8:45 am, Friday, July 17th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 22 Comments

Here’s something that Georginio has posted on his Twitter account as he trains in Sacramento for the game tomorrow night agaisnt Sacramento Republic, and he smashes the ball home in training with his left foot just inside the upright.

Tim Krul – where were you?.

Shades of things to come from the Dutch International.

If mitrovic goes to Chelsea he’ll hardly play even his dad could see that surely
They have really good strikers there and don’t need him to be fair

Austin is much better than Cisse regardless of comparing their goals/mins ratio last season. Cisse although he does look to have improved in these early pre-season games is one of the worst footballers to ever play in the prem but does have the ability of being in right place at right time. Austin has this ability also but his overall game and link up play is 10x better than cisse’s so instead of being down to 10 men when cisse is not scoring we will actually have a player who can cause problems up front (when not scoring).

    honest fan,
The reports have always said that Mitrovic’s number one choice is Porto. If that is the case the lad is clearly valuing his development over money. Refreshing to see and I wouldn’t begrudge him that.

It is Austin that is said to be waiting to see if Chelsea firm up their initial reported interest.

I’d rather sign Austin than Mitrovic. I would much rather have a strong, Premier League tested forward than an unknown… Then again, maybe we’ll get both 😉

    Great goal.
    And what was Krul doing?
Plus Colocinni falls over without getting in a tackle and the two players on the right just vanish.
    We need defenders.

    Nufc 83

You must not have watched much of QPR last season, by himself upfront Austin was less affective than cisse, it’s only when Zamora was next to him did he actually have someone to do the battling for him.

Why do our fans rate Austin more than QPR fans who’ve seen him week in week out?

Ahaha Colo falling over is hilarious!! Defence please

  • 8 honest fan // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:01 AM

We’ll have to see be interesting if he did choose Chelsea tho what kind of response he’d get at SJP

We should have gone for Darren Bent then as well seeing as he was cheaper, he’s tried and tested more than Austin in the prem. Wouldn’t you agree?

Austin cant play like a lone striker. Mitrovic is a good player but if he doesnt want to come why drag. I have a feeling we will leave ourselves with a striker and we stay with our Cisse.

    Our Toon

Looks like Ferguson (?) decides to follow Obertan.
    Very nice shot though.

  • 12 Our Toon // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:06 AM

Benteke record under Sherwood, I thought it was good but bloody hell. 13 games 11 goals, considering under lambert it was 16 games 2 goals

Just goes to show what a big difference ideology has when a team sets up completely differently

  • 13 Our Toon // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:09 AM

Alex Ferguson once said Obertan is the best player at the club on the training ground….he gets stage fright though when playing in front of a crowd.

BandB – I’ll have to watch it again buddy.

Anyone know when that match will be on? Will it be 12 tomorrow night?

  • 15 Lilongwe Geordie // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:11 AM

Ha, that was my first thoughts when watching it. Great finish but what on earth are the defenders doing backing off and allowing him the space to get that shot in.

    honest fan,
I doubt he will get much of a reaction at all. Why would he? He has no loyalties to Newcastle, and can sign for who he wants.

Nice movement by obertan. To clear the way for Wijnaldum to draw Fergie away.

    our toon

exactly. hopefully we’ll now finally move away from the god awful long ball containing rubbish and see some actual pass and move football being played at long last.

Trouble is even a team with KK’s attacking principles couldn’t cover for colo, willo and saylor.

For those not wanting mitrovic here’s the latest from players we didn’t want to spend that little bit extra for that added quality

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dortmund have said they want in excess of 30m after Arsenal are linked with player

Lacazette, another player Arsenal are linked to, his club say he’s available for 35m

Wilfred Bony recently joined Citeh for 25m rising to 28m/30m

OT don`t think money is the issue he just does not want to come..

  • 20 will die for the toon army // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:22 AM

    Motrovic doesnt want to me

  • 21 musomag // Jul 17, 2015 at 9:25 AM

BandB – spot on with that video, great goal but not a real defender in sight. Krul didn’t even flinch. Let’s hope the rest of the PL is so mesmerised by Gini they forget how to play too.

Our Toon – QPR have watched Austin & Co getting beat week in week out and then get relegated. I’ll never know how we survived, we need as much help as we can get but we are definitely blinded by desperation. If Austin does need a strike partner then SM’s 4231 isn’t’ going to be very effective. Cisse was at his best when when Ba was on the pitch creating problems

  • 22 TudorCrisps // Jul 17, 2015 at 10:26 AM

to ask where Krul was is basically taking amazing goal away from Wijnaldum, It is played in slow motion and is still a thunderbolt so to be played normal speed… You just dont stop those
