9:32 pm, Saturday, December 19th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 50 Comments

Alan Shearer used his Twitter account after the 1-1 draw today with Aston Villa at St. James’Park to say it was a better point for Villa – only their 7th in 17 league games than for Newcastle – who were expected to win this game.

until colocinni leaves the club disappointment and pain will be the order of the day at nufc

  • 2 toon kk // Dec 19, 2015 at 9:41 PM

What was really obvious today, was our problem we’ve had for a long time and that’s our total lack of cutting edge in front of goal. P.ss poor!

  • 3 Tsunki // Dec 19, 2015 at 9:43 PM

Toonbotherer if the pain of Colo scoring a goal is too much, wait a day. Perhaps people will forget. I’m no big fan of the guy, but without him we would have lost today. You are, if I may say sir, a monumental gonad.

Manx…I am just given critique were it’s due

  • 5 Tsunki // Dec 19, 2015 at 9:44 PM

I don’t see alans tweet as being a negative for the Toon than it is a positive for villa. We aren’t doing so bad. We aren’t the team now destined for relegation.

Even with missing his chance would start with Siem did OK today linked up play from defence to attack.
Today too many fans have their favourites and wanmt them to start so give the likes of Siem, Cisse and Dummett shit today.

    Didn’t understand substitutions today

  • 7 manxpie // Dec 19, 2015 at 9:50 PM

well jesper your critique on colback is wrong in all due respect
he is essential in our play at the minute and without him we’d be far far more in the shite
off course we could get a better player in that position but we don’t have them so critisism of him and wat he does is unjust

oh trust you sc unthorpe i missed that so 6-1

  • 10 croftus5678 // Dec 19, 2015 at 9:58 PM

colo did great again today !

we was at fault for their goal though imo as we again did not close down the man but let him turn and shoot.

either way a great effort from us and we deserved to win but we gifted them the point both with their goal and the 5-6 chances we really should have scored.

  • 11 jimmysmith // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:01 PM

Chelsea sack Mourinho, and Hiddink is in the stands next match ready to take over, for six months. We, in an almost identical position, put Carver in the job, nearly go down and are still paying for it. How much of the poor start to this season, can be attributed to the dreadful second half of the last. 70%?

OK, the conditions were a leveller, but we were pretty duff..

  • 12 Lee Charnley Bunga Party // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:16 PM

The team that finished the game is the team that should start against teams like Villa !!

That way we could have attacked on both wings and probably been a couple of goals to the good before half time

Team selection and poor finishing was to blame for us losing the points

Dummett is a good defender when he has to just defend but he is not a modern full back which is why it would be better that Thauvin was starting because then Dummett can just sit back

I have watched Everton recently and they will cause us problems could be a Palace or Leicester style beating for us

We are certainly not out of the relegation woods yet ! Typical Newcastle !!

Manx…I am not going to base my opinion on what you think is right…

Colback’s lack of intelligent running and his pointless bookings are there to see for everyone…even for you if you would just open your eyes.

  • 14 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:19 PM

The guys went missing for most parts of the game again today. You usually see him when he get booking.

If they would just listen to me and give the players a good fonging after poor matches a lot of this distress could be avoided….

  • 17 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:28 PM

We have struggled every game this season when he opposition have a muscular powerful centre/forward… and could be the same boxing day with Lukaku who is also on a hot streak

  • 18 Blackley and Brownlie // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:33 PM

Once again no cutting edge from Sdj, Cisse, Perez and Mitro. Very poor. Makro is struggling and I can’t see it improving. Get Mourinho.

  • 19 manxpie // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:35 PM

jesper i watch every game fella so your opinions are based on zilch really aren’t they?
so believe me colback has been very very important in our games!!

  • 20 jimiley // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:39 PM

Toon is involved in a relegation battle all the way to May. Get used to it. And we may go down. Ashley out. I will go back when he goes. If we swirl around the plughole for long enough, eventually we will go down.

What happened? Norhing. You’re still stupid on your favourite subject.

