Management Candidate Backs Steve McClaren

4:23 pm, Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 8 Comments

Harry Redknapp on his Twitter account today says he’s heard nothing about the Newcastle management job but backs the man in the job right now – Steve McClaren.

Everybody talks so highly of Steve being a good coach, but we have yet to see it at Newcastle, and he has hardly been successful at some of the other clubs he’s been at apart from one season at FC Twente.

In July two years ago Steve McCalren worked at QPR as a coach with Harry for three months.

Comments welcome.

Maybe Steve is good at training exercises?

…maybe he tells dry British jokes?

Maybe he’s just a nice guy?

Some people are just very likable…you can’t help but talk highly about ’em 🙂

Jesper, from previous – I’m not saying Ashley dreamed this up by himself, he probably isnt capable. He has been shown a “Vision” maybe even part of the reason he bought the club, I don’t know, possibly by those he was involved with in the very early days.

The problem is that the “Vision” simply doesn’t work but he isn’t changing how the club is being operated. That we are running in accordance with his wishes, is simply not in doubt.

The question has to be – Why? Where does he think it’s taking us? It certainly isn’t in line with his statements pre WHU and the bullshit about his Horse & Cart.

We are not creating our own luck, we are not developing into “Cup Winners” or even remotely looking like qualifying for Europe, so what does he want?

That Charnley and Carr are there by his hand is undeniable – Why, what do they bring to the objective??

We are, as a Football Club, completely out of touch with reality. Drifting aimlessly in a sea of dispare – what is it bringing him?? What does it achieve? I simply dont see it. There has to be something more than the advertising as he could get that without NUFC, but probably at a much higher cost.

Graeme…I will assume every single one on the board are telling Ashley they can make ‘his vision’ work 😉

…which is one our main struggles!

I don’t need people on that board making our trouble worse just because they have their own agenda! A bunch of opportunists that’s what they are!

    We need visionaries!
