Demba Ba – Sky Comes Crashing Down When Mourinho Loses

Demba Ba is one of two recent former Newcastle strikers who have left Newcastle and ended up playing for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea – and both didn’t see much playing time and were regularly on the bench in London.

The other one is Loic Remy.

With Jose Mourinho being sacked by Chelsea yesterday afternoon, after they were left one point behind Newcastle in the league table after their 2-1 defeat at Leicester on Monday night, we suppose it’s not too surprising that some former players have voiced their opinion on the Portuguese manager – who has seen enormous success as a manager.

Ba is now at Shanghai Shenhua who he signed for on a three year deal in the summer and the 30 year-old has said this about Mourinho to French station RMC today:

“I thought Chelsea would continue with Mourinho,” “It’s rare to see Mourinho manage three years at the same team. And this has confirmed that. “

“His methods are exhausting, very tiring. He’s someone who likes to win and when he loses, you could say that the sky comes crashing down on his head.”

“Things get complicated when he loses because he gets annoyed. It looks like his face is overcome with anger, although this is probably not the case in reality. “

“It’s because he is a winner – when he loses, it affects him. This is not bad – he’s proven, he has won an enormous amount of titles.”

“Whether you like him or not, he does not leave you indifferent – though I’m speaking of him as a coach, not a man.”

“He’s not someone who is there to give confidence to his players. He is there to get what he can out of his players.” “He expects you to motivate yourself. If you lack confidence, all he does is put you on the bench.”

You wouldn’t expect a manager to be pleased when they lose – especially if you have such a great record as Jose has in football.

Demba Ba was at Newcastle for a magical 18 months from the summer of 2011 until January, 2013 when he signed for Chelsea for around £7M – via the release clause in his contract.

And in his only full season on Tyneside we finished 5th top and qualified for the Europa League.

During his time at Newcastle he scored 29 goals in 58 appearances for us and was very popular with the fans .

Maybe he’s one of the best free agents we have signed in recent memory.

Ba’s scored 12 goals in 16 games so far in China and in his career Ba’s scored 159 goals in 323 total appearances – a fantastic goal-scoring record – slightly more than one goal in every two appearances.

What a waste playing in China, I wonder what he’s getting paid ?

Maybe after Chelsea realised he’s not quite good enough to be in a major league trophy team so just decided to cash in and retire even richer than he would have done anyway playing for someone like us.

Demba was always about the money!

He’s the equivalent to Rod Tidwell from Jerry Maguire…show me the Money!

When any player leaves guaranteed first team football, to warm a bench at a “bigger” club, they simply don’t want to be here, and we don’t want them either.

“… After all, Pardew survived four years at Newcastle United under Mike Ashley and that was remarkable in itself.”

…no it’s not. Ashley never sacks anyone these days. And he even hires people like JFK!

firebug…when that happens they are simply not in it for the football!

…the motivation is something entirely different!

That Chelski job has just come at the wrong time for the inept one, this is his first full season with Palace, his up season, Chelski should have waited til next season to sack Jose, when the inept one has had time to coach the football out of the Palace player and send them back where they belong.

    Festive greetings lads and lasses
Just back from honeymoon so fortunately missed the palace game. But caught highlights of the last two in the airport was ecstatic
Sad to see agent Jose sacked to be honest was hoping the’d stick with him for the rest of the season as he seemed to be doing a fine job in seeing this club implode and nothing would make me smile wider than seeing this shower drop into the championship after years of listening to what is now my brother in law’s drivel over the years as they signed both remy and demba to simply put them on the bench thus denying the real fans of watching two cracking players .
Love demba back but remy nah decent player but more of an ego than Kanye west. Oh Jeff he is asometimes tone deaf musician / producer /celebrity before you google him thinking he is up and coming in the bundesligue 🙂

Congratulations mate, Hope you have a very long and prosperous life together.

I too would love to see Chelski drop, but I think they will start playing again now Jose has gone.
