transfer window! If we buy, then we will sell for twice the value! It’s all part of the master plan. I can’t believe you lot sometimes. Hoping Sissoko is not on his way out to accommodate new Mid. IF that happens its not growing the team and gaining in strength..its just like for like and no advancement ..if its windajulum (spelling) then its SQ ..
