Some surprising news today that Gabby Obertan, who has been out injured with a hamstring problem he picked up in training in late September – will be out of action for at least another four months.
The Frenchman has had a number of injuries he’s picked up on Tyneside since he joined us from Manchester United in the summer of 2011 when we signed him for about £3M from the Red Devils.
Gabby Obertan – injured his hamstring again
Gabby picked up a hamstring injury and it’s the same one he injured in late September – and he has undergone surgery in France earlier this week and will be out about four months.
Here’s another case of a Newcastle player picking up an injury in training and a hamstring injury too – which seems to happen far too often to our players.
It’s looking like we will again be top of the Injury League again this season in the Premier League.
Gabby’s season has mirrored last season when he played well at the beginning of the season but then picked up an injury which will kept him out on the sidelines for months.
It looks like Gabby will out until maybe early April and he may not play again for Newcastle with his five-year contract running out in the summer – and it will not be renewed.
