Newcastle Scouting Winger For January Move

There´s no doubt that Newcastle will need to spend some big money in the January transfer market after getting only 3 points from the first 24 points played for so far this season and Newcastle are now rock bottom of the Premier League – it´s our worst start ever in the Premier League after eight games played.

While we didn´t expect to be in the top six by now we thought we would have maybe at least a point a game after the club spent £52M in the summer on what looked some good players brought in.

Gokhan Tore -Turkish-National-Team

Gokhan Tore – Newcastle January target?

It´s now clear that whatever the status of Newcastle in January some big players will be lined up and if we are in danger of relegation we will even pay over the odds to get the players in. much like we did in January 2013.

23 year-old Gokhan Tore of Besiktas is one of those players being scouted – but our main priority has to be in defense which is a huge weakness for Newcastle.

The former Chelsea Youth player would be a decent buy for Newcastle and he´s also played at Hamburg and Rubin Kazan in Russia before joining Besiktas in 2013 – initially on loan – before making the deal a permanent one in the summer of last year.

He would be about £14M if Newcastle decide they want to go after the 22 times capped Turkish International in January, but any players the club brings in at that time have to be able to produce the goods.

In the past we have brought players in from the continent – for the future – and they have struggled initially at Newcastle and some – like Remy Cabella and Manu Riviere – have not made the grade in England and been flops.

Arsenal are supposed to also be after the German-born player and could compete with Newcastle, but maybe not for the upcoming January window.

What do you think?

We don’t need him, already have £13M Thauvin
who made the worst France X1 last season.
    What a mess.

Another double digit costing winger who will probably add little to no value!

I can see us catapulting up the table in no time.

Give me Redmond over this guy anyday – similar price tag & he’s the next Kieron Dyer without the injuries.

We are a shambles. I hate our team right now. Mitro and perez are our only hope.

Why are we so poorly run that we have to always panic buy in January, why can’t we get things right in the summer? But when things have obviously been done wrong why is there no recourse to those responsible?

We are now going to try to fix the things we should have done long ago at the worst time to try and sign quality players!

I agree with the Redmond comment – why take any more risks with flair players who are an unknown quantity in terms of the Premier League?

It baffles me why we’d spend £14 million on Thauvin who is the latest in a long line of French wingers who’d be blown over by a strong breeze.

Ok, there are some of cheap foreign success stories across the league, but frankly Carr’s only big success so far has been Cabaye for £4.5 million. Everyone knew about Wijnaldum and Mitrovic, Mbemba wasn’t exactly a snip and Thauvin is as overpriced as anything from Waitrose.

We need players who have some fight about them. For his size, I think Sissoko has the fight of an 11-year-old. Pathetic.

Get the funds available for fighters in January, if there are any available. I’d love to see Kamil Glik in a Toon shirt. Strong, hard as nails and a proper leader. Spend good money on him, or throw money at Winston Reid. A big centre-forward and a big centre-half are almost as crucial as an experienced left back. We need older player who are leaders to stick a boot up the arses of the younger players and set an example.
