Newcastle Fans Expect This Result At Swansea

9:07 am, Friday, August 14th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 16 Comments

Last week 44% of our readers though that we could beat Southampton in our opening game of the season, and we were ahead 2-1 with just 11 minutes to play, but couldn’t hold on to get a famous win.

The lads played well but tired towards the end of the game but we are hoping that doesn’t happen at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow when we take on a good Swansea team who probably should have beaten Chelsea last weekend but drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Swansea are a terrific club these days, with very good support, and they play some very good football under manager Garry Monk, who looks made for the part as a top class Premier League manager.

But 38% of our fans still think we can win the game at Swansea, which we last did back in April, 2012,  when Papiss Cisse scored two good goals and we played really well in finishing 5th top that season.

Most pundits are going for a Swansea win tomorrow, but what we want to see is more of the good stuff we saw against the Saints – and not tailing off towards the end of the game.

A draw would be a decent result for us – a win would be a surprise, but that’s what the majority of fans think will happen tomorrow.

Who are we to argue with that?

That result would be just great!

    shows how clueless fans are
You cant win with a leaky defence
We have ZERO chance of winning tomorrow if Colo starts

Damn, I can’t keep up with this many threads at a time. Famous win? Against Swansea? Yeah they’re good but they’re no world beater.

think most likely result is a defeat but we can easily get something from the game – think whoever comes out on top between Janmaat and Haidara vs Ayew and Montero will decide it.

When we beat Man U 5-0, that was a famous victory or Barcelona 3-2 was definitely up there. Beating a Southampton side not long ago in the third tier of English football could hardly be described as a famous victory.

with players like cabella riviere dummet all training now I think we will see them in the league cup
I also hope this is when we see laschelles and darlow make there debut

Swansea match I would take a score draw

In a way I feel sorry for toonbrother and jail. My ongoing suffering was greatly eased by the departure of AP, whereas their resepective bete noirs remain in situ.

Entirely different, I would be more than happy to have Mashers stay if we were doing well out of him.

Game at a time. I will judge wen we are playing defensively I dont think we are well equipped.
Colo, Mbemba, Anita, Colback, Tiote, Taylor, Dumett, Jannmmatt. Not convincing.

    Like in attack.
Gini, De Jong, Sissoko, Cabella, Perez, Aarons,Obertan, Mitrovic, Cisse. Even the back up is good and quality which we can depend on.

Defense is abt organization let me hope Mcca can organise them well. Read the game well and work for each other.

My prediction is a loss, and I don’t think that’s unreasonably pessimistic. If you look at last season they were clearly a superior team. I think it’s fair to say we will be better this season, but it’s not likely to be a quantum leap, and I don’t think at this point we’ve bridged the gap to the top third of the table. Good teams are going to continue to expose our all too obvious defensive shortcomings. If we can keep them honest and make a game of it I’ll settle for that.

The epl is the toughest league in the world without doubt but people are given the middle table teams to much of credit..theres a reason why newcastle is either right up there or the total opposite..its cause newcastle are the only massive club thats under performing with potential in the epl..yes the likes of swansea, westham, stoke etc will be pushing for top 10 but i see no reason why we will finish below them this season..finally we have a coach who plays a pass and move football..95% of our players are meant to play this brand of football..its just the pardew didnt know how to use them…i can dribble 2 or 3 players at ease but i too will not care if i was forced to play hoofball week after week and year after year…we have exciting players from our midfield to our fowards other mid table teams do not have that if you compare them man to man…our defense is weak but they not the worst plus if we play possession football then their is less pressure on our for people writing of siem de jong..its clear his not fit..once his fit he is without doubt our best dont need pace if your brain can function quickly and you can read a football game..
