Newcastle had their best win of the seasons last time out against a strong Liverpool side and the game today will be just as tough at White Hart Lane.
Against the Reds we kind of hing on in that first half and then as the second half progressed you could see out lads grew in confidence and also grew into the game and we managed a famous win with two goals from Gini Wijnaldum – although he was credited with only the second goal.
Mauricio Pochettino – excellent Tottenham manager
Now the big question is which team will turn up in north London today and we hopes it isn’t the frail team that played at Crystal Palace two weeks ago.
Even when we went ahead in the game our defense was hopeless and we ned up losing the game by an embossing 5-1 against a manager who was forced out of Newcastle by the Sack Pardew crew.
Pardew’s team is now 6th top and Newcastle are 3rd bottom – 13 points behind Palace and one place behind Spurs.
This is what Tottenham Mauricio Pochettino has said about Newcastle before the game:
“We have a tough game, Newcastle are coming from a big victory against Liverpool last week and I think they believe more than before.”
“That victory gave them more confidence and it’s because of that we expect a tough game against a very good side like Newcastle.”
“Newcastle will come here very aggressive and try to win.”
“We need to work hard, to have the same motivation and mentality, play to our philosophy and make sure we’re ready to compete.
“I always try to focus on our team and how we can improve and we have a very tough game ahead.”
If Newcastle play as the Tottenham manager expects – then we will have a chance of getting something out of the game – otherwise we will lose.
And then more doubts will arise about whether Newcastle can survive in the Premier league this season.
Comments welcome.
Can you help 3 year-old Kian?
On 31st October 2013 then 18 month old Kian from Prudhoe was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer – and it was high risk stage 4 plus MYCN – which is the most aggressive form of this rare cancer.
The parents were told he had a 50/50 chance of survival during treatment and if successful an 80% chance of a relapse, and while the initial treatment seemed to be successful a relapse has taken place.
Advanced treatment for Kian is only available in Germany or the USA and the cost of treatment is £550K.
His parents are trying desperately to raise the money after an agonizing last couple of years – please take a look on this web-site where there is a lot more information – and see if you can help out.
Many thanks.

I think Sammy has been in and out of the team there have been complaints about his fitness !! Apparently we never sent him to Cardiff in the best of condition which is not surprising really !!
This result is good for us so far because if we can beat Villa next week then they are down there will be no way back for them !

I think it will be the same team too mate. I can accept a loss if we play well and don’t get a mauling, but I am hoping for a win, realistically, and not listening to my heart I think this will be a draw if we play well.

Comment #46Well sorry don’t want to turn the sprinkler on the new dawn etc but I don’t think we will get a result today. Liverpool weren’t at their best last match, I think Spuds will be a different proposition. Quite happy to be wrong though. 2 or 3-0 to the potaaaaaatoes…

Yes, I’ll be following it.
This Villa team isn’t too bad, unfortunately.
