Gini Wijnaldum Thanks Newcastle Fans On Twitter

6:47 pm, Sunday, December 6th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 18 Comments

Here’s the hero of the day – Gini Wijnaldum who was involved in both goals and put a shot in that was deflected for Newcastle’s first goal – so he didn’t credit for that one – but then in added time he was set up beautifully by Moussa Sissoko to seal the win with a nice chip over the goalkeeper.

If ever there was a shock win this was it – but all credit had to go to the players who put in enormous effort – and it’s a win for Steve McClaren too – maybe one of his best wins in club football even?

But here is a delighted Wijnaldum thanking Newcastle fans after the game.

We think Gini looks pleased!!

amazing throw outs from elliot going over half way, almost better and more accurate than kicking it. Schmeichel like.

Hopefully de Jong can become a main stay on the team

    I’m still shocked lol

But I did say earlier on that if Newcastle play attacking against a pressure style we could come out with something.

    And it did

I’m so pleased to have been proven wrong. I expected a real mauling yet the team produced this. Fantastic and it reminds me why I love this roller coaster team of ours.

This win relieved me. Being a Newcastle fan can be depressing particularly after the last two games. The talent is there as we saw today, it is the confidence that is lacking. A winning team breeds wins, it is as simple as that.
The disallowed Liverpool goal was in fact offside. The scorer was not offside but another player was. The rules on this are very woolly these days , but as I read the rules the linesman was right.

Very impressive throw outs. Never seen him do that before, a hidden talent ? Given the accuracy we should be seeing more of it, hopefully.

Wish they’d put a shift in like that every week, that’s all we ask for, today I think the win was vital but if they played like that and lost under normal vircumstabces nobody would complain. Lets just hope it wasn’t because Klopp was watching.

    moon rake

JFA might sound as though he’s being too negative about poor possession despite the win but I think he only really means it to a guy who for some reason can give this manager credit of a victory played in a defensive manner and poor defence yet critises a preious manager for any victory he achieved like this

Imagine not having watched the match after such a memorable performance.

Still , you know best Jesper.

Or has sense prevailed and the tenth place bonus been scrapped and promised already???

i have never ever slated P45 for possession, crazy man, 😉

the only 2 things i have ever had a go at him about are his style off football, and what he says.

the football was garbage and everything he said about the game was a total different way to the way i seen it.

he seemed to get weak minded people to believe he played on the front foot football, no long balls, and we were exciting..

the only time i have ever mentioned possession in one of his games was when he played Man c with palace, palace where murdered, only 25% possession and 2 shot on target and won,, pure luck

Have to agree with jfa. Effort, pride, hard work and giving it your all every week and I’ll be happy win lose or draw(winning is my preference though)

    evening all
erm………stumped!…where the hell did that come from??
not goin to go over the top coz i thought liverpool were poor but….that was so much better in every aspect…..stronger,smarter,quicker,energy,work rate and passing…my view

steady away…his kickin in second half went a bit pear shaped but other then that did what was asked of him.
much better defensively then he has been of late, seemed more focused and quicker to close down and tackle…alot better from him.
looked back to his best after a lull in his performances, timing, speed and strength looked better.
credit where its due he’s been shite most of the season if not all,but today played well, just needs to apply the same effort every week.
grafted well and i thought he did really well against a tricky quick winger in ibe and made alot of good clearances and tackles,he had a few stray passes goin forward but wont scald the lad as he didnt really have an out and out winger infront of him to give him an option…much better from him.
work rate was alot better forward and back, looked more focused and stronger, had a hand in both goals so good all round performance.
he was a pain in the arse to liverpool today, chased, harried and looked sharper, put his foot in all day and always made himself available for the ball….great performance as part of a battling centre midfield pairing.
did the simples things good, graft, strength, positioning, tackles didnt get involved goin forward to much but was solid, this is the way he should play every week…be the graft..not the craft.
captains performance..(dare i say) power, passion strength, touches of class along with the running power…was shattered at the end…..good,intelligent performance today.
    de jong
glad to see him play and showed a willingness to work and link the midfield to attack quite well i thought, showed some stylish simple intelligent passing we’ve missed and although he wasnt fantastic did good and seemed to bring the best out of cisse, deserves more games.
normally cant control the ball, hold up the ball, keep the ball and easy to knock off the ball… but not today thought this was his best game for a long time, passing, control, strength all so much better…maybe playing with de jong is good for him.
    perez,goofy and thauvin
to be honest the grafted when they came on and looked fairly sharp but didnt have alot of time in the game.
good performance by all today, looked like a team but we’ve thought this before since the start of the season so well done for today same again for the rest of the season…well most of the season then.

Gini’s talked more to the fans in 4 months than Colo has in 5 years. Gini has to be captain from now on
