Poll – Can Newcastle Get Anything At Old Trafford?

In our polls on the result of our first two games,  the majority of fans thought we would win both games – at home to Southampton and away at Swansea.

We didn’t win either, and maybe little bit of reality has set in, and our next couple of games are certainly very tough.

They are against two of the top four teams in the Premier League last season – at Manchester United on Saturday and then at home to Arsenal the following Saturday.

Then we have the two week International break – so we hope we will have more than just the one point by then.

Let us know how you think we will do in that game.

With no right back and Colo at centre back we just need to see the lads pit in a good performance and keep our shape. Anything more is a bonus.

If Thauvin is really the last signing then we are going to be throwing so many games away.

A video showing McClaren attempting to undo Pardew’s long ball tactics.. you might need facebook to see it though.

    From prev..

No wonder Chris Waddle is well known in france, if he played for Marsielle for OVER 100 YEARS!! (1889-1992). Epic typo, Ed ?

Whether we can get something out of the game depends on who mcclaren starts. If we start with the same team against Swansea (barring janmaat obviously) then I fear we will be embarrassed.
For me this is the game to start mitrovic, Aarons and thauvin. Attack them high up the pitch from the off.

An example of kemens poor 1st touch.

He admitted afterwards that he was trying to take a touch to control before shooting.

No thank you. We have enough liabilities in defence as it is.

I have to say I thought we had a chance until Tuesday night when Man U seemed to ‘click’. Hopefully they might be still be tired on Saturday 🙂

    Ron,

    I voted for a win.
We have been a team that can get a shock result against top four teams that don’t turn up because they expect to roll us over.
And because I am quite a selective negger 🙂

If we have top ten pretensions for this season, as many on here claim to believe, we have to believe we are in the running to get something at Old Trafford, rather than writing it off as a thumping.
Swansea are a top eight team. That is the gap. That’s why we need more signings.

we will be very very lucky
our defence is not to good
and we may have brought a few players but are any of them as good as the kiddie they signed from holland this summer we are a bottom of the mid table team with a miss match off players,
the striker we brought in……… austin could have played straight away
i dont get wanting to sale cisse hes the only proven prem scorer we have and will stay fit

we are a couple of years away from a decent team to challenge for top 8 not a couple of signings
