Newcastle Must Keep This Top Youngster At The Club

2:32 pm, Saturday, October 24th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 10 Comments

One of the successes at Newcastle last season was 22 year-old striker Ayoze Perez, and he’s already shaping up to be another big success this season and he has forced himself into being a starter for the club and looks to be forming an excellent partnership with 21 year-old Aleksandar Mitrovic.

It also helps that Ayoze and Aleksandar are good friends off the pitch and like each other.

Newcastle have lost the last five derby games so Ayoze has tasted defeat twice already in these games, but he looks determined to change that tomorrow.

This is what he has said in the Chronicle:

“The supporters are very passionate here. You can’t say anything about Sunderland, it’s a big rivalry! We have to take the three points there and everybody will be happy.”

“It’s a special one. We are trying to win there, and we want to do it as we did against Norwich, in a good way. It’s going to be difficult but if we have to do our jobs and if we do that we can win there.”

“We have our own derby in the Canary Isles. It’s really nice to play in these type of games.”

“You have to leave nothing on the pitch. I hope I can be on the field on Sunday and leave it as a victor with my team-mates.”

“We’re all going into it feeling really happy. We needed it. We deserved to get the win and to climb away from the bottom of the Premier League table.”

“That’s a real lift, we got three points, got our first victory and we scored a lot of goals. We feel we can breathe again. We are looking forward to the derby.”

Tottenham were supposed to bid £15M for Ayoze on the last day of the summer transfer window and Manchester United are also said to be interested.

Ayoze is a smashing lad and a good professional and if Newcastle are going to build up a good side that can win something in the future – make that the near future – we need to keep players like Perez at the club.

What Newcastle should be doing is sitting down with his agent and giving him a new improved long-term deal – he can help bring success to Newcastle.

And that Ayoze-Mitrovic partnership can be a devastating one in a year or so.

Comments welcome.

I have no idea what’s going on with Thauvin.

We got Cabella. People say he’s too weak, so he has a season getting used to the league.

We then go to buy Thauvin to get a better version of Cabella more suited to the PL.

So we use Cabella to get Thauvin.

Thauvin is then never played as he’s deemed too weak, so needs a season to get used to the league.

What the hell are they doing?!?

Ideally Thauvin would be brought on with 20 minutes or so to go and us two goals to the good to get the PL experience.
That could mean he won’t get too many outings this season.

Just been to see the U18s at Little Benton. Topsy turvy game. Derby played the better football, yet Newcastle managed to sneak it 5-4. Strange old game. Good to see sub Owen Gallagher score with a header. Winger Callum Smith made a couple and scored one.

Blackley, is that the U18’s first win? Seem to be following the first team stride fir stride!

Young Gallacher’s dad’s uncle is Sir Alex Ferguson, don’t you know.

    Sutty
Could well be. This is the first chance I’ve had to go since one at the start of the season and I heard they’re second bottom. Young Heaney was playing as a central defensive midfielder. I don’t know what that’s about.

Steve Harper was watching. I asked him if he’s still playing. He said, “No. I’m too old. I’m 40.”

    Just watched the Blackburn/Burnley game.

I liked the look of Marshall seems to be the type of player that would be ideal for us. solid defensively, good going forward and English, what more could you ask for?

Doesn’t seem to be too much talent knocking around in our youth teams this season, suppose we have a couple out on loan and a couple fast tracked to the seniors but out of the ones playing in U21’s and U18’s regularly theres doesn’t look to be many future stars unfortunately.

Ed, as far as I can see you are the only one banging on about Ayoze leaving. I don’t think the owner wants to sell players unless they want to leave and we get a huge offer.there is so much money in the epl now they have to build a strong team to survive. Wijnaldum and Mitro will be here for a good while if they see some ambition, and that is improving.
