This Is Newcastle´s Best Player This Season

Of Newcastle´s four players brought in for the first team this summer the best performing and most consistent player has been Chancel Mbemba and he has another solid game for us against Chelsea on Saturday.

The 21 year-old has immediately contributed to the Newcastle side, and he has started in every single Premier League game and he currently has 8 appearances for the club.

Chancel Mbemba – 11th best center back in Premier League

Consistent and good and he seems a great guy – what else could you ask for?

At around £8M he´s looking to be a fantastic acquisition for Newcastle and once we see more of his former team-mate at Anderlecht – Aleksandar Mitrovic – the Serbian could also start contributing big time to the team.

That’s as long as he can curb his tendency to pick up cards of different colors.

Aleksandar was terrific for us on Saturday against Chelsea and he has an extroverted and infectious personality.

The Chronicle has pointed out today that Swiss-based football statistics organization CIES Football Observatory,  have ranked various players at each outfield position in the Premier League.

They rank players for each of the top leagues in Europe.

Chancel comes in at 11th in the center-back position with Arsenal´s Koscielny in first place but Chancel is top for players under 21 years of age.

CIES Football Observatory has ranked the top 15 players in each position, based on their exclusive approach to the technical analysis of performance, based initially off the Opta stats.

Each player in first place gets 100 and the other players are ranked at something less than that – Chancel comes in with 48.7.

Chris Smalling is 5th with 69.2 and and Vincent Kompany is 8th at 52.7.

Of the 15 players chosen for center-back, full-back, defensive midfield, attacking midfield and forward, he is the only Newcastle United player listed.

That says something.

    Lies damned lies and statistics
    Smalling 5th Kompany 8th
There is not a manager breathing who would take Smalling over Kompany.

Could MBabu and Mbemba not be a long term CB pairing?

NIle Ranger likely available from Blackpool. Sign him with the terms that he live in a monastery when not in training or during games. Look at his NUFC work on Youtube in the 4-4 with Arsenal and ask yourself if he is not better than Riverie.