  • 25 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:46 PM

You can’t win every week, no team this season have been consistent, Chelsea, man city, Liverpool, man utd.

  • 26 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:48 PM

    Blackley

You are like that guy that bangs on about colo.

  • 27 Laurent Robert 32 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:50 PM

Really needed to take those chances today, shame we didn’t manage it. I’m pleased Siem started as I’d like him to be un the team. He has a lot to offer when fully up and running.

  • 28 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:51 PM

Some of you got short memories for example last week, some were saying sissoko was awesome and now today someone said he’s a crap player, that’s just one example.

  • 29 jimiley // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:51 PM

Pardew is tipped as the next England manager or possibly Chelsea manager. Incredible. Everything the Toon touches turns to dust. The club is cursed.

  • 30 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:53 PM

If the pitch was in better condition would have scored more, pissing down with Rain with players falling doesn’t exactly help now does it.

  • 31 Tsunki // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:53 PM

Two good wins after a long losing streak does not mean you get the right you beat everybody. Teams desperate to survive are as hard to beat as cl contenders. We have not lost today, have not lost in three games. How long is it since we could say thar?

  • 32 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:56 PM

Never mind being the England manger, he should be God,

  • 33 bettyswallocks // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:57 PM

Jesper… You seem to have some quite strong views on how we played today.

Does that mean that you actually watched the match?

  • 34 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 10:59 PM

    Tunski

So do you expect us to win every match.

  • 35 welshgeordie9 // Dec 19, 2015 at 11:01 PM

Did man Utd expect to lose today, no they didn’t, didn’t Everton think they were going to lose today, no team goes on a long winning streak apart from Spurs which we stopped.

  • 36 Tsunki // Dec 19, 2015 at 11:22 PM

    No Welsh quite the opposite

  • 37 Jib // Dec 19, 2015 at 11:39 PM

  • 40 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:36 AM

Betty…do you ever really read what I write?…really read it. Not just stop and then make up the rest as you go along?

…would explain alot if that was the case 😉

Manx…I love posters like you and Hail telling others that your opinion means…what was the word again, zilch!

    Fascinating stuff!

  • 41 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:40 AM

    Welsh…how’s your dad doing?

  • 42 welshgeordie9 // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:45 AM

    Jesper

He’s fine at the moment, chemo after xmas, thanks for asking but you shouldn’t have, i will only get accused by BandB for wanting attention, Why she thinks that God only knows.

  • 43 bettyswallocks // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:46 AM

Jesper…… Most of us on here watch the match so we can then discuss it with fellow bloggers.

I was just wondering how you formed your opinions as you only seem to watch on the odd occasion.

  • 44 welshgeordie9 // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:46 AM

Trust my two teams are down the pissing bottom of the league.

  • 45 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:48 AM

Welsh…I said a prayer for him last Wednesday like I promised I would!

…it’s tough getting through this especially at Christmas. I lost my mom 4 years ago prior to Christmas.

  • 46 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:50 AM

Betty…and doesn’t you see me having “strong” opinions about certain aspects of our game when I have watched?

  • 47 welshgeordie9 // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:53 AM

    Jesper

Thanks for that mate, if I was on my own I would probably crack up, but I’ve got a very strong family we will get through this like last time when he had prostrate cancer, don’t worry I will be fine.

  • 48 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Dec 20, 2015 at 12:55 AM

Welsh…family is what matters. Stay strong! 🙂

  • 49 SPRINGY // Dec 20, 2015 at 1:24 AM

these dropped points against lower positioned sides could be our undoing……tonight wasnt good enough….effort was there but the quality was lacking…..it looks like we need new blood in jan …if macca last till then like…..alot of people my self included thought we were so much better …and thought we should win… but the fact is we were not on the day..,and that has been to regular a fact

  • 50 toonincheek // Dec 20, 2015 at 1:26 AM

    Welsh –

You really can’t complain at BandB taking potshots
at you at every opportunity when you do the same.
