Glen Roeder and Tim Krul after great performance

Tim Krul has now spent 10 years at Newcastle.

Take a look at his debut performance as an 18 year-old in the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) 1-0 win at Palermo on 2nd November, 2006 – just 16 months after he joined Newcastle.

Notice a young 20 year-old James Milner (now at Liverpool) congratulating him at the end of the game.

I thought Tims 10th was already done tody?

  • 5 Tsunki // Jul 20, 2015 at 10:59 PM

Yeah we had him saving goals against spuds. Ed, have you got a contractual quota to fill?

  • 6 kevymartins // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:01 PM

So much for £10m for Mitrovic Sky sports saying £3m. I would expect us to defo go for Austin aswell if he only cost £3m.

That night was brilliant. Was honestly expecting a bit of a hammering with the 18 year old in goal but he amazed me that night. Yeah, he was wobbly on certain things but it seemed obvious he would go far. Think he could have developed even more in the right set-up but he is a class goalkeeper nevertheless.

Kevy – must be a typo eh? – reported at 13million isn’t it?

  • 9 overtheline // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:04 PM

Ever Banega a DM upgrade. Keep Anita he’s better than he’s given credit for and in a passing side will fit well.
Tiote is past his sell by date

  • 10 Belfast // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:04 PM

    13 million apparently Kevy.

  • 11 Tsunki // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:05 PM

£3m? Hmm. Wonder what his wages will be then? Sell on clause? Bonus payments? Transfer trigger?

    I wonder……..

I think in darlow, krul actually has some competition now

  • 13 Tsunki // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:06 PM

£3m? I could afford that and Im skint.

  • 14 voodoo85 // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:06 PM

Some tin-hats on twitter saying we have only paid £3m for Mitrovic as Partizan get a percentage of profit. Therefore Partizan wont get so much, then we overpay for Mbemba by £10m

Can just imagine it going down well with Partizan if we announce signing Mbemba for £18m-£20m (to basically pay for Mitrovic as well)

Some people just love a conspiracy theory lol

  • 15 Tsunki // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:06 PM

    Maybe its £30m 😀

  • 16 kevymartins // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:06 PM

@belfast I thought that to but just after seeing them say on ssn £3m when they showed the video of him going for his medical so where would they be getting that from?

  • 17 Mister Tuff // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:07 PM

Still nothing on the official site – must be announcing it in the morning.
There was a good feature on the official site about a lad from Sacremento who has been a Toon fan for 20 years. He’s such a die hard fan he’s got his car number plate as NUFCFAN. A good story.

  • 19 Belfast // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:08 PM

  • 20 Tsunki // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:09 PM

Honestly unless hes getting a Lambo and a party bag of M&M`s with the brown ones taken out delivered to his Belgravia Apartment every week, I seriously doubt he` d have turned down Porto or even Macclesfield Town.

Some guy recorded it and tweeted it.dont know if it’ll work but here is link to it..

  • 23 VanToonMan // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:13 PM

Haven’t seen much of rudiger, mbemba and abdennour – how do they rank/compare with each other?

TFL- I haven’t heard what happened to you but I am glad you’re here and okay.

On the never-seemed-to end- Mitrovic saga I am really buzzing that it’s on a happy ending for the toon!

Had serious doubts that it would ever happen and always prefered him to Austin once we were linked.

Has Ashley turned a page and starting a new chapter?.. It certainly feels that way. I just love this excitement with quality signings again, God how I’ve missed that!!

I am going to enjoy this moment and hope it continues. Maybe Ashley has realised that apart from him wanting to keeping getting his TV money every season, that he actually does want to Win Something! Who knows but if he keeps investing in this ambitious manner I will have to believe him and forgive him.

I never thought we would go after the quality of players we have been after, let alone actually spending in excess of 12M on a player let alone two in week!

Let the good times roll!.. Now just get us a couple of monster defenders worth their weight in gold and we have the makings of a quality team.

‘Maybe Ashley has realised ….that he actually does want to Win Something’

think it’s always business decisions and now is the right time.

Never fear, just read that Shaqiri’s been pictured with a terrorist back home in Kosovo… that’s convinced me, he’s defo our next signing! You’ll have to be content with sub Rolando, this lad’s connected, don’t provoke him or he’ll go all Hughie G on ye (touch line, borderline, mainline…).

  • 27 kevymartins // Jul 20, 2015 at 11:23 PM

Suppose it’s probably a mistake on Sky sports end but we will probably never know nufc usually make near all our signings undisclosed. It wouldn’t surprise me if that £13m figure was a tad excagarated though.

The German press are hinting central defender Antonio Rüdiger of VfB Stuttgart is now the target for NUFC after other clubs (Chelsea , Man U , Atletico) backed off after news of his lay off for 4 weeks . He had a long spell out in winter and it is the same knee. The German club requires around €18 million. He was Newcastles preferred target before Matip but with CL clubs sniffing it was thought we had no chance , but it seems once again the Toon is prepared to gamble on a crock. It was originally feared to be his ACL but Stuttgart are saying it is just a Meniscus tear.
He is only 22 and already has 6 full caps for Germany defo one for the future.

You are off your trolley with that comment! Krul was bought from FC Den Haag for around 700,000 in 2005 when he was 17 !

He is now widely recognised as one of the best keepers in Europe and could feasibly be sold for around 20 Mil if Manure and Louis came in for him?

I can only assume that you are joking with your dumb and totally wide of the mark comment! Oh yeh, maybe you would sell him for half of the above stated amount?
