Florian Thauvin took to his Twitter account yesterday to send a couple of messages to newcastle fans after signing on at Newcastle after successfully completing a medical.
His girlfriend Charlotte Pirroni was also with him yesterday.

It may take Florian some time to settle in at Newcastle, but we could see him in the second half on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Thanks.
Thauvin shouldn’t have any issues coming in. The season is underway in France and he should be match fit. Hopefully he replaces Obertan, rather than Obertan switching to the right.

Have to respond before I go, Janmaat got a roasting we all know that but he’s had previous with a cheap sending off hasn’t he. Leicester last season which was well masked by the claim of willo deliberately getting himself sent off by Carver.
As for the sending off last week, Janmaat knows fine well as does every other footballer that pulling someone back deliberately is an automatic yellow, did Janmaat complain about his 2nd yellow? Did any nufc player complain about it? Did Janmaat even wait for the ref to brandish the cards? No he didn’t. Heat of the moment anything can happen but Janmaat knew that he’d automatically get a sent off for what he did. He was broke down mentally in 40 mins of football.
I don’t know what went on in his head or what he was thinking, I do know all the refs go to every team and sit them down before the season starts and tells them what am automatic booking is for and automatic reds are for. He didn’t just lash out by losing his temper he was dispossessed by the very winger who’d gone past him time and time again. Cowards option is what he took just like he did at Leicester, you beg to differ good for you….its we all had the same opinions it would be a boring place

Don’t take this the wrong way but I’ve watched about 5 complete replays of the game against Swansea and you are talking complete guff.
You really need to take a step back before calling a Toon player (and Dutch international) a coward.
I know the internet over the last decades has spawned a lot of comment on public figures that overstep the mark but please give your head a shake.

Gruff? Did your alter ego Jeff find that world famous club team named Brazil?
I’m sorry he didn’t get deliberately sent off, he didn’t know pulling him back would result in a 2nd yellow. He also didn’t mean to get sent off against Leicester either. Apologies to all I offended, I’ll refrain from typing gruff. How could he know that pulling him back would result in a 2nd yellow. He also didn’t try to slide in on Montero 2 mins earlier but the little man stayed on his feet.

Comment #15I want us to sign a Striker coz am not sure if Cisse wld b around next season. he is old and 2 yrs remaining on his
contract. Wld bring one now in and first .

I dont think Mcca seez Perez the way we see him . Perez is better than Aarons & Obertan if deployed as a winger . Perez is
either a WF or No . 10 . Not a No . 9 .

Comment #16Ridiculous how easy fans will turn on a player.
Janmaat was our best player last season. Everyone wanted him to be captain. Debuchy who?
Now he gets a red after being completely destroyed by a winger that has destroyed other full backs previously and he’s overtaken colo and tiote as public enemy no 1.
He didn’t take the easy way out. You see some players get away with that if they’re subtle. Janmaat was probably seeing red after loosing the ball himself. Sometimes you get caught in the moment.
He’s snarky, he’ll learn and he’ll come back.
Keep this up and no one will want to come play for us once the fans have built a reputation for being so flippant.

Comment #17Didn’t janmaat immediately come out and apologies for the red card? All players lose their heads now and again and he has been pretty dependable since arriving.

He’s got previous on this, as for being captain, I’ve been consistent with saying no because he’s not a leader. If anything the Swansea game proved that, when he plays well he gets lauded and rightly so, do I think he’s a good player…..yes. I’ve also said consistently that he’s not a good defender but not many modern day full backs are.
His decision not only cost his team mates and fans but ensured we played for 50 mins with 10 men. 2 mins prior to seeing the red mist can you explain why he tried to foul Montero who ghosted past him on the wing? Why would a player that’s already been booked make a challanges like that knowing fine well he’ll be sent off? Montero stayed on his feet and I think Colback cleared the cross. Then up at the other end he pulls him back, both yellows picked up in there half.
If you have a yellow you are more cautious not more eager to continue to make daft challanges knowing what the consequences are!! Good player but if I went to war I’d hate to have him in the trenches with me!!

Comment #22It is now obvious with the speed of the deal after the resignation of Marcelo Bielsa , that , he was the main stumbling block to NUFC obtaining the services of Florian Thauvin.
If you think about it , that is a hell of a recommendation.

Comment #23Got to agree with “Our Toon” on Janmaat.. I think he should be investigated for taking a bribe for that sending off. He was determined to see red and it was obvious to everyone… Would love to know how much those chinese gangs paid him…
