Chelsea Reported After Mitrovic In Last Minute Deal

The Star is reporting tonight – in what they call an exclusive – that Chelsea have become interested in the Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, even though they are keen on bringing Barcelona’s Pedro to London.

And it seems whichever striker is brought in will in all likelihood be number three behind Diego Costa and on loan Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who has been given the Chelsea number 9 shirt.

But the report doesn’t even mention that his agent and his brother and younger brother were at Newcastle last Friday looking at the facilities and Newcastle have matched the Anderlecht fee and offered Mitrovic a five year deal, and really don’t report on the progress made by Newcastle over the last week.

They are saying Aleksandar is asking for £60K/week in wages.

They report  Swansea and Newcastle are both interested – but Newcastle are more than just interested.

This report would have been accurate two weeks ago about the status of Mitrovic and the interest of some English clubs.

This seems to be an entirely Chelsea-based report suggesting that Mitrovic may be a good target for Chelsea, if they  cannot get Pedro.

And that’s even through they have already brought in Falcao on loan and Pedro is very likely to be the next through the door.

Jose Mourinho also plays one striker up front in a variation of a 4-5-1 formation, so Mitrovic may not get too many games at Stamford Bridge as Loic Remy found out last season.

Of course if Chelsea really do want Mitrovic – they will probably sign him.

But it’s difficult to give this report much credence, without many facts being provided.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

We’ll be OK next season when Riviere, Cisse and Perez get 30 goals apiece ,to make up for the 60 plus goals the defence let in
    Top 8 it is then!

What the fat man dont see is that we used to be able to attract top players due to our reputation in the game.
He cashed that in for profit,we are now reaping the rewards.

anyone know what this kid means by “wants CL football” does he want ride the pine or actually play? he cant think hell get in a real game over costa or falcao right? Im mean its pretty clear why chelsy took falcao on. Jose wants to show the world he is the man and he can make VGs “problem” and allstar.

So. If Porto AND Chelsea bid for Mitrovic, both being accepted by Anderlecht he’d have a dilemma.

Which ECL club does he choose?

Easy, he’ll take the middle road and come to SJP……

Or not as the case may be!

Come on Belfast Austin is decent the serb is on a complete different level though, it’s laughable to even try to rationalise the debate. Let’s hope whoever comes in hits the ground running!!

Anyway the most important thing is buying CB’S. Think Wij will improve us, hopefully we act quick now to resolve the CB conundrum.

We look at the players that have left to join CL teams they weren’t half bad for us were they?

    Remy
    Cabaye
    Ba

Look at the ones who don’t want to move and are happy staying.

    Obertan
    Willo
    Gouffran

Give me an ambitious player over a no hoper who’s happy with what he has.
