Newcastle Want Chelsea Player On Loan

The Telegraph is reporting that Newcastle are interested in 20 year-old Dutch U21 International Nathan Ake, who joined Chelsea in 2010 at the age of 15, and now it seems that Jose Mourinho would be willing to loan out a player who is very versatile and can play in midfield or in defense.

The left footed player can play defensive midfield, center-back or left back as well as in left midfield, although he seems a bit short at 5ft 11ins to play in central defense these days.

Nathan Ake in action in early June for Chelsea at Sydney FC

Ake made his Premier League debut in December 2012 against Norwich City as a 17-year-old, replacing Juan Mata in stoppage time,  and he made his first start for the London club in the FA Cup in February 2013, in a 2–0 win against Championship side Middlesbrough.

He has played 12 times in total for the Chelsea first team, and 40 times for the Chelsea U21 side.

In late March of this year he was loaned out to Championship club Reading for a month, and he made 5 league appearances for them before returning to Chelsea.

Newcastle now have five Dutch Internationals in the team – Daryl Janmaat, Tim Krul, Vurnon Anita, Siem de Jong and new signing Georginio Wijnaldum – so the Chelsea manager may think Newcastle would be a good destination for him next season.

And of course head coach Steve McClaren has plenty of experience managing Dutch players with his toe stints as the FC Twente manager.

But we’re not sure where Newcastle would play Nathan – we suppose maybe at center-back or most likely at left back.

But we have two young lads in Massadio Haidara and Paul Dummett who will need games at left-back to develop on Tyneside next season.

Maybe he could play in defensive midfield if Cheick Tiote leaves – but Moussa Sissoko played there for Toulouse before arriving at Newcastle, so he could fit in there – Jack Colback can also do a good job in that position.

So Nathan Ake could be a good player in the making – but were not sure where Newcastle could use him next season.

We’ll know better once our transfers in are completed this summer, and after Mitrovic hopefully is signed  in the next day.

After that we still need three more players brought in and maybe two of those are central defenders.

Nathan has played for all the Dutch Youth sides including 13 appearances with two goals for the Dutch U21 side.

What do you think?

Maybe the fact we have so many Dutch players and a manager who won the Dutch league might tip the scales in our favour.

I have said this once before, but I am going to say it again.
I believe Ashley would like to see us qualify for the Champions’ League.
The most excited I’ve been in his tenure was when he put up the cash, to the surprise of us all, to buy Cisse.
I think he was convinced he could score the goals to get us there.
It failed. We all saw the Ba, Cisse conundrum being hopelessly mismanaged.
But when we failed, we fell into the bunker of the Europa League.
I wouldn’t blame Ashley if he looks at that competition and thinks WTF?
    It has skewed the Premiership.
It has made seventh place the most competitive finishing spot in the league after top three, as many more teams than us think twice about whether they want all that hassle for so little reward.
It should not be a booby prize for the failed CL teams.
It should be a competition in its own right and the teams that fail in the qualifying stages of the CL should not get a repechage in the Europa League.
    It’s unfair and anti-competitive.

This Mitrovic kid had better be good after all the fuss. I remember when we signed Hearts top scorer John Robertson and some people were even tipping us for the title. Robertson was a flop. That’s one of the reasons I never get excited about new signings. I seem to recall going to Everton full of high expectation on on the first day of the season having signed Robertson, Hodges, Beasant and Thorn. We got stuffed 4 – 0.

The transfer for Mitrovic is in its final phase. He is currently in London to sign a contract & undergo a medical. http://www.nieuwsblad.be/sportwereld/cnt/dmf20150718_01782336

    repost

    After Mbemba –
    1) A quality two footed winger – weren’t we linked with someone who fitted the bill earlier last week ?
    2) Van Dijk or Rudiger – the other classy CB
    3) Ideally Banega

Would rather a two footed wide player than Austin if Mitty signs

I think that argument had huge relevancy 3 seasons ago , but now with the unreal money in the prem , clubs are prepared to give cups a go solely for the kudos.

I don’t see this player coming on loan to us as mourhino expects his players to play he would be a back up left back up here when it would be better to send him to a championship team.

I think it is still relevant.
They made an extra qualifying spot open last year under the Fair Play rules.
West Ham were set to “benefit.”
You could almost imagine Fat Sam telling his players to go out and kick anything that threw a shadow.

“The conclusion of the clan Mitrovic was clear: Porto, AS Roma and Benfica also interested in the services of the front, can never align with the proposal of Newcastle. After seeing the figures of the contract, it cannot but agree that Mitrovic received a monster proposal from the English leaders.

Newcastle offers a net annual salary of €2.4 million to the top scorer title in the Pro League. It will also affect large bonuses: 10,000 pounds (€ 11,700) in case of draw and 20,000 pounds (€ 23,500) in case of victory. In addition to a villa and a car made available by the club, Newcastle also pay a signing bonus of €2m. Enough to accept a season (minimum) without European Cup more easily to the ambitious Serbian striker”

    So Fatman came through ?.

I agree on the EL, the champions league drop outs shouldn’t join the EL it belittles the completion. It’s also unfair due to the cash advantage the drop outs bring from the CL.

Is there any other completion in the world were if you fail you get another shot at glory in another one?

If they did the same for the World Cup England may stand a chance of winning something.

If Mitrovic is in London having his medical I’d say it’s because they want to fly him straight to the USA for the last week.

It would explain why it’s been suggested his parents have been looking at houses.

They’ll sort that so he ready and settled.

Just guessing obviously with things that others have suggested.
