Newcastle Could Get Shock Result At Manchester City

It may be a good time for Newcastle to play Manchester City on Saturday coming after the excellent Newcastle display against Chelsea to get the 2-2 draw last Saturday.

City will be without a number of their top players ion Saturday like captain Vincent Kompany and they have also lost their last two league games.

Newcastle have never won a league game at Manchester City for 11 years, so Saturday may be a very good opportunity to even get our first win of the season, as unlikely as that may seem.

City did have a good result in midweek in the Champions League when they beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 in Germany.

But that’s also a game just three days before meeting Newcastle so we have some advantages going into this game.

Pellegrini has stressed the importance of getting a win on Saturday before the two week International break:

“Now we need the international break, because we have eight injured players and we don’t have many options,”

“It is important for the players to beat Newcastle on Saturday, and then after that we have 15 days.”

England goalkeeper Joe Hart is fit again and feels they can get back ion track against the Magpies:

“The win is important and we really need to improve, but as badly as we played I think we still deserved to win,” said Hart.

“We need to get back to the first five games of the Premier League, where we were more of a balanced team. We were a bit imbalanced.

“But the season is a long season, so you have got different stages. Hopefully, that will put us in a good place for the Newcastle game.”

Newcastle do have a chance at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, but only if we can play as well as we did against Chelsea last Saturday.

If we can do that then anything is possible – including our first win of the season.

Not many fans think that will happen.
