Who Was Our Man Of The Match In Amazing 2-1 Win?

In what was a second successive league win for the very first time this year – Newcastle came from behind today at White Hart Lane to win the game 2-1 – the third time we have won this fixture in the least three seasons – and we move up to 15th place in the league table.

And it was our two young guns -0 Mitrovic and Perez who were two of the heroes with two goals in the last 16 minutes with Perez’ winner coming in stoppage time as our lads never gave up.

Newcastle also have Rob Elliot to thank for some great saves during the game – another outstanding performance from the stand-in goalkeeper.

    cheers Ed, repost..

Great performance today, and an even better result. Missed the last 10 minutes or so, as my battery died. Went to walk the dog and got a nice surprise when the radio told of the final result.
Thought we played well even at 1-0 down, worked well as a team keeping a good Spurs side contained. Second half was a step up, and a welcom surprise.
MOM for me was Elliot, but I was a little concerned with Janmaats body language today. From the moment Sisoko delayed a pass to him, he seemed to be at odds with the game, like he didn’t want to be there, and everything was p!ssing him off…?
Substitutions were obviously the changing point of the game, though to conclude that this should be the starting lineup is a bit hard on those players who’d worked hard for the previous hour or so….
I liked what some coach said during the rugby World Cup when asked about substitutes, he replied he saw it more as a starting 15 and a finishing 15…..

elliot or perez, voted for perez but they were both excellent.

elliot- managed to make some great saves allowing allowing us the chance to get back in the second half.

perez- We still had the chance of recovering in the second hlf and he certainly done it.

I’d still start with Cisse and SDJ against Villa. Yes, Perez has been great all season and unlucky to be dropped but SDJ offers experience and leadership that we have been desperately short of. We’ve caved too many times.
All I can say about CIsse is that competition has improved him. He has pace that Mitro doesn’t and has looked much better in the last 2 games than last season. But having fresh, competent legs to bring to the forward line after 60+ mins is something we have not seen for 5+ years…and what a difference

I noticed Daryl’s attitude towards Sissoko
Sissoko’sattitude toward Cissé was strange also Sissoko’s background is Malian
Do folk from Mali have a problem with Senegalese ?

Fantastic result today, proves yet again these players can do it when they put their minds to it, just hope we can continue with this run.

As far as I’m concerned the only player that needs a firework up is arse is cisse, so frustrating that player.
