Two substitutions late in the game today turned the game on its head and Mitrovic scored after being on the field a couple of minutes to level the scores and than Ayoze Perez scored a fantastic winner in stoppage time to inflict the first defeat on Tottenham since the opening day of the season.
Steve McClaren looked like a magician today.
Steve McCLaren is a genius!

Comment #1I wouldn’t go as far as genius, but he definitely pulled off a masterstroke by pitting Mitro and Perez against a tiring Spurs team at the perfect time. They twisted and bullied them for the last 20 minutes and it got us the win.
Nice job Macca.

Comment #2The biggest credit should probably go to colo because it was his header back towards mbemba that got us that first goal.

I thought the Villa match was our only realistic win. It’s impossible to predict whether they’ll bother to play or not.

Comment #5Excellent 3 points, thoroughly deserved for that second half performance .. Would have give ayoze m.o.m rather than Elliot personally..
So happy tonight but to be honest the last two games mean nothing if we don’t pick up 3 points against the villa. Mourinho said it we play well against the big teams poor against our level

Comment #8Manager of the Month looks possible for SuperMc?
All the plaudits too and Shearer’s praise’ll be music to Charney’s ears – and not forgetting Ashley especially if there’s no need to let McClaren go!
Great result, great second-half, great day.

Comment #10There is no reason why we can’t win the next two or three in a row, if we do I hope the purse strings don’t get cut.

Comment #14Great performance today, and an even better result. Missed the last 10 minutes or so, as my battery died. Went to walk the dog and got a nice surprise when the radio told of the final result.
Thought we played well even at 1-0 down, worked well as a team keeping a good Spurs side contained. Second half was a step up, and a welcom surprise.
MOM for me was Elliot, but I was a little concerned with Janmaats body language today. From the moment Sisoko delayed a pass to him, he seemed to be at odds with the game, like he didn’t want to be there, and everything was p!ssing him off…?
Substitutions were obviously the changing point of the game, though to conclude that this should be the starting lineup is a bit hard on those players who’d worked hard for the previous hour or so….
I liked what some coach said during the rugby World Cup when asked about substitutes, he replied he saw it more as a starting 15 and a finishing 15…..

Comment #22Brilliant result yesterday. Great positve subs from McClaren and what a fabulous goal by Ayoze (my fav player). Good to see Mitro and Ayoze linking up for the final goal.
All is not well still we need consistency and that means beating Villa. We can’t let our guard down and we still need reinforcements in January.
