Newcastle’s Top Youngster Has Skills Galore

2:00 pm, Monday, August 3rd, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 25 Comments

Here is a video produced by FFDTV online and is doing the rounds showing what good control Rolando Aarons has – we just hope Newcastle can keep this lad fit this season – he can score goals for us, create chances and get some points for us.

My memory’s fading just a little bit these days, but I think that’s how I was playing when I was about 20.

Good young player, who, by all accounts has the potential to become better than Sterling who has yet to fore fill his own potential 😉

He needs to stay injury free and get a run of games under his belt to show just what he can do as its a very different game when you’re a started every week to playing the odd cameo role

skills galore and a year on his contract , more fool us for letting it get to this point , he’s off for a free next summer

more class management by the teaboy

we need to extend his contract asap. so that we can sell him for 25million to Barcelona in January.

If Saylor tried doing that he pull half a dozen muscles and be out for six months, Willo would trip himself up and face plant the ball while Colo would become distracted by a pretty lady on the side lines and simply walk out of shot 🙂

Veto, we have the option of another season in his contract, so it’s two seasons really. The lad wants to earn a contract with us – his own words – and we want him, so if his hamstring holds up, he’ll get a decent five year contract. You only need to look at Sturridge to know skill alone won’t cut it if you can’t stay fit. Right now he’s costing Liverpool a fortune in wages for no return. This lad is literally like a new signing, along with De Jong. (Cliche or not!) That’s half a first team better off than last season, if we can fit them all in at once. All quality players. This is the reason I feel a top half finish is well within our reach. I’d still like to see new signings, but when all these players were on the pitch on Saturday, we gave a CL side the runaround and on another day would have at least got a draw.

    That’s some good stuff

We also need to put a ridiculous buy out clause in his new contract. Going to U18’s the past couple of seasons I’ve watched this kid grow. Over two years ago I posted on Sky Sports that we had four gems coming through – Arma, Kemen, Aarons and Roberts – another winger. Four capable of making the jump to first eleven ain’t bad by anybody’s Academy – especially one like ours that has faced a lot of criticism.

    Totally 100% agree with you.

    De Jong

All 5 will improve our team. Key is keeping them fit, Aarons arguably being the toughest to keep fit. De Jong is not injury prone, he has simply had a season were a nasty injury, a collapsed lung has effected him.

With a full pre season, and hopefully the surgery being a success he could be a quality addition to our team.

    Janmaat – Mbemba – Coloccini – Haidara
    Wijnaldum – Tiote/Colback
Sissoko – De Jong – Aarons

    / = or

We have a strong team. It is literally keeping it fit which is the issue. We have a couple of half decent players like Cabella, Anita and Dummett waiting to pop into the above but really we need to keep the above team fit. We could give most PL teams a run with it.

AND for people saying its not possible remind me how many injuries Chelsea sustained to the ever present

    Ivanovic – Cahill – Terry – Azpilicueta
    Matic – Fabregas
    Willian – Oscar – Hazard

Last season, Costa was arguably the only one who had extended time away. They played in Europe and in later stages of cup competitions.

Why can we not do that with less games? Quality of player does not determine injuries.

Tim Krul wants more signings,I can only guess for which positions!

  • 12 sweendog // Aug 3, 2015 at 2:34 PM

good player and one of the standout performers in preseason. just hope he stays injury free and commits to the toon, we’re the best place for him with our coaching.

Our injuries nightmare has been going on for longer than I care to remember, there was a piece written when Sir Bobby was here that they were investigating the make up of the training ground pitches and SJP as the feeling was that the make up was wrong resulting in pitches either being to hard or to soft.

But seeing as the vast majority of our injuries are recurring muscle pulls or strains it would point to poor conditions, poor fitness levels or issues with the players diets or the elephant in the room – the medical staff at the club.

We need to get over this and find the root cause as its killed us for years

Collo & Mbemba have played 28 minutes between them in pre-season!! Is anyone expecting him to leap like a salmon to power headers away,to sprint like a Olympic athlete to cut out danger. He is still suffering with an Achilles heel! shakes head.

Good insight Bobbybee, those do seem to be our 4 stand out youngsters. Would be great if we could get Kemen and Roberts loaned out too, 6months offers minimal risk if they are not getting game time at their clubs. Aarons has to play first team this year. At the moment they are all still hype, but promising at least.

I remember when Vuckic was Europes next great CAM, wanted by Chelsea, Arsenal and United, all it takes is some bad coaching, bad luck or bad attitude for a youngster to fail. The margin is so fine at the top.

Campbell ‘the next rooney’ signed for Notts County, Streete ‘the next Ferdinand’ signed for Port Vale.

Some of the flick and trick passes he and perez have been doing in the warm ups before preseason games have been a treat to watch. They are both very good prospects and hope they both get minutes when the season kicks off.

Pawl, being so young, the hamstring injury might have been a one off that never returns. I think Pardew trying to rush him back is what caused the other niggles that kept him out. He’s certainly shown little sign of it restricting him so far. Some of Colback’s distribution on Saturday took my breath away, so I’d put him ahead of Cisse right now. De Jong just oozes class and must start, as must the other three new signings. Any side even slightly underestimating us this season will get a nasty surprise. Even if we make no more new signings – depending on how Collo looks – we’ll still shock many teams. Any shortcomings can be addressed in January. My ST is burning a hole in my wallet right now, I can’t wait to start using it! 😉

players own words mean nothing these days , he will have some of the biggest agents in his ear , especially since that ridiculous sterling fee and with him also having an english passport .
regardless of injury last year , aftersome of his performances its criminal to let a prospect like him run his contract down so low .
the injury worry is a gamble , but mike likes a flutter and even the tea lady could see the need to make it worth his while to sign a long term deal with us , sounds like we could do with being abit more realistic on his contract offer instead of playing a dangerous game of hardball .
id be more than happy with just another centre back brought in so we have plenty room to give some of our prospects a proper run at things , something i thought pardew never really did despite it being in his job description .
