Clear-Out At Newcastle – Coloccini And Cisse For Sale

Mark Douglas in the Chronicle today is reporting that Newcastle will let a number of players leave this summer, and he names Mike Williamson, Yoan Gouffran, Mehdi Abeid, Gabriel Obertan, Sylvain Marveaux, Papiss Cisse and captain Fabricio Coloccini as being available for transfer for the right fee.

Leeds United were interested in signing Williamson early in the summer, but that deal didn’t go through, and it was because Leeds United’s bid wasn’t big enough.

Fabricio Coloccini final whislte Chelsea 2-1

Fabricio Coloccini – available for transfer

Haris Vuckic is not on the list, yet he wasn’t on the American tour so maybe we will see him play tomorrow at Sheffield United?

It looks like Steve McClaren is going to have a clear-out of the fringe players, and with Fab Coloccini likely moving to Crystal Palace or even back to Buenos Aries, Steve will need to name a new Newcastle captain for the upcoming season.

Daryl Janmaat was a huge favorite in the poll we conducted earlier this summer.

Who Should Be Newcastle's Captain Next Season?

No offers have come in for any of those players yet, and it could be the latter half of August before any of the players leave the club.

It looks like Newcastle are concentrating on younger players,  and it could be the end for Coloccini (33), Williamson (31) and Cisse (30) who are all in their thirties.

Local lad Steven Taylor will stay, and we will also have Jamaal Lascelles and hopefully Chancel Mbemba by Monday – so those are the center-backs we will have next season.

We also have Curtis Good, but he’s still having trouble with that injury he picked up playing for Australia for the first time in March of last year.

That injury really needs to be fixed because when he’s fit the left-footed Curtis is a decent enough young player, but injuries have halted his progress at Newcastle.

Newcastle will bring in one more center-back and he should be tall – maybe 6’4″ – like former top target Douglas who’s now at Dynamo Moscow and McClaren coached at FC Twente,  or Joel Matip of Schalke.

Aymen Abdennour from Monaco would also be a tremendous signing for us.

Former Aston Villa and Birmingham manager Alex McLeish gives a great interview in the Chronicle today, and says Newcastle have got two top players from Anderlecht in Mitrovic and Mbemba.

Alex coached Genk last season and  says that while Chancel isn’t that tall at around 6′ – he’s a very good header of the ball,  and can get up high to head them away.

It looks like it’s really going to be a new team next season for Newcastle – and we definitely need Charlie Austin brought in and another top center-back.

Sounds good to us.

I think the best idea is to take the lads on a picnic somewhere like, I dunno er…Papua New Guinea, and just leave Willo behind. I haven’t a clue where his value of just short of. £2 m comes from but if we got what we paid for him, less than half that, we’d all be laughing. Win-win I’d say.

After some of the trash we had to endure from some of these players last season we should start with some sackings.

Although Ashley is use to selling sh!te so sit back people this could take a while.

I think there are few more motivating forces in an ambitious sportsman’s life than a good old contract cancellation. That’s a decent list the chronic has imagined there, although I just have a feeling Abeid could be made into something. Maybe one of those dolls that hold a toilet roll. No seriously I think it’s a shame he can’t be integrated in your the squad.

So if Coloccini is for sale, that means we will be getting a new captain.

We have a few good candidates for that position, wonder who McClaren will choose?

There’s only going to be championship clubs who may bid for our dead wood and they’ll never meet MA valuations, so we may be stuck with them.

Looking at half the list I would say that Age Discrimination is evident !
    Abeid deserves to stay.
Will Colos lass fancy living on South America or London ?
Cisse has earned his pay off in the sun which will be less demanding on his knees. If he’s on his way then Rolan needs to be signed as his replacement .
Most of what’s happening seems to make sense – it’s almost worrying.
I’m off for a lie down.

    Abied 1m
The rest except cisse all 2m including ad ons.

Cisse 7m plus 2-3m add ons = happy days as these players will have to be paid loyalty by nufc I think these rough amounts.

Colo-250k-400k ( last year of contract)
Cisse-300-400k (has two years left and top goal scorer over last years)
Willo,obertan,Goufran-250k ( not on big bucks but only play to cover injuries)

No sure what abied and Marveux would get as been on loan etc.

Mind I remember coming home after having a kidney out and trying to sleep upright for a couple of weeks. Not so great.

Colo and Cisse and Tiote and Sissoko will all go to balance the books / get the high earners off the books and pay for the next two signings.

We don’t need Colo anymore as two new centre halves coming in (and he’s old and sh!te!) , we don’t need Cisse anymore because he’s too similar to Mitrovic, we don’t need Tiote anymore with Winj / Colback / Anita all doing that role, and sissoko has good value and no place in the team either so will help balance the books

Not sure this list is correct, we still need a cb defensive leader, until that happens collo is the man for that. I do think they are trying to replace cisse with Rolan but I’d be happy if cisse stays.
As for the others abeid etc should be loaned and not sold.

Hang on hang on haaaaaanng on. Colo is a bottler of derbies. A want-away. A mealy mouthed management suck-up. A silent dull excuse of a captain. That’s why I would like him to just go, and hand that armband over. But one thing he isn’t is a crap CB. He’s been suffering the effects of trying to hold together a back line in which only Janmaat has had a clue where he is and what day it is. He’s still our best CB at the club, and if we got another good CB and LB we’d be laughing. LAUGHING I TELLS YA!

    Tsunki,
I couldn’t find it on Google but it was after the Wigan game.
Anybody wondering why Ian Toon is accused of having multiple accounts and had been for awhile before this bizarre series of posts, here’s why:
From posts 52 onwards. The muppet was clearly hung over and forgetting to change accounts when talking to himself. For months previously he (Ian Toon) had been using pushy pardew to big himself up and agree with his arguments, using pushy pardew to have a go at me was a favourite of his.
    http://www.nufcblog.com/2012/12/04/latest-update-on-injuries-to-tiote-santon-and-ba/
This is why he has invented the character sack Llambias to try and claim it is actually me that is a multiple.
    Weirdo.

So Colo and Willo out and Taylor (who can’t go two games without being out for months) is left?
Seems like we need three top central defenders if that’s the case. Wouldn’t like to rely on Good and Dummett.
If all these players are being dispensed with we’re going to be pretty shorn of the squad seeing as it’s taken us months to sign just two players – even if they are good ones.
Seems like Charnley has to get his a**e into gear a lot faster if we aren’t going to start the season short of manpower again.
