Newcastle put in one of their best performances of the season last Saturday when it was really needed with Newcastle fans not happy with losing the previous four games in a row.
Newcastle’s performances at West Ham and at home to Watford and Sheffield Wednesday were simply not good enough.
Jack Colback – a doubt for Saturday
So it was refreshing and even surprising that Newcastle put such a good performance in against Chelsea.
Of course, Aleksandar Mitrovic made all the difference and Newcastle were for once threatening in the final third of the field and scored a couple of good goals.
We cannot see Steve McClaren make many changes from the side that did so well in that game – although we should have captured all 3 points to get out first win of the season.
It looks like Papiss Cisse could be back and Jack Colback is a doubt for the game – but Newcastle are doing all they can to have the local lad fit for the game at the Etihad.
We assume Dummett, Aarons, Haidara, Riviere, Darlow and Tiote are still not ready to be part of the squad, but we will know more about that when Steve McClaren has his press conference for the game.
So this will likely be the side that lines up against Manchester City – who have lost their last two league games after winning the first five.

Sissoko Colback Anita Wijnaldum
Subs: Elliot Lascelles Williamson Obertan de Jong Thauvin Cisse
What would your team be for Saturday´s game?
If Jack Colback cannot make it we may see Wijnaldum put in a defensive midfield position with Siem de Jong coming in on the left wing.
