Newcastle Have Bid Rejected For 20 Year-Old Frenchman

Newcastle made some efforts in the January transfer window to sign AC Milan midfielder M’Baye Niang, but we were not successful in signing the 20 year-old,  who is a French U21 International and well regarded by Chief Scout Graham Carr.

Mbaye Niang

M’Baye Niang – 20 year-old 6ft French U21 International

Niang signed for AC Milan in 2012 but in the three years at the Italian powerhouse he has found it difficult to get games, although of course he’s still a young player.

He’s played 38 times for Milan and the Italian press are reporting we have had a bid turned down by the club.

Newcastle also were reported to have a bid for the players turned down in January and we’ve been tracking this player for some time now.

Niang started his career at Caen back in 2007, and joined Milan in the summer of 2012 on a three year contract, with Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham being three of the other English clubs – as well as Newcastle – interested in the winger at that time.

He has been on loan at Montpellier and Genoa to get games and at the French club from January he appeared 22 times with 5 goals and 2 assists and while at Genoa from January of late year he appeared 14 times with 5 goals and 3 assists.

It certainly seems that Newcastle ant this player on Tyneside as one for the future, so maybe we will go back in with a bigger bid?

All calculations based on single 220 kilowatt biomass boiler with new LPG back-up boiler as per Barrow Hall installation and worst case scenario of building a purpose built boiler-room fuel store if existing boiler room too small
Upgrades to internal systems not included in this estimated price. Only priced in 4100 kilowatts of energy per tonne of biomass fuel to keep estimates conservative
Cost of 8.3p per litre shows existing boilers are very in-efficient

Derek // Jul 28, 2015 at 3:25 PM Take that 50m and subtract the total amount we got for Cabaye, Debuchy, Mbiwa and Santon and how much is remaining?

    Have you forgot ….

Last summer we spent c£33M on Cabella, Jammnat, De Jong, Riviere, Perez, Darlow and Lascelles + signing on fees for Colback.

Because only Darlow and Lascelles were loaned out and De Jong, Riviere and Cabella only got three Prem goals between them its easy to forget the money spent last summer.

I dont understand this, Ed… are you saying our January bid was refused, or we have had one refused this summer? The headline suggest the latter, but the article suggest the former.

hahahahaha…that’s what happens when you’re doing quotes and blogging at the same time

    meant to say….

IMO the deals to sell Colo and Tiote and Sissoko and Cisse have already been done but this year we’re doing it the right way round and not selling anyone until we’ve got all the players we want signed up first.

Once a striker and CB have been recruited, I think we’ll be selling the above to save on wages and get some money back into the coffers and I think we’ll get circa 32 million for those four and get rid of 240 grand a week in wages.

The squad we have now with another striker and another CB means all the above mentioned players are redundant IMO

Just what we need, another midfielder, let’s hope this has no truth to it and that all our efforts are being focused on bringing in a top class centre half, to address a decades old issue of being terrible at the back

    bills-son,

No I didnt forget, its just the wording of the last article makes it seem its a huge shock that Ashley is spending enormous amounts of money on additions to the squad.. but in reality 1) they are more like replacements to what we lost rather than additions, and 2) the net spend by Ashley, even if he forks out 50m this window, is not that great when you add up the last couple of seasons of outgoings/ingoings.

Love the way the fact we spent money last season is brought up toothy an justify Ashley’s approach to running the club.

What we did last season, in fact what we have done over the past few seasons has seen us close to being relegated for a second time under Ashley.

It speaks volumes when an average manager like Pardew walks away from the biggest clubs he’s ever managerpd and is ever liked to manager because of the poor way we have been run.

So please, let’s not try and make excuses for Ashleys actions

Why are people mad when we get linked to mids… especially young ones. Yes we need defense the MOST but this team needs added depth everywhere. It would be nice to sign some quality youngsters who can contribute when needed (off the bench, cups, cards, etc) that actually have potential to evolve into starters. They are cheaper now.

I’m very impressed and, admit it, you are too.

Now, what shirt to wear in the CL games…

actually Niang sometimes played as a striker for Milan and he is very very quick. he was playing as a striker in CL against barca. so he is not really a midfielder.

He did walk away though, he had what, five years left on his contract? and he walked away for a club like Palace all because he was derided by the fans and left out to dry by his boss, not saying I blame him , just saying it all comes down to how Ashley runs this club

djuricic looks a bit special. every time i see him he’s impressive. he really can create. Maybe serbia is where it’s at at the moment.

really don’t see the fuss over austin at all. 15m should be going towards one of rutiger, veltman, dunk, matip, nkolou, but sadly no longer abdennour.

Pardew was derided by the fans because he is a bang average manager who thought the squad was good enough for Europe when many of us could see it would be lucky to avoid relegation.

Jack in reality pardew walked out having kept his end of the bargain. Not one national journalist called him a failure, unlike some of the screamers here, many of whom predicted relegation for palace, completely incorrectly. I didnt like his football ( but to brand him a long ball mgr a la allardyce is incorrect) but he was undermined by both carr and ashley from early on. His work so far at palace has been excellent. Im glad we have a new coaching ticket though and am glad he is gone and hope he does crap even though he wont.

Austin is a difficult one now. SMc tends to play one striker, and Mitrovic will bot want to be a bench warmer. If we sign Austin, it’s going to cause a problem. Also, Cisse will be off. Cant imagine having 3 number 9’s on the books

Morphine is great, until the pain starts to recede. Once the body no longer needs it for pain relief, the freaky sh1t starts happening. And they can’t just take you off it. It takes 2 days to wean you off.

Correct, Serbia have a great under 20 and under 21 teams. We should be all over their players. If it is a work permit issue that is where we need a European feeder club who don’t have that issue.

Still want rudiger in rather than going after a striker like Austin. Austin would still rather live than South.

What we’ve spent so far would be an absolute minimum amount based on Prem survival which is all that really matters to Ashley. The team had become so full of dead wood there was real danger we would go down. Sparky is dead on. We still have a very poor squad and we supposedly continue to look at 20 year olds with no Prem experience. The club is short on mature, experienced Prem players and yet we need to get rid of some of those because they are well past it or weren’t good enough in the first place. No real plan to make us top 8 contenders that I can see. Just survival in the Prem and bringing in a few youngsters with the hope at least one will excel and then be sold on. Nothing has changed really.
