Report: Thauvin Ready To Push For Move This Summer

There is a report in le10sport today that Newcastle target Marseilles winger Florian Thauvin may be getting itchy feet, and may want to leave the club this summer.

The report is that Florian is a little bit concerned about what’s happening at the French club – with a number of top players already leaving the club this summer,  with Marseilles needing to sell to get themselves out of their current financial difficulties.

Florian Thauvin – concerned about Marseilles

Florian is said to be hesitant to stay with the club who have lost a number of their executives this summer,  and have already sold several of their best players – Andre-Pierre Gignac, Dimitri Payet, Andre Ayew and Giannelli Imbula.

There are also doubts as to whether Nicolas Nkoulou and Steve Mandanda will be staying at the club,  which is one reason Florian seems to be a little concerned.

Newcastle will be watching the situation carefully,  but le10sport also reported late last week that it’s their understanding Florian is not all that keen to join Newcastle.

Last May, Florian Thauvin had this to say about his position at Marseilles:

“Regarding my future, we do not know what can happen. We do not know the position of the club in late season.”

“I will see what will happen and if the club needs money and whether I must be sold – but my position is to succeed at OM . “

Newcastle are supposed to have bid €15M (£10.6M) for the midfielder, but it’s not clear if Marseilles have accepted that bid or turned it down.

Even if Marseilles accept the bid,  it could still be difficult for Newcastle to persuade the 22 year-old to join the club, if last week’s report is accurate.

The best chance Newcastle have is to move in (very) quickly and get him tied up before other bigger clubs come in after him.

But unfortunately you cannot accuse Newcastle of being anything but indecisive and slow in this summer’s transfer window.

But it still may be good news that Florian could now push for a move away from Marseilles this summer.

Over to you Lee Charnley – perhaps have four cups of  very strong black Italian coffee (I love the stuff) – and then get on the phone with Marseilles.

That could do it.

🙂

Cheers for the elucidation re the three Ameobi’s guys.

So is it Tomi who is going on loan to Cardiff and not Sammy.

Is the Gateshead game being shown anywhere?

If you look through the named 25man squads over the last several years all of them have youth team players who never had or got a chance for the 1st team.

Now and again they got on the bench or thrown in the deep end in a cup game.

Go through the squads and I’ll guarantee there’s at least one who never got a sniff and hadn’t looked like getting one before being named in the squad.

I had to change the name a lot to make it work…. it’s really Titus Flavius Vespasianus, known as Vespasian. Founded the Flavian Dynasty

We’ve lost executives Thorian mate. And we’ve lost most of our best players over the last few years. But don’t let that rattle you….No…..errmm just sign on the dotted line and don’t bother to read the fine print (it’s just something about not actually being paid in any recognized European currency or something, I read it……it mentioned zlotties…..but I digress!!!! Just sign for us Thorian mate!!!!!

I reckon I’d rather have £s than Euro’s at the moment.

There’s got to be some bargains in the Greek league.

C’mon Mike show us your predatory side and snaffle some bargains in the Greek fire sale. It’s what you do isn’t it.

Last year Vukic plus Ferreya and Guiterez was put in the squad despite being surplus to requirements.

    Season before Tavrrnier

Season before that Xisco Jimenez Anilfitano.

There’s more if you look, basically because we lack quality in numbers it’s always bumped up with players/kids who have no chance.

    @18 op

    aye i agree

bought players should only ever be starting 11 quality not squad players and youth players should go on loan untill they are ready to step up and only then do they become squad players.

its a shame we have half a squad of duff players that no one will buy though.

Easiest way to say it is.

Due to the amount of sub standard players in the 25man named squad any potentially decent kid can’t go on loan as there’s a chance he’ll have to fill the spot of a sub standard older player.

Which IMO is down to money as Ashley mustn’t like paying the level that’s required to have some sort of talent or expirience as back up. Instead he uses the kids to try and plug the gaps.

Which IMO ends up being detrimental to the progress of our youth players, Sammys loan is several years to late.

If we were relegated ,we’d struggle big time to get out of the championship with this squad
A major overhaul is needed, which is not going to happen

Each time we sign a significant player and show our intent then other players such as Thauvin will be more impressed and want to be part of an exciting future. Charney and McLaren need to project that ambition and get some key player signed – the rest should follow .
    Sell the dream !

I know people are saying we need to be keeping players and improve the overall standard of the squad but Sissoko can’t leave for me.

If we’re holding out for 12 how much did they offer ?

Essex Geordie Bill – I find it incredible if people don’t know a story they just make something up e.g. JiB. The real story is Sammy is going to Cardiff on loan as we all know BUT before it was official his sister Titi (yes that’s her real name 🙂 ) gave the game away on her twitter account i.e.

Everyday I think tomorrows the day, it has to be. So much gossip, so many assurances by idiots on twitter. Then with each refresh throughout the day hope fades. Until the evening gloom descends.

Being a newcastle fan is bullshit sometimes.

Ah well, maybe tomorrows the day…………..

There is as much rumour building surrounding Kemen as the links we are to Wijnadum.
If Ashley is after clearing St james park next season, I would suggest he is going about it the right way

Ferguson, Elliot, Vuckic, Willo, Goofran, Bigirama should be binned, all have struggled to make a mark and are below level we need. Sammy an all, whose already gone.

I know Sissoko didn’t have the best season but still remains one of our better players. Selling the lad yet again would prove that nothing has changed regarding the philosophy of selling our best players at every opportunity for a profit.

James Milner will playing a central role next season. I really doubt their interested in Sissoko tbh

They’ll buy Benteke and that’s them done.
