Alan Shearer didn’t waste much time after Aleksandar Mitrovic was announced this morning as the second Newcastle signing of the season, to send him a message of welcome and support.
Mitrovic was our second signing of the summer – this time for £12.5M from Anderlecht.
Alan Shearer at Newcastle – can’t help scoring
Here’s a tweet he sent to the young Aleksandar – and that will cheer the 20 year-old up since it’s coming from his hero – although he doesn’t need much cheering up at the moment.
He’s delighted to finally be joining Newcastle, the club he supported as a boy.
Welcome to @NUFC #AleksandarMitrovi? If you score goals at this club, the fans will adore you. I hope you have as much fun as I did!

Comment #1How much would Ben Yedder cost?
Bit surprised he’s still at Toulouse.

Is he out of contract ?! Thought it was next year ? What negligence if we have allowed him to run out of contract same with Aarons we should have him sorted these players potentially could be top quality with the right coaching

Comment #4Think Kemen has 1yr left be a shame to lose him.
Still hard to tell what will happen with Marveaux and Tiote, neither have much value now but will both be on good wages.
Vuckic and Ferguson will surely leave and hopefully Wilo and Obertan.

Comment #5Yarmolenko – 26 games – 14 goals and 14 assist. Rumoured fee 13.5 m £ and 1 year left on contract. Stoke seem to be leading the race for now.
But we were linked with him when fee was higher and Tottenham and Liverpool was more keen.
Andre Carrillo – 32 games – 5 goals and 15 assists. 1 year left on contract. Sporting trying to get him to sign new contract. Also mostly Stoke linked at the moment but we were heavily linked in January.

Not according to Transfermarkt mate and they are normally spot on with contract dates unless we have the option of extending it by a year but that’s never been mentioned
As I say no real loss though

Comment #7If Mitro turns out half as good as Sir Alan then we have one hell of a forward on our hands.
I wonder who this phantom player is who will shock us all if it comes off that we all keep plugging ??

Comment #9Well said Your Shearness: it’s aal aboot the Als! Hard to predict what else is to come without knowing SMc’s true preferences. Anybody know how much he really does tinker with formation dependent on the opposition?

Comment #10If spurs have turned their interest to Berahino from Javier Hernandez maybe we should put a cheeky 7m bid in for Hernandez. 27 is a bit beyond our age limits but he’s got a good enough record for that to be waved.

Comment #13This is what Milans director of footy said

Comment #14Hernandez won’t come here to be a bench warmer, we have enough forwards now and need to concentrate on a 2 CB’s, DM, FB & a Winger.
Sheer incompetence the way we’ve handled the whole Kemen issue, this lad looks very good we should have sent him out on loan last year and kept him happy.

Comment #16read the articles in the chronicle and first italian article about kemen. what rubbish written . the chronic said he has had no involvment in the pre season friendlies. he would have had a job he was paying in the u 19 euros. the italian article said he was 21 and had just reached the semis at the euros it was the final. probably as much truth in the rest of it.
