Is This Newcastle’s Best Team Against West Ham?

Newcastle don’t have any new injuries before the game tomorrow night at West Ham, but we do have Aleksandar Mitrovic missing for the next three games because of his red card against Arsenal, when we lost by the only goal – an unlucky own goal from captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Papiss Cisse – should start tomorrow

So at least the injury situation seems fairly well contained and we have to remember how our 10 men played so well for and with resilience for 74 minutes of the game, and in the end we were unlucky not to get a point.

It’s not often that our players are applauded off the field after a defeat at home, but that’s what happened a couple of weeks ago against Arsenal.

So we don’t see Steve McClaren making many changes to the side, although he needs to decide who to bring in for Mitrovic.

We’ll go for Papiss Cisse, because of his experience in the Premier League, although apparently Ayoze Perez has looked sharp in training – and we expect Perez to see some action in the second half.

Here’s the team we think Steve McClaren will pick for tomorrow’s game:

Krul
Janmaat Mbemba Coloccini (c) Haidara
Colback Anita
Sissoko Wijnaldum Thauvin
Cisse
Subs: Darlow Taylor Tiote Obertan de Jong Aarons Perez

What would your team be for tomorrow?

We could see Mike Williamson on the bench, and that would be in case they bring Andy Carroll on n the second half, who we know is excellent in the air.

We are not too good at defending high balls into the box, as we showed in out first two league games, and maybe Mike could do a job if Carroll is introduced with sufficient time left to cause us some problems.
