Latest News On Mbemba’s Move To Newcastle

The Northern Echo are reporting today that Newcastle are close to agreeing an £8M deal with Anderlecht for center-back Chancel Mbemba, but the deal is proving to be more complex than the Mitrovic deal, which will be announced today.

The Belgium press are reporting the deal is for €10M, which is about £7M, and that’s a fairly decent price for a (very) good player in  a position we must strengthen.

The news today is that Newcastle will not move ahead with the deal for the 20 yea-old defender until they are sure they can get him a work permit.

Mbemba was born in Kinshasa in DR Congo allegedly in August of 1994, and the FA have just toughened their regulations two months ago, for clubs signing players from non-European Union countries, who are outside the current FIFA top 50 world rankings.

The Northern Echo is reporting Newcastle are trying to understand how a work permit application would be received – but DR Congo are currently ranked in 47th place in the latest FIFA rankings.

So we don’t see where the problem is – other than Newcastle should wrap up the deal quickly and get a work permit for the lad before the next FIFA rankings come out within the month.

The Belgium press are reporting this is a done deal, so hopefully the transfer can go through sooner rather than later, and he wants to join Newcastle and his former team-mate Aleksandar on Tyneside.

And from what we’ve seen of Aleksandar since he arrived on Tyneside, he looks like he’s just delighted to be coming, which is different from all the reports that he only wanted to join a Champions League club and was resisting joining Newcastle United.

Maybe it’s all the messages he’s received on his Facebook page from the delighted Newcastle fans, since the deal was announced in Belgium last Saturday.

There’s certainly a huge buzz going on about this lad who seems just perfect for Newcastle.

And we now know he looks great in that Newcastle strip.

We would recommend that Aleksandar not be allowed to go for a walk in the Bigg market anytime soon, he’d be mobbed and might get injured.

Mbemba would be another great signing for us – however old he is – but he certainly looks older than the 20 he’s supposed to be.

Comments welcome.

I think there is a chance the ‘massive signing’ being rumoured by Ryder could be …..

    Alexandre Pato.

Absolutely sensational player on his day.

really not fussed about austin, especially at that daft price. another type of striker like a berahino possibly but we do already have perez.

If we have another 15M then any one of Abdennouur, veltman, rutiger, n’kolou is a must. At the very least Dunk. the thought of another season of saylor, willo and colo gives me night tremors

We have room for 3 players if we loan Good. Mbemba and Mitrovic are under 21 players.

Obertan and Goufran are good back up with experience and ok to be on the bench.

Cabella and Rivere give them one more season.

Ship out Willo, Elliott, Mauvuex, Vuckic.

Although i don’t believe we will sign pato, it isnt outside the realms of possibility, he’s no longer a top drawer player, look at his record in Brazil after milan, he has been stale for at least 2 and a half years. He wont go any higher than a southampton/west ham club and if we continue buying like we are at the minute, we can be considered as ambitious as them.

That said i wouldn’t even have pato, i dont think he would be able to cope with the prem and money could be better spent elsewhere

I cant see us getting Mr Duck, anyway. Other teams will be wayyýy ahead of us. I do think his style would compliment Mitrovic, but its unlikely to happen.

    I reposted this:

    March 18, 2015

I’ll probably just crow unbearably when Ashley unveils a new coach and some squad reconstruction in June, while the AvC’s and Firebugs will pretend their stayaway tactics made it happen (though they denied it would ever happen).

    You riposted this:

Yes the loathsome remake boydonegood claiming responsibilty for the inevitable, like promising there will be a full moon in the future, while slackness of jaw helps him overlook that it was indeed prophesied not long before his post that an imbecile ashley supporter would come along for his `victory` shout. Bravo, moron. Bravo.

I didn’t appreciate being called worse than sh*te when I gave my take on Ashley’s probable plans back in Feb/Mar, which have proved to be entirely correct, as has my take on the subsequent attitude of the sh*tslingers. FYI I am a one-name poster, not a “loathsome remake”, and in no way an Ashley “supporter”. I suggest that those whose predictions have been totally wrong are the imbeciles. And it is now time to pull the chain on your endless outpouring of excrement.

Mitrovic is described as not particularly quick.

That being the case can he play as a lone striker.
If not how will SM set us up.
Most top teams now play 4 3 3 or some would say 4 5 1.

    Any ideas.

    Complication with the Mitrovic deal!

There was a PlayStation in the hospital, he was challenged to a match by an unnamed PL Chairman.

3 players we could realistically attract to get us into the top 4 of the premier league?
None, that would be virtually impossible unless we somehow managed to tap up the next 3 messis at 17 and waited 5 years, even then….

The problem with jst buying Mbemba, Mitrovic, Thauvin and Wijnaldum is that if one gets injured or doesnt work out we r back to our ikd players which I have no trust in any more.

I trust the Coaching staff but as right now I see no improvement yet.
Sissoko, Obertan and Goufrann are still headless chickens. Cisse aint scoring any goals. De Jong cant work with bad players.

Squad reconstruction in June, we have one over the line, and another very close and we are 3 weeks into July. We were always going to have to buy this summer, but there was more reconstruction last summer than this. We still have the gutless backbone of last season, and have failed to ship out much deadwood so far. It has hardly been major surgery to the squad, and we are still woefully short of quality and/or numbers in several positions.

The coach we got had turned us down in Jan, and again near the end of the season, it is uncertain whether we would have been able to get him had a Championship club decided he was not up to the task at hand there. Whilst I think McClaren is a very good training ground coach, he has struggled in a managerial capacity more than he has succeeded.

I’m not sure there are any grounds for ‘crowing’ in the slightest. This post isn’t meant to be negative, there are certainly some encouraging signs – Cathro being the main one in the back room staff and then Mitrovic and Wijnaldum.

There is a lot of work to do to make this squad competitive for silver ware and at the top end of the table. If we don’t complete the job, then we will see the best players leaving in a year or two and we will be back where we started once again.
