The Sun is reporting that Newcastle are keen on signing 21 year-old Spanish U21 International midfielder Victor Camarasa from Levante in the January transfer window.
While we expect Newcastle to sign players ready for the first team next month, there’s nothing wrong with signing younger players who are for the future and this would be one of those signings.
The signing of Ayoze Perez 18 months ago was also one of those signings that has paid off handsomely for Newcastle and Perez continues to improve as a potent striker in the Newcastle side.
Victor Camarasa – Levante midfielder
With the success of Perez it’s not too surprising that Newcastle are returning to Spain to sign some promising younger players.
Camarasa has played 52 times for Levante with 5 goals and two assists since joining them three years ago after coming through the Valencia Youth Academy – with Valencia being his home town club.
This season the youngster has played 15 games with two goals for his club who are right at the bottom the Spanish league with just 11 points from 15 games and 3 points from safety.
The 6 foot tall player plays in defensive midfield and has a contract at Levante that lasts through June of 2019.
We were first reported interested in this player back in March this year.
