It was another disappointing result for Newcastle today and for the second time in four games we had a man sent off in the first half of a Premier League game.
This time it was Mitrovic who was shown a straight red card after just 16 minutes, and will now miss the next three games.
Chamberlain after his shot was deflected in by Coloccini for an own goal
Apart from that Newcastle played extremely well but we cannot win games if get players sent off – especially in the first half.

Comment #41Spot on Macas and Nufc 83. I watched it with a few neutrals who had the same opinion.
I do always enjoy Manxpies post match unbiased comments though.

Comment #42I really can’t understand why anyone is having a go at the ref if it was on the other foot everyone would be praising him or slagging him for not giving us a pen. Get your black and white glasses off

The only explanation is that the girl Colo had an affair with, which was why his missus left for Argentina, was your wife. How accurate is this??

I think the ref was ok today in all honesty but he was too quick to the cards early doors and tried to stay consistent with that. I dont have a huge issue with the red but the number of yellows after it he could of controlled better, it only stopped when he called Colo over and told him to get his team under control…had he done that straight after the red then NUFC wouldnt be paying a fine tomorrow

Why would you not have a go at the ref, he had an absolute nightmare. Booked our players and then didnt book Arse players for the same fouls on numerous occasions .

Comment #51Nice to see you back off hols belfast. Yes I agree lot of upturned handbags on here, SM hasn’t got the discipline right, and the tactic of soaking up pressure was there before the sending off. Our ‘ gutsy performance’ disguises another poor approach against teams riding in reputation to some extent. I hope this is just ironing out the wrinkles but I don’t see anything promising in no wins.

‘Think the trying is getting in the way of the football a bit, currently.’
At times it certainly looks and feels like that. I’m sure McClaren will get the balance right.

Comment #54Overall we fought well, seems to be a better atmosphere around than last season. But if you cant trust people to stay on the pitch then you lose.
Mitro should be dropped when his ban is over until he wakes up, no point having talent if you leave your team in the shit every match. 3 games out of 4 he could have been sent off, its pointless.

If Mitrovic card was red, there is a whole host of dirty players through the years that should be in jail for taking out peoples careers.
A Keane comes to mind. So please. Keane would end people’s careers for tackles that were not given a yellow. The ref got on the bandwagon without thinking a single thing. What a twat.
People need to use their brain, and watch the replay the player that was on the ground in absolute agony stood up within 2 seconds.
I am sickened by the state of football. A meme puts it right 90 minutes of pretending to be injured vs Rugby 80 minutes of pretending you are NOT injured.
Carry on the way you did Sir Mitro.
The game was taken away from us before it really started. We do however need to learn to take possession as we don’t have any and I have no idea where that has come from. I think we had a better performance with Pardew.
We are very frustrated and it shows. The PM league is ripe with corrupt referees just like in the old manure 10 minutes extra time days and its vile.

Comment #63The FA clearly are incompetent and have already decided with the refs which clubs will be allowed to secure the top four to protect their relationship with UEFA and prote and the Super League which is the Champions League. Imagine if Stoke, Villa, West Brron And the Mackems were the top four. Would be a lot of broken knee capss in the FA but no yellow cards so that’s alright then. Stoke have two sent off already. Last week Wenger wanted TV refs and TMO decisions has he asked for them again this week ? Only when that happens will we get some sense of a fair sport.
